Patrick eagerly nodded his head and followed his older sister, smiling as he held her hand.

Although still a child, Patrick was progressing fast. He was good at riding pa'li.

That evening, Patrick was given a right of pass, Uniltaron, or dream hunt. As it began, Patrick received a ceremonial bite from an Kali'weya he captured in preparation for this ritual. He also injested a glow worm. The ceremony began with Patrick singing and dancing in a hallucinatory state. At the end of the ritual, he revealed his spirit animal. Toruk.

"oh Patrick I'm so proud of you"Freyja said and hugged him. "I'm so happy for you"

Patrick, however had fallen asleep as soon as Freyja hugged her little brother.

She smiled and carried him to where he slept. Laying him down she kissed his forehead and went to her area

The next day, Patrick was taken to choose his Irken, a right normally reserved for adults, however, Patrick was considered an adult by the clan.

Patrick nodded as he approached a Irken. The young boy waited for one to approach him, knowing the one that would try to kill him would be the one for him. This nest was fairly small compared to other's mostly due to the RDA thinning their numbers.

This threatened the colony, as it made them easier prey for Toruk, the last shadow.

Once such instance was today as a Toruk swooped down and brazenly attacked the banshee that would of been Patrick's. Needless to say, Patrick wasn't taking that lying down. Patrick jumped on it's back as the creature was feeding. Patrick grabbed a hold of one of it's Queues. While the beast thrashed violently, Patrick was not deterred. He finally made Tsaheylu. This calmed it enough for Patrick to mount it's neck and ride it. The Toruk flew off into the air with Patrick riding it. After their first flight, the bond was set.

Freyja wooped in joy and went to her banshee and flew up beside him " congratulations Patrick"she yelled

"does this mean that I'm Toruk Makto?" Patrick asked.

"Yes "she said and smiled
