1x1 w/ it.will.rain (Country vs. City)

Jenny and Snitch stood a couple of yards away, listening to the conversation. In her mind Rolland wasn’t worried at all, in fact he seemed to have something else on her mind. So instead of heading in she dug her heels in and took off on Snitch, which made quite a good deal of noise. Jenny didn’t know why but tears started to roll down her face. She saw an opening in the woods that she remembered as the old trail that led to her old house with a huge peach tree in the middle. Jenny headed down the path, only slowing when she got to the tree.

Rolland looked at the time for what felt like the millionth time since Jenny had left. He was so worried about her. "Okay. Mary, I have to go. Someone important to me is not back yet." He said and started away. Mary followed after him. "Let me come with you." She said to him. "We can talk." She added. Rolland sighed and walked to the barn and got his horse and went looking for her. He left Mary standing there clearly upset with him. He went to her mothers grave and saw flowers. He then got an idea of where she could be and got Cocoa into a run. He went down the trail to her old house. "Genevieve! Are you out here?" He called as he looked around. He then thought he would be better off calling for Snitch. "Snitch!" He called and waited for a noise.

Jenny sat down at the tree and Snitch laid down next to her, his head in her lap. “Go away Rolland! I’m fine.” In reality her foot was looking worse than before from jumping on Snitch so many times. It’s was all bruised and swollen. But she really didn’t want to see him. “Go see Mary. It looks like she really wants to see you.” She looked up at the stars and yawned.

Rolland heard her and followed her voice to where she was. He knew Cocoa would not run away and if she did, it would be back to the pasture so he got off and ran over to her and looked at her. "I don't want to go see Mary. Her relationship with me is over." He said to her. He saw that her foot was worse. He rarely called her by her nickname because he loved her name. He always had. "Jenny...please don't make me leave you. You are hurt and you seem upset." He said to her.

Jenny wouldn’t looked him in the eye but she smirked, bit her lip, her and shook her head. “Wow Rolland, you must me getting really desperate to be calling me Jenny. Can’t remember the last time you called me that.” She rolled her eyes and Snitch put himself between her and Rolland, laying back down again. “You obviously loved her once, should try it again.” She yawned and rested her head on Snitch’s side. “We’ll be fine out here tonight.” She was shivering a bit but she was stubborn.

Rolland sighed. "I just want you to be okay. I was so worried when you were gone but I was trying to give you space. I just- I want you to be okay and safe. Yes, I loved her once. A long time ago and it did not work out then and it will not work now. Honestly, I don't want to ever try that again. I just want you to come back with me." He said to her. "Genevieve. Please. Just come back with me and get warm." He said to her.

Jenny sighed and crawled onto Snitch, she clicked her tongue and he got up and started to walk back towards the barn. “So, why don’t you call me Jenny like everyone else?” Jenny looked up to his driveway in the hopes that Mary had left. Snitch was going rather slow so that Rolland could keep up and do Jenny could stay on without much effort. Jenny looked over at Rolland. “And why do you care what I do. It’s not going to get that cold out tonight.”

Rolland walked next to her since Cocoa had run back to the pasture. He went to the barn with her. "Genevieve, I don't call ya Jenny because your real name is beautiful and it suits ya perfectly. It may not get that cold but you were shivering and I care because I have had a crush on ya since we were little. Sure it is ridiculous, but I still care." He said and went back to the barn and got her book and gently put it back on her foot before she could get off the horse. "You don't have to think anything of the crush. I know it is weird." He said to her.

Jenny sighed down at her boot. “I think I should leave the boot off and ice it.” She slid off Snitch, landing lightly on her feet. “Will you stay up with me?” Jenny was a little paranoid that Mary or Liam would show back up. “I don’t want to fall asleep with a bag of ice on my foot.” She kissed Snitch’s forehead and led him to his stall for the night. “And yeah I kinda figured that you had a crush on me from the way you acted at the arena.” She winced as she tried to walk inside.

"Ya need to ice it but I don't want you walking on it without a boot on it." Rolland said to her. "I will stay up with you." He said to her. Cocoa got in the stall with Snitch before she could close it. Rolland looked at her as she started inside and spoke. "I'm sorry." He said to her. He was sorry about liking her and also how he acted. "Trust me. Nothing will come of it. I am not going to make this summer awkward for ya or anything." He said and went and picked her up. He could tell she was in a lot of pain. He sat her on the couch and got an ice pack for her. He held it out for her and then sat in a chair opposite of her.
