She stopped and glared at him "Why do you even care if I'm okay? I was gone for almost 2 days and I saw only 1 guard, who just looked at me and walked away. You didn't care I was gone, you were probably happy I wasn't around to bother you." She snapped before storming to their bedroom. Kate slammed the door and locked it.

Matthew sighed and ran after her and tried to get in. "Please let me in. At least talk to me. I did look for you. I just could not find you and my father made me do work. So I sent guards after you." He said to her. "I was really worried. But I am not going to force you to believe me." He said and stormed off.

She took in a shaky breath and unlocked the door before opening it to find nobody standing there "The doors unlocked!" She called out before closing it again. Kate walked over to the fireplace and had no trouble starting it. She sat next to it while she read a book.

Matthew went to his office and shut the door. He wanted to be left alone.

A nurse came up to check on her but left soon after. Kate was getting lonely so she walked to his office and knocked on the door. "I'm really sorry, and I was hoping to make it up with a surprise I planned for tonight unless you don't want to go. I can go myself," she said softly through the door.

"Come in!" He called. He nodded. "That sounds fun. I will go with you." He said to her with a small smile. He hoped that she was not too mad that he did not come after her.

She slowly opened the door and walked in, closing the door behind her. One of her hands was in a tight fist behind her back. Kate was digging her fingernails into her skin until she felt a warm liquid on her hand, which she knew was blood "I'll be back, I really need to use the bathroom." She said before rushing off.

"Okay." He said to her and let her go. He went back to working. He was trying to get some stuff done that he really had too. He yawned and read some books.

She wrapped her hand with a bandage and walked back to his office, hiding her hurt hand in her sweatshirt pocket. She opened the door without knock and leaned against the doorway "Get ready soon, dress in something casual and nice." She said before standing out and walking to their room.

"Okay." Matthew said and went with her and picked clothes out of his closet and and went and changed. He looked over at her when he came out. "I'm ready."
