[Boomer]

"I-I feel okay." she insisted, thinking that Catherine might be disappointed to end their conversation. The pup watched the tiger show off her power. Alessa took the rose and sniffed it. She was amazed that Catherine was so in control of their power... or at least that's what they were leading her on to think. Alessa straightened herself out, then flicked her tail. "I can still talk if you want me to..." she murmured. Alessa didn't feel too sleepy at the moment.

[Tigme]

"Are you sure?" Catherine asked as Alessa said she was fine, "You've had quite the eventful day already, I wouldn't want you getting too stressed out." Catherine knew that Alessa had just recently awoken from a nap, but also forgot that how much energy young children had, even if they only slept for a short while, "I don't want to force you to do something you don't want to do." They knew what they were saying was only situational, in normal cases they wouldn't say things like this, but Catherine had to get her to know she was free now, that she didn't need every single action to be dictated by an adult.

[Boomer]

"I'm sure..." she confirmed, giving a nod. Alessa had a feeling that Catherine wanted to know more, but felt they were being truthful about not wanting to stress her out. Alessa scratched the back of her head, then huffed softly. "There's probably a lot that has to be sorted out... right?" she asked quietly. Alessa glanced to Scarlett for a moment, then hugged the toy.

[Tigme]

"If you say so," Catherine said, and took a quick look around. They had actually hoped Alessa had chosen to go back upstairs, just to give them some time to trim the plants, but they supposed it could wait even longer now, "Well, the house isn't too big, but it's big enough, here, let me show you around." They headed out from the kitchen, stopping at the doorway to wait for Alessa.

[Boomer]

Alessa got up and pushed her chair in. The girl walked over to Catherine, allowing them to take the lead. She remembered the gloves and shears in Catherine's pocket; she thought maybe Catherine needed to tend to her plants. "I-if you're busy, I-I can go to my room..." she said quietly. She felt bad for distracting Catherine from the plants.

[Tigme]

Catherine's ear flicked as they felt bad for giving the wrong message, "No no, it's fine, I swear!" They tried to convince her, "The plants always complain when I trim them anyways, this'll give them time to prepare." They thought of a good excuse, but it was more likely with time they'd try to steal the shears rather than prepare themselves. But Catherine knew Alessa wouldn't know that, making it hopefully a well enough excuse.

[Boomer]

"I can't blame them, it sounds scary... I-I guess I would't know for sure, but it seems scary." said Alessa quietly, looking to the overgrown vines and plants. She was quiet for a moment, then studied each plant closely. "Do they have names?" she asked quietly. She thought that they had their own personalities that may not be so obvious to others. Alessa was tempted to touch one of the vines, but she stopped herself from doing so. She wasn't sure if she was allowed to touch them, or if the plants would react negatively towards her.

[Tigme]

Catherine shrugged, "They just like to be little drama queens, it doesn't hurt them much." As Alessa asked about names, they thought for a moment, "Well, I suppose technically they do, but plants don't speak in a language like ours. They know of each other, but most of what they 'say' can't be translated back. It's a pretty complicated system." They stopped for a moment, near a wall of vines as they reached the main room, "Well, you've seen this, it's the main room," Catherine said, "This is just mainly where we can sit and converse, or read under the lights." Before they knew it, the ivy growing down began to wrap around their arm. They swiftly turned to the plant, giving it a deathly look, and it quickly wilted back. She took a breath to calm down, and turned back to Alessa to see that it seemed she was holding back on something. Catherine let out a chuckle, "You can touch them if you want, although I wouldn't expect as much of a reaction as to what they give me."

[Boomer]

"Much...?" whispered Alessa, slightly frowning. She listened to Catherine's explanation of the plants and their secretive language. "It's sort of like animals, then?" she asked quietly, "Like the birds and mice?" Alessa reached out to one of the vines and gently felt one of its leaves. It felt slick in her paw. Now that she was granted permission to touch them, she would try to draw each plant in the house; she had a better understanding of how to put texture into their stems and leaves.

[Tigme]

"Well, just as they don't speak in the same way we do, plants can't really "feel" either," Catherine tried to explain, "Sort of like birds and mice, I suppose, they just want everything. They'll spread, and get bigger until they can't even handle themselves or get tangled with the other plants. It hurts their egos more than anything, seeing all their quote unquote 'hard work' wasted." Plants and animals were two entirely different kingdoms, it was hard to explain to someone without the ability how plants live and feel.
