"Yes, medicine cats will often work together during war. Right now, Doeshine needs some more guidance." She said, her tail flicking with excitement.

"So cats look up to you like a mentor, even outside the clans? How amusing." A purr of amusement escaped his muzzle as he gently pressed his injured leg against the ground as to not trigger a spasm of pain. "It must be like having an out of clan apprentice."

Drizzlefang always did want an apprentice. His previously infected injury did affect his performance but now he had a glimmer of hope in the form of the kits in the nursery, almost ready to train to become noble warriors. He wondered if Bramblepool would be able to receive the same someday.

Bramblepool chuckled, amused. "No, Doeshine is actually older than me.
Her leader has recently been infected by a virus, from some twolegs. It could be fatal, especially for a young cat. " She said, smiling. She made a bag of leaves again. "I'm making a bag for her so she isn't losing a leader."

Bramblepool felt herself turn red, but made it quickly disappear. "Here's the thing,
Drizzlefang. Leaders aren't allowed at our meetings. We discuss things to the leaders afterwards. Although it might seem like a good idea, two clans could be in a fight and their leaders could lose track of the battle.
" She said, her tone serious.

Many would take this as an insult, however he raised the issue with genuine concern in his voice. Medicine cats were highly vulnerable in hindsight.

"Are clan tensions really that high?" He could find his unwavering beliefs crumble every time he spoke to the beloved medicine cat.

Bramblepool looked over at him, shaking her head. "We are aloud, it's just, what if our clan goes under attack? I won't be here unless I run back. And you know I don't have the most energy.
That's why we vowed to never have a leader or let another medicine cat in our clan without permission of the leader." She said, sadly. She shuffled her paws.
