[Boomer]

"That's fine with me." she said quietly. Alessa didn't want to ruin her chance of being outside. She got off her bed and walked out of her room, then went downstairs. She waited for Catherine by the front door.

[Tigme]

Catherine made their way downstairs, a bit slower. They were tired from the long day, but would stay awake long enough to let Alessa play. Opening the door, they stepped outside to be met with the nice, cool air of the Summer evening.

[Boomer]

Alessa wagged her tail as she felt a breeze ruffle her hair. She went outside and looked around, then saw a large elm tree in the front yard. She walked to the tree, sat down, and leaned her back against the tree. She simply looked up at the sky; she could sit there for hours.

[Tigme]

Catherine decided they'd keep by the porch, right at the front door. There were some other kids playing in the distance, but none too close to where they were now. They kept an eye on Alessa, trying to not fall asleep themself.

[Boomer]

Alessa looked over to Catherine for a moment. She wouldn't dare to run off. The pup relaxed as she looked back to the sky. She hoped that none of the neighborhood kids would come by and bother her.

[Tigme]

Catherine gave a small wave as Alessa looked over at them, supposing she too could hear the children. They doubted it, but did hope one would wander over, just to give Alessa a peer to socialize with.

[Boomer]

As the dark grew darker, the fireflies began to come out. Alessa watched the little bugs fly around and glow. She reached out her paw and one landed on her, glowing a warm yellow. Alessa was overjoyed as the little firefly relaxed on her paw. It had just occurred to her that she said "firefly" without panicking. Perhaps it was because fireflies held no negative memories with her that she was able to utter the name without having an episode.

[Tigme]

Catherine was glad that Alessa was enjoying herself with the fireflies as they lit up the sky. The lights in their house were off so they wouldn't be too distracting while they were outside. As it grew dark, they decided to wait a while longer before they'd bring Alessa in. However, as the time went by they were only growing more and more tired.

[Boomer]

Alessa watched the little firefly fly away and she returned her paw to her side. She continued to watch them fly around as the sky grew darker. It was one of the most mesmerizing things she had ever seen. Alessa sighed happily as she savored the moment.

[Tigme]

The sun had been gone for a while, and the moon dimly shone in the sky. Catherine knew it was getting late, and stood up, "Alessa, it's time to come back in," They said.
