Patrick struggled to swim with his new tail.

She stopped " would you like help"she said

"yes. I'm sorry.." the young boy said, feeling bad about this.

"no it's fine. Just do what I do"she said and moved her tail slowly.

Patrick followed her instructions. Soon enough, he was swimming as easily as she was. Patrick smiled, following his mother.

Later, the young boy was resting his head on Nixie's lap. " Mom, what were you doing on the surface anyway?" Patrick asked.

"I wanted to know what the surface left like and what it looked like. Plus the sun felt so good"she said

"is that why you were singing?" The young boy asked.

"yes"she said
