“Nobody’s perfect. You a trouble child? Well how would any student learn if they didn’t get into some trouble.” Brianna said, hoping to comfort Nathan a bit. He shouldn’t think so badly of himself. Brianna was sure deep down Nate was actually a nice guy, but maybe to cool to admit it to her face.

NATHAN

I dig around in my pockets for my cigarette pack, taking one with my teeth, but before lighting it, I look over at New Girl. "Want one?" I ask, then look over at the 'No Smoking' sign. "C'mon. You're not a Goodie Two-Shoes, are you?" I tease. "Wouldn't be surprised if you were. You seemed to be all over Jefferson. With answers, I mean." I light the cigarette before taking a deep breath. What are they gonna do? Kick me out? I look back at her before gathering my books, hopping off the rest of the steps. "Suit yourself New Girl." I blow a cloud of smoke out before proceeding to walk back to the dorms.

“I am not a Goodie Two-Shoes. And yes I like Photography. But what was with Mr. Jefferson calling you Tempest? It’s been a hella crazy class and I could use a smoke.” Brianna said, gathering her things and following Nate.

Juliet

Juliet grimaces and throws her arms onto her best friend's lap, "C'mon you know I'm just dramatic, there always has to be a story, right? Don't think you've struck a nerve with me, my brain is just churning crazy ideas at hyper speeds!" She sits back up and drums playfully across her lips, "That's some kind of rhymey alliterative bit, don't you think? It rolls off the tongue, maybe it's like my future catch phrase in the making!" She spends the rest of the ride in thought about slimming her catch phrase to something more... catchy and before she realizes they're parked at the diner.

Pulling lightly on her bottom lip and grinding her teeth, she tries desperately to make one of the hardest decisions known to womankind, what do I stuff my face with today? "Ahh, I'm so hungry I could eat a horse! I'm thinking carbs... like some Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream... and hashbrowns and sausage... mmm! Let's get in there!" Juliet bounces lightly while still looped together with Dana and decidedly pulls her into the diner as the suspense will surely kill her if the hunger doesn't get to her first. She releases Dana's wrist and gives a slightly apologetic smirk as she picks out a comfy booth to share and begins thinking of the review she'd write for Two Whales.

NATHAN

I jump slightly when I hear a voice behind me. "God! Are you following me?" I hiss, though it's more out of surprise more than anger. When she asks me about Jefferson again, I roll my eyes. She reminds me of another nosey photography lover... "Oh. Um..." She's, at least, trying to be friendly. "I was in a play some years back. I played Caliban. Pretty dang good job if I say so myself." I move the cigarette to the edge of my mouth and blow out, stopping for a moment to dig in my pockets again to offer her one. Hmm. Wonder if I have some pictures of my costume. I got rid of everything when Rachel.... When we.... When I...

DANA

I smile brightly as we sit down, looking over everything. "Waffles sound surprisingly good." I mutter quietly. Joyce soon comes up to ask what we want to drink, and I just order a simple tea. Hmm. Nothing really sounds good. I flick my eyes up to Juliet, looking over her mascara for a bit before looking back down. She did a pretty great job got being in the car. She seems pretty distracted about something. Probably worried about class. "Hey." I teach over and take her hand. "It'll be okay. You can ask Max, like I said. Or- or Kate. Or even Nate!"

Juliet

Juliet's head snaps up to look at Dana, her eyes twinkling, "Brilliant! Yes, I can see it now, the bad boy loner takes in the vulnerable kitten and develops into something masterful, maybe even a hero? Kitty likes taking two birds with one stone." She gives a playful wink and taps her finger excitedly against the table, brilliance tended to get her energy flowing. "Hmm, thinking about it and his aversion to social interaction, I think I'll need to see some of his pictures personally to really play off his ego, any idea how I could pull that off, my beautiful genius?" she looks hopefully toward Dana, worst case scenario maaybe the cheerleader could manage to pull some strings with Victoria the Vicious, but surely they could think of something less life-threatening.

As Joyce comes by for orders Juliet proudly announces her decision and sips on her coffee while she waits.

DANA

Is this for that contest? I tilt my head when she mentions photographic Nate, seeing his pictures. "I've heard that his style is.... macabre. Is that the right word?" I scratch at my neck before smiling. "He likes whales. I know that much! Victoria gave him a whale necklace a few years ago, which he never takes off." I smile brightly. "As far as getting close to him...." Time to put on the therapy classes. "He seems distant ever since.... Rachel.... went... missing, but... not completely isolated." I give her a chuckle. "That's just it. Maybe ask him for help in class, you know... charm him, compliment his work. That or throw a rave." I lean back, humming in confusion.

“I’m sure you were great.” Brianna said. “And I bet the costume was amazing.” She added with a friendly smile.

Why is she being nice to me? All I did was say 'hi'. Still. Maybe I can use it to my advantage. "Yeah. Steph did a pretty good job at costumes." I flick some ash before making my way up the dorm steps. "So...you gotta room here?" I blink, wondering why she followed me all the way to the dorms.

“Yeah. I just thought it might be fun to hang out, maybe ditch the rest of our classes. I’m not that into science anyway.” Brianna said. “If you’d rather be alone I can go...I’d hate to get on your bad side. She added, backing up a bit.

Kate decided to text Juliet. Hello Juliet. I was just thinking of heading out to Two Whales. Would you like to come along? She then hit send and waited for a reply. She didn’t even mind if Dana tagged along. Better to hang out with them since they seemed so sweet and kind.
