1 x 1 with Tigermeow

[Boomer]

"Right, the grass knows..." she echoed. The pup searched carefully, then froze as she saw a monarch butterfly. She took one of the containers from Catherine, then crept up on the butterfly. In one swift motion, she caught the butterfly and let out an excited laugh. "Yes!" she barked happily.

[Tigme]

Catherine held their breath as they too spotted the Monarch butterfly. They had become a rarity due to the changing temperatures, but they had found one! "Great catch!" They exclaimed as Alessa was able to catch it, "I'm sure that little guy will love the milkweed plants." They kept some milkweed in the nursery as it was quite toxic, and kept any beetles or other annoyances that may have crawled into the house, or come with a plant away.

[Boomer]

Alessa gave a nod as she set the container down by a large oak tree. "We can keep them here until we're ready to leave." she said softly. She didn't want to jostle them too much and have them die from stress.

[Tigme]

Catherine nodded, whispering something to the tree before following along. They just wanted to let the plants know what they're doing, and although it wouldn't be much, ask them to protect the container.

(So, I didn't realize this when I was making the character, but think about how emotionally damaged the both of them would become if Catherine's house was lit on fire.)

[Boomer]

OOC: Ah yeah, you do have a point.
BIC:
Alessa continued down the path, wondering what other insects the forest kept hidden. She had a trained eye to look for any subtle movements. She stopped as she saw a cabbage white butterfly. The girl took another container from Catherine and moved to catch it, but it slipped away from her.

[Tigme]

Maybe we can look into doing something with that in the future, although I might not think about burning the entire house down.))

Catherine watched as the butterfly just barely escaped Alessa's grasp. They thought for a moment, and then put their hand to the ground once more. After mumbling some things, some vines began to wrap around, temporarily trapping the butterfly so that the pup could try again catching it.

[Boomer]

OOC: Maybe like a small kitchen fire?
BIC:
Alessa looked back at Catherine as the vines came up from the ground. "Isn't this cheating?" she asked, easily catching the butterfly. She secured the lid on it, then brought it back to the oak tree. "Looks like we've got room for one more." she said, "Do you want to try and catch one?"

That'd work, as I bet pretty much whenever we'd do it, Alessa probably wouldn't be over the trauma yet.))

"Well, if it does count as cheating, luckily I can't do that too much." Catherine rarely ever told the plants to do something, and the increased growing speed only came from energy they released naturally. To do something like make vines grow so quickly, it was tiring, "No no, you can catch the last one too." they replied, growing tired as they were still out in the woods.

[Boomer]

OOC: Yeah, she'll honestly die still being afraid of fire. Can't really blame her though.
BIC:
"If you insist." she said softly, shrugging a little. Alessa continued on her search. She didn't see anything else as she continued down the path. "I think that's all we're going to find." she called, looking back at Catherine.

[Tigme]

Yeah, trauma like that never goes away no matter how much therapy you go through. The most that can happen is to lessen your reaction, or lessen the trigger words.))

Catherine watched as Alessa continued on, looking around. They kept their distance, not wanting to startle anything she may find. As she came back empty-handed, they put their hand back to the ground, but the grass only told them of ants, "Yeah, that's probably it unless you want to start an ant colony." They said with a joking tone of voice.
