at the rate they were losing transports, they would be dead before they hit crait. there was nothing he could do, and it was the worst feeling in the world. knowing finn, companion and close friend, was either dead or holed up in some cell on snoke's ship, and there was nothing he could do. about that or the impending death or the entire resistance. something caught his eye, though. the cruiser admiral holdo had stayed behind to pilot was firing up to jump to light speed, but not away from the fight as he first assumed as he stared out of the window with wide eyes. right toward snoke's ship. as lieutenant connix approached, he noticed she shared a similar awed expression as he was sure he did. "she's gonna hit the ship.." he muttered, unable to take his eyes from the scene as it took place before him.

rey always knew it wasn't her destiny to follow the light. it had been the dark that called her first, and that she had followed willingly into the depths of the island. as the bodies of snoke's red-clad men lay around them in varying stages of death as well as the leader himself, rey knew she had made her choice. she was physically exhausted from the fight but not ready to give up yet as she looked to ben. she took his hand without hesitance, without regret and without a second thought. it was true that she didn't want to think about how finn would feel, let alone leia, or luke. rey was ready to face that disappointment. this was her choice, this was who she was always meant to be.

ben solo // kylo ren (?) — male — w/ rey
the cold, gelid area that hovered over ben's hand was now replaced with his colleague's hand. looking at rey's light brown orbs for a millisecond brought him to a new order. it was the determined, yet, fearless glint in the female's eyes that held him together, to not let his composure fall. snoke was dead, snoke was dead, and he was free; and with rey. the ship shook, and his hand withdrawn back in an attempt to pull him back to reality. his eyes searched around the room, until his body went stiff. "the ship..." he stood stuck in his place, trying to concentre on the women who was about to ram into the star destroyer wannabe. he knew rey was probably already a step ahead, as she was good at analyzing things, while he took a little bit to process."let her hit us, it won't damage this area too terribly." handing rey her lightsaber, he backed up like a lost puppy to find his cherry, cross of a saber before the ship shook. getting knocked off balanced, he fell onto the floor, and his ears rang to oblivion.

finn // the "stormtrooper" — male — w/ rose
feeling his heart race with adrenaline, he looked over at rose who was stuck in the same position with two different looking stormtroopers taunting with energy batons. they were going to die, and it was his fault for not trying hard enough. he was going to lose everything; rey, rose, leia, chewie, and... poe. feeling his throat tighten, he started to squirm and scream to stop. he was losing it, and without even realizing it- everything went silent. it was black for a moments passing until his eyes squeezed open again, and the sight of rose dragging him against the floor of a destroyed ship was apparent. sitting himself up, he looked at rose before hearing the faint nose of phasma and her posey trailing behind. groaning in pain, he grabbed at his stomach, and looked for a weapon. everything after that seemed to go by too quickly; he was dueling with phasma, he lost his balance and fell, and then struck phasma to her death. "you're always scum-" her last words were somewhat filled with agony, yet anger; "rebel scum." he corrected watching as his former boss fell into the pits of fire.

watching the cruiser cut the ship in two like a knife was... breathtaking. it only took seconds for the intimidating ship to turn to nothing but a broken toy. everyone in the transporter was silent, breaths held as they watched pieces of shining metal break away from the ship and float into oblivion. they had done it- they were officially safe from the fleet, at least here. poe knew they would be followed onto crait, it was inevitable. he hoped finn was still alive somehow, that thought was always there in the back of his mind. "what are we going to do when we reach the base?" he asked, turning to look at the others. "we have no more ships, few fighters left-"
he got cut off as connix interrupted, a determined look on her face. "we'll work with whatever we can, captain."

rey's attention was quick to turn to the rebel cruiser right after her hand grasped her lightsaber. the ship trembled for a moment, but that was nothing in comparison to what they were about to withstand. still, she nodded. ben knew more of the ship than she did, and trusted that he was correct. her next words she chose carefully. the last thing she wanted to do was harm who she previously called her friends. she had hope that they could see what she did, realize the potential in ben's plan, but another part of her knew that could never happen. "we need to bring forces to that planet, intercept them before they have a chance to-" she was cut off as the cruiser took off, blasting with amazing force into the ship. the ground shook, sending her companion onto the ground. rey did her best to stand her ground, trying to stay balanced but falling to her knees, using both hands ahead of her to steady herself. the shaking only lasted for about a minute before the broken ship was able to use what still worked, and by the time it was over her ears rang loudly with the blow.

the shaking had lasted for only a minute or so, and once the trembles of the ship had stopped- he had looked at rey. "you were saying--" before allowing rey to continue on with what she was about to say, hux had stormed into the room. his eyes first capturing snoke's detached body. the look of disgust on his face was apparent, and his pale hand went to his blaster until he saw rey and him united on the floor. ben shakily stood and looked at the ginger who wiped the look of anger off his face. "supreme leader snoke-- the girl, what's gotten into you?" ben held onto his lightsaber for the comfort he needed, and braced himself for armitage's lecture. "snoke's dead, and now i'm-no, rey and i are starting over; with clean slate-" hux's face had warped back into irritated mien as before. "start over? with no supreme leader-" ben had lashed out within seconds of armitage's smart tone with him. raising his arm only just a little, he grabbed hux's throat with the force, "your supreme leader is dead. your best choice right now is to help us, and to do that- we need to land on crait." looking over at rey for approval, he heard hux softly mutter something along the lines of "long live supreme leader snoke."

finn // the "stormtrooper" — male — w/ rose & bb-8
riding with rose, and bb-8 to an escape pod only to find that they were destroyed left finn feeling a little hopeless. rose on the other hand was very determined, "come on finn! we could steal one of the working ships- i mean, it could be worse." her cheerful tone brought him back to realizing that he shouldn't be moping around. when he got back home, he could see rey, and poe again; and this time, he could be reunited instead of being in a coma. "right... yeah, a ship- i think there's one over there!" pointing to what looked like a stable ship, the trio ran over throughout the flames to see the ship a bit scratched. getting tugged on board, bb-8 stationed himself in the back before beeping obnoxiously. "crait huh? what's up with that place?" rose asked while she started up the ship in quite a fast manner. "crait.... that's where the base was previously run from-they're probably just trying to hide there currently." finn suggested as the ship left the somewhat destroyed ship.

the few remaining transporters had successfully landed inside the stronghold in crait's mineral mountains, unboarding and gathering whatever dusty supplies they could to figure out their mess. from what he saw, poe had a couple of half-working ski speeders to work with, and even with that their odds were low. a series of calls from the front where the heavy gate was only slightly open called his attention as they began to prep for whatever was coming next. his worry for the wellbeing of the others was a welcome replacement for his anxiety about those who they'd lost, and those they might have. it took all his focus not to fear the loss of bb-8 and finn.

rey was quick to push back to her feet as soon as the tremors stopped, readjusting her grip on the saber before looking over as hux, a rather squirrely looking man, stormed his way in. there was some amount of irritation as he protested, feeling a bit relieved that ben shut him up. "once we get down there, we can try to convince them to stop their resistance. if they don't.." she didn't want to think about that, all her hope riding on the unlikely possibility of the rebels joining them. she didn't want to lose finn, most of all. she never got a chance to say anything to him after his coma. she didn't even know if he was still alive, hell, if anyone back with the rebels was still alive. she couldn't say who did and didn't survive the first order's destruction of those transporters.

ben solo // kylo ren (?) — male — w/ rey & hux
nodding his head slowly, he dropped hux without really thinking about it. "the remaining ships... troops, gather them, and let's go to crait. understood?" wavering his hand in front of hux, the ginger squeamishly nodded his head in discomfort. looking over at rey, he started to walk down the runway out of snoke's temple; the red walls now disappearing as he walked side by side to the blinding white walls. while ben walked to the elevator, he had the slightest feeling that it wasn't going to work. turning his head to look at hux, he now knew they were going to have to take the stairs. opening the door that lead to them, ben started to run. as they descended downwards, the thought was now replaced with- how many troopers did they have left? finding the exit door, he allowed hux to lead the way to the AT-AT'S, and other smaller ships which looked like cargo ships. before boarding one of the walkers, he heard the simmering thoughts of rey's anxious nerves booming loudly. glancing at her for a passing second, he sighed. "rey- whatever happens on crait... happens. don't think about the past, don't even think about the future. your past friendships are no more. everything's different now." hoping his little speech brought some sort of tranquility to rey, he turned on his heels to leave. watching as the ships departed, ben knew that everything rested on his shoulders. no more luke, no more snoke... nothing was stopping him at this point.

finn // the "stormtrooper" — male — w/ rose & bb-8
the bumpy ride over to crait had finn strangled up in his own nerves. he wondered how many people were alive at this point. they had lost so many, and he didn't want to lose anyone else; he was already on his knees, mentally praying for peace. as rose simmered in on crait, the ship started to get shot at. the slight screams from him, and rose were quieted when the ship hit the ground. their heads bobbed at the impact, and the terror that set on rose's face when she lost control of the ship had finally settled in. while their ship was bouncing around, finn saw the large door that was shutting- closing his eyes, he realized that they could get smushed. what brought him to open his eyes was the sound of rose pestering him to open his eyes. they had made it inside, and the remaining threatened rebels had shot at their ship. "don't shoot! don't shoot! it's us!" the two of them both shouted in unison as they opened the hatch of the ship. peeking their heads out from the destroyed ship, finn eyed the small group of petrified rebels. his eyes first landed on leia who stood proudly before allowing his eyes to land on poe. feeling a bit speechless, he hopped out of the ship while bb-8 rolled out in excitement to see poe again.

as soon as the first ship was spotted barreling toward the open door, people scrambled to close it in time. poe reached for his blaster, holding it close as he backed up. he'd misunderstood the velocity of the ship as it barely scratched the bottom of the door and skidded to a stop only yards away from him. he stumbled back a little, quickly joining the line of armed rebels as they began to pepper the ship's surface with bullets. the panic of the moment almost caused him to miss the shouts, but as soon as he saw finn's head poke out of the battered ship, his weapon dropped, a bright smile spreading on his face."finn! you're alive!" he exclaimed, looking from him to rose, before remembering bb-8. "where's my droid?" as if on cue, the little orange and white ball rolled out excitedly beeping with joy. poe dropped to his knees, blaster hitting the ground as he greeted bb-8. "buddy!" he murmured, incredibly relieved to see both his closest companions alive and well.

she was quick to follow behind ben and hux, they knew the way, and she was as good as lost in the ship. upon reaching the hangar. she knew she had many eyes on her, wondering what this strange girl was doing here, but ignored them. none of that mattered anymore- beside ben, they could do so much together. that was what mattered. he picked up on her anxiety quickly, not to her surprise as she turned to face him. everything's different now- the words resonated with her as he turned to board the at-at, responding with a confident nod. she had to be willing to leave her past behind for this. it was the end of an era, and the start of something new. she boarded the at-at with a new air of focus, now.

ben solo // kylo ren (?) — male — w/ rey & hux
leaving the hangar to arrive on the enemy base left ben in a quiet state. sitting himself down, the raven haired man was working away at the false confidence that he had, and glanced over at hux who seemingly stared at him without any hesitation. he knew that the partnership between him and armitage was appalling, and so, he was hoping that after this new outbreak; hux would run free. the ginger only seemed like a stuck up to snoke anyways. putting more of his focus on crait, he stood when arriving. letting the AT-AT's roam free, and some of the troops on ground to shoot, he looked over at hux. "the canon should due- it'll catch their attention, not to mention, their door will blow." armitage gave a slide glance before ordering the troops to set out the large canon in the red salt. "we'll do this painfully slow, unless they have a plan." he pointed at the rebel's base, his eyes now glowing with excitement.

finn // the "stormtrooper" — male — w/ rebels
grabbing at rose for help out of the destroyed ship, he looked over at poe who seemed like a bundle of a mess. "poe! you're alive... and-" he glanced again around the room of rebels before looking over at leia's stubborn posture. "and, this is everyone left?" his brown eyes met poe's brown orbs in an attempt to calm himself. how were they going to support themselves with this tiny of an 'army'? they were surely doomed. "w-what, do we do?" the emphatic noises of the door being shot at caught not only his attention, but a lot of the rebel's as well. where was rey, and luke skywalker? what was going to happen now?

poe stood up, grabbing his blaster once more as bb-8 looked up at the rebels. "all that's left of us..." it was a bit hard to say that phrase, but the man wasn't about to give up. "the one thing we can do. face em with what we have." he turned to face the ragged group of rebels, scanning their faces. they were in varying stages of either stress or grief, except for leia, ever a beacon of hope. the sound of the shots against the door only served as reminders to get moving. "If we can get fighters out there in the trenches, we might be able to hold our own. they can't break the doors, right?" he was unsure of this statement, looking to finn with a concerned gaze.

rey took her place behind those at work at the control board, watching intently as they set down the cannon and began its slow roll toward the great doors. "and how long will it take to crack their defenses?" she wasn't sure of either the state of the old base, or how powerful the cannon was, but either way it would be relatively easy to grab their attention regardless. she was no longer thinking of those inside, having forcefully shut those thoughts out as the first step to forgetting her former alliances.
