"Good." He said with a smile. He looked at her. "We should probably eat." He said to her. "I will go figure something out." He added. He went to the kitchen and tried to figure out what he could cook.

Kate carried Sofia to the kitchen and put her in her carrier. “I’ll teach you how to make lasagna if you want.”

"Okay. If you are feeling up to it." He said to her. He did not want her to stress herself.

Kate sat on the counter and taught him how to make lasagna and soon after that she fell asleep on the counter.

He put it in the oven after she helped him make it. He carried her up to bed and then came back down and picked up Sofia and held her.

Kate slept for a while before she heard the oven. She started coughing and walked out into the hallway. She smelled smoke. She ran downstairs and coughed harder.

Matthew had not been told how long to leave it in and he left it in too long. He took it out and took it outside opening all the windows. The smoke alarms were going off. "Can you take Sofia outside please?" He asked over all the noise. "She is by the door." He said and turned on fans trying to make it not so bad.

Kate picked up the baby carrier with Sofia in it and ran to the horse stables. She sang a song to her daughter and took her out of the carrier and rocked her.

Matt worked on airing out the house. He walked out to the stables and looked at Kate. "You and Sofia should stay at a hotel tonight." He said looking at her.

“What about you...?” She asked quietly. She didn’t want to be alone in a place she’s never been to.
