Matthew smiled and watched her daughter. “Your mom will come back.” He said and kissed her forehead. “I know we have you and you are perfect but we wanted another baby because we loved you so much, we wanted another little you.” He said and watched his wife walk in. He smiled at her and then took a drink of tea. “You were just like Charlie when you were a baby.” He said to his daughter.

sofia sighed. “i want a baby sister not a brother.” she told him and looked at charlie. “so i cried a lot? he cries too much.” she told her parents and ate another sandwich. “sofia, i don’t get to chose if you get a baby sister or brother. we were blessed with a baby boy and that’s that.” kate told her and went to give charlie his medicine.

“You cried too much too. It is just what babies do.” He said looking at her. “Your mom’s right. We don’t get to choose.” He said. He picked his daughter up and set her on his lap. “I love you.” He said to his daughter.

sofia squealed when he put her on his lap. "i love you too." she told him and looked at kate. she had taken charlie out of the sling and was bouncing him as she carried him around the dining room. he was getting fussy again. kate was trying her best to calm him down.

Matthew smiled and watched his daughter happily. He really loved his family. He relaxed.

kate watch sofia and matthew and smiled. "hey, i'm going to the nursery if you need me." she told them and walked upstairs, which was a bit hard with a crying child. she tried to calm him down but he wouldn't.

“Sounds good.” He said to his wife. “How about we clean up and then we can play something else?” He asked his daughter. He wondered if it was weird for her that he wasn’t working at all.

kate decided to get some work done. she had gotten more since the trip had ended. it wasn't too hard which she was thankful for and now she felt more respected by her advisors. she carried charlie's playpen down to her office and set him in it and started doing work down there.

Matthew spent time with his daughter relaxing. He was enjoying his time not working all the time.

kate did her work quietly and picked up charlie when it was time to feed him. she went to make a bottle and said hi to matthew and sofia. once he finished her bottle and went back to her office.
