After Alessa got herself cleaned up, she dried herself off and got dressed. She didn't even try to brush out her hair. Each time she went to reach for it, she heard her mother's voice echoing in her head. Alessa took a deep breath as she decided to ask Catherine for help. She quickly grabbed the brush and Scarlett, then left the bathroom. The girl wandered down the hallway and found Catherine tending to their plants. "C-could you... maybe... help me?" she asked, a bit uncertain. She held the brush tightly in her paw.

[Tigme]

Catherine looked out as they heard the light pawsteps of Alessa walking out from the hallway. They were rather surprised to see her holding a brush, and even more surprised when she asked for help brushing her hair. They thought it had said in the file she was afraid of it, and that was why her hair was so mattered. Catherine was just about done trimming the plants, and took their gloves off, "Oh, sure, I'll help." They said, still somewhat surprised, and walked over too the small pup to help her with her hair.

[Boomer]

Alessa gave the brush to Catherine, not wanting to hold onto it any longer. She was starting to trust them a bit more. Although Alessa was distant and sometimes cold to strangers, it didn't take much kindness to have her open up. She craved attention and the smallest acts of kindness made Alessa feel wonderful. "Should I sit on the floor?" she asked quietly.

[Tigme]

"Of course," Catherine said warmly, taking the brush from Alessa. They were glad she was beginning to trust them, enough to do something that the file said she disallowed anyone to do. They even noticed how quickly she had given them the brush, obviously worried about something. They kneeled down, and waited for Alessa to sit so they could begin brushing her hair.

[Boomer]

Alessa sat on the floor and crossed her legs together. She held onto Scarlett tightly, expecting a bit of pain from the mats and tangles. She felt Scarlett carefully, simply trying to distract herself.

My goodness, we've gotten over 100 posts in less than 24 hours!))

"Alright," Catherine was hesitant at first as Alessa sat down, "This might hurt a bit." They knew it would hurt more than just a bit, but hopefully she could keep calm. Carefully, they began to brush her hair, trying to be gentle, even through the thick knots and mats. They hoped they could get through all of this alright, some of the worse parts looked like a wash and brushing wouldn't do it.

[Boomer]

OOC: Ah, that's not too bad for me!

Alessa winced each time a mat or tangle was pulled at. She squirmed a little, but stayed sitting down. Alessa wouldn't hold this against Catherine at a later time; she knew it would be a bit painful. Now if they were being aggressive or doing this out of anger, Alessa would've snapped at them and possibly used her telekinesis to defend herself. Her grip on Scarlett tightened a bit.

I haven't done an rp in quite a while, so it's nice to be back into it once again haha))

Catherine didn't know that Alessa was being careful, and was fearful that she might have another episode with any stroke of the brush. Each time she winced from the pain, they too flinched, just in case. However, they knew that if they were to keep the trusting relationship growing, they would need to keep calm, and not be as fearful. It took a while and was nowhere near perfect, but nearly an hour of struggling, Catherine was finally able to get Alessa's hair straightened out.

[Boomer]

OOC: Ah, really? You don't seem rusty!

Alessa never once used her power, although there were times she wanted to. The pup winced quietly as her head was pounding now. The girl glanced back to Catherine. "A-all the knots are gone?" she asked quietly. Even if the mats were gone, her hair was damaged from being matted for so long. She took a few deep breaths as she turned around fully to look at her foster parent.

Well, I did some stuff here and there every once in a while, plus you've gotta do a lot of writing in college, but I haven't done this much in months!))

"Yes," Catherine said softly, "Your hair is still a bit messy, but there aren't any more knots." They knew there'd be more by tomorrow, but that'd be another obstacle. For now, they were just glad to have gotten as far as they did, "How does your head feel?" They suspected her head must be throbbing. Even Catherine's arm was hurting after having to brush through so many knots. They looked down at the brush; it was full of hair, and they began getting it out to go throw out when they were done speaking.
