theodosia flushed a bit as her shoulder touched poe's and he spoke to the bartender. she narrowed her eyes a bit as the bartender acted as if they weren't be serious. "not to be rude, sir, but we'll deal with the credits but we do need to know if there are any dealers we can talk to," she said in a fiery tone. the bartender smirked a bit. "there is one," he said then pointed over to a corner where a man was sitting alone. "his name is roan, if you've got enough credits im sure he can take you wherever you want to go, princess," he said in a mocking tone.

echo nodded. "yeah, no one important really comes to jakku," she said in a skeptic voice to finn. she heard an excited beep from bb-8 now that he had announced that he was from the resistance. she looked over a rey for a moment, showing in her face that she didn't believe the man.

glancing back as the bartender pointed to a man sitting alone, he looked back in time to hear him refer to thea with a mocking tone. flashing him a warning look, poe pushed away from the bar. "thank you." he spoke in a way that he hoped let him know not to address her like that- sparing him a glare before he turned away and with thea walked toward this lone pilot.

ignoring echo's skeptical expression, rey pushed on. "he says he's on a secret mission and he needs to get back to your base." her eyes lit up in an almost childlike joy, heart skipping a beat at the thought of an adventure with something like the resistance.

the pilot-in-training crossed her arms as she looked at the bartender before following poe towards the lone pilot. "i hope he's not looking for too many credit," theodosia whispered to poe. the good thing was that they had found a town and if they had to, they could work for the credits they needed.

echo tensed a bit when rey ignored her but turned back to the man when he started to talk again. "yeah, he has a map that leads to luke skywalker, everyone's after it," finn told them in a hushed voice. echo was take aback for a mintue. luke skywalker? everyone seemed to talk about him as if he was just a myth, was he actually real?

"we can always play the resistance card... that is, if he's not affiliated with anyone we wouldn't want to alert." he muttered back as he stepped up to place one hand on the table. the pilot looked up briefly, eyes scanning thea and poe. "we're looking for a ride out of here. heard you're offering."

at the mention of luke skywalker, a hush fell over the pair, and rey took in a sharp breath. "he's real?" she breathed, eyes wide with awe. "I thought he was a myth..."
the shock of the moment was cut short as bb-8 reappeared with a panicked beep. "what is it?" her attention shifted instantly, seemingly forgetting about what finn had just said as the droid worried about stormtroopers that had been deployed on the planet.

theodosia nodded but then sighed. "he doesn't look like he'd be the type to do something just because we're part of the resistance," she said to him, looking over the man. he had dark, messy hard and a cold face. he looked up at them. "yeah, i can fly you, what do you have to offer?" he asked.

echo turned quickly when bb-8 began to let out string a panicked beeps. she ran over to see what it was so anxious about. she then saw two stormtroopers. suddenly, they began to fire their blasters at them. she was about to run when finn grabbed both her and rey's wrists and started to run. "hey! let go!" she said shaking free of him so that she could run faster. she looked back for just a moment, seeing that bb-8 was just behind them.

"glad to hear it." poe leaned forward a little, one hand still on the table. "we'd like to keep off the radar of certain parties," lowering his voice to let the pilot know what he meant. "the resistance can pay you whatever you fine when we get to our destination."

finn grabbed her hand, pulling her and echo along. "I can run without you holding my hand!" rey growled, pulling away but running speedily after. several ships flew overhead. tie fighters. this was not good. turning the corner to reach unkar plutt's shipyard, where a dozen rusted and broken starfighters and cargo carriers lay. there was an untouched quadjumper ahead, which rey started off for.

theodosia saw the pilot snicker. "the resistance, eh?" he said. "so how do i know the resistance will grant me what i want? how do i know you two are even part of the resistance?" he asked them, leaning back into his chair. she didn't really know what to say so she would just leave this up to poe.

echo didn't slow down her running when she broke free from finn's hand. she looked around frantically for any escape. she saw rey making a break for a quadjumper and followed after her. "we need a pilot!" finn yelled over the sounds of blasters hitting the sanding surface of jakku.

letting out an exasperated huff, poe pushed off of the table. "let us use your ship's comm radio and we can contact our base." he told the pilot. it was a fair enough concern, but he was beginning to get anxious. all this time away from the resistance, neither of them had any idea what was happening back home.

"we've got one!" rey shouted over the blasts, the roaring of ships in the air. okay, so, she had never really flown a ship... but the flight sims counted, and she was a quick learner. but before they could reach the quadjumper, it exploded into a massive pile of ash and flames. she skidded to a stop, breath hitching before turning to the next best thing. an ancient looking corellian smuggler ship.

the pilot narrowed his eyes, thinking over this proposal. he let out a sigh and nodded. "alright," he said to them. theodosia looked over at poe, shooting him the first genuine smile she had given in a while. "let's us to your ship and we'll contact our base," thea pressed. "look, why don't you two rest up and get a drink first. you look pretty rough," he said with a snicker.

echo was a bit confused when rey pronounced herself to be a pilot. sure, they had drove speeders, but neither of them had ever flow a real ship. of course, she went long with it. she forced her hands onto the sandy ground to stop her when the quadjumper a blown into a pile of ash and column of fire. she looked around and ran to the corellian smuggler ship as rey did the same. it looked like a piece of scrap metal but they didn't have anything better.

the pair shared a little smile for a moment before the pilot spoke again. this really was the first time things were actually going well for them. "the sooner we get to our base the sooner you get paid, pal," poe spoke with a little bit of an edge as the other pilot let out a little laugh.

darting up the ramp of the piece of corellian junk, rey made a b-line for the cockpit. "gunner position is down there," she gave a vague gesture to finn, then stopped- digging her heels into the ground to spin around and face echo. "I'm going to need a co-pilot." she gave a flash of a smile, before turning and making her way back to the cockpit to fire the ship up.
