1x1 w/ it.will.rain (Country vs. City)

Jenny smiled a bit as she looked out at the ring. “I would enjoy that very much.” She sat down with her leg out to the side and looked up at him. “So what happened with you Rolland? No wife and kids waiting for you at home?” She was serveky shocked that every guy that she grew up with was already married with kids.

Rolland looked at her and smiled. He sat down next to her and looked at her and shrugged. He looked away and looked at the ring. He did not really want to talk about that. "I got engaged once but it did not work out so we ended it and I have not dated since. Everyone got married around me and I just went to the weddings alone. We were 18 and she wanted kids and I still felt like one so I wanted to wait. She also wanted to travel a lot and with all of the animals, it is hard for me to do that. So she went and got married to another guy. I am only 23. I am not ready to have kids and most girls are not okay with that. This is a small town and I have never left. We did not grow up with that many people around our age so it is not surprising they all got together." Rolland said still not looking at her. He was kind of embarrassed about it just because of most everyone else getting married. He watched as the bull riding got started. He had a while before his turn.

Jenny look up at him and nudged him with her shoulder. “Well if it makes you feel any better, I’m not married either. Now I know things are a bit different in the south than in the north but, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.” She yawned as the time difference started to get to her. “Besides, now you get to hang out with me instead of your wife.” Jenny got to think if it was one of the girls that was there. “Everyone looks so different now.”

"Ya. I guess that is true. I do get to spend time with you now. I know that not all towns down here are like that. There are a lot that aren't but this one just happens to be." He said and nodded. "Yes. Everyone is very different. You did not change much though." He said to her still watching the guys. Luke and Eric had both gone and fallen off shortly after they got on. He glanced at her and then went back to the bull riding. He watched as one guy got carried off the field after getting hurt. He waited patently for his turn.

Jenny cringed, watching the injured man being carried away. She nudged him gently. “You be careful out there. I don’t need to explain to your mom why you’re the one going to the hospital this time.” Jenny slowly started to lean on him as she got more and more tired, worried about how Rolland was going to do in the competition. She didn’t like the thought of him even possibly getting hurt.

Rolland looked at her and chuckled a little. "I will be fine. You should be careful. Startin' to sound like Cass and Mary." He joked and looked at her as she leaned on him. "I have to get going. I will see you when I finish." He said to her. He stood and went to where the set up was so he could get his number on and say hello to the other riders. He adjusted his hat before he got on the bull and held on with one hand like he had to. He was able to stay on for a pretty long time before he was thrown off. He rolled away from the bull so he would not get stepped on and then stood. He grabbed his hat. He then walked out of the ring. He was fine other than being a little sore. He was very dusty though.

Jenny was standing up and leaning on the fence to watch, her bad foot barely touching the ground, she looked up at the board to see how his time compared to others. Jenny looked over at Liam and Cass and their friends and realized how close she came to becoming one of them. Married by 18 family and kids by 20. Jenny laughed to herself, not being able to imagine that type of life for herself. She began to wonder who she’s end up with and how their lives would be.

Rolland waited for the judges to give him a score. He smiled when he saw he got a 92 out of 100. An excellent ride. He won a lot of these competitions. He smiled as he was called for first place and went out into the ring. Eric got second and another guy got third. He walked over to Jenny and smiled at her. "Ya ready to go back to my place?" He asked her. Liam looked over at the two of them. "So you two are datin' now? Awe Jenny came back for Rolland. Always thought y'all would end up together." He said Rolland looked at him. "We are not datin'. She is just stayin' with my parents over summer." He said to him.

Jenny nodded to Rolland before rolling her eyes at Liam. “Liam knock it off, we aren’t kids anymore. You don’t get to mess with me all the time now.” She figured that he was just sour that he had lost and that his wife was at home. But Jenny always wondered what would have happened between her and Rolland if she had stayed in town. Jenny leaned on the railing, waiting for Rolland to decide when they were going to leave.

Rolland looked at Liam. "Ya can't really mess with her anymore." He said with a shrug. Liam looked at Jenny. "Awe Jenny. You are not fun anymore. The city changed you darlin'." He said and left. Rolland almost slapped him. He had fought him before so it would not be the first time. Rolland was stronger than him by quite a bit. "Hey Liam. You changed too. Now you are just a jerk." Rolland said and dodged the punch that Liam threw. Eric grabbed Liam and held him back. "Rolland, you need to get out of here." He said to him. Rolland sighed. He started out of the stadium. "How are ya feelin'?" He asked Jenny as he opened the door to the truck for her.
