Devyn was a bit confused when he paused but then continued his sentence. She was a bit curious on what he was going to say, but she shouldn’t ask and seem nosy. “That sounds nice”, she replied to his last sentence, nodding her head

"Yeah, it'll be a good paying job, and I'm already top of the class," he remarked, not trying to boast, but also trying to impress her somewhat. August grinned at her and also asked, "What are you studying in college? Looking for a volleyball scholarship, maybe?"

Devyn smiled at him, pretty impressed by how good he was. “How did you know?”, she asked when he asked about her studies in college. “Well I mean it’s pretty obvious”, she laughed softly, looking around a bit before turning back to him. “By the way, my name is Devyn, you?”

"Yeah, I guess so," he chuckled along with her and grinned a little bit more. When she asked for his name, he replied, "I'm Augustus, but everyone calls me August."

Devyn tan a hand through her hair and looked up at August with a smile. “Well you seem like a great guy, August. Maybe I could give you my number so we can keep in contact?”, she suggested, tilting her head to the side a bit.

"I wouldn't mind that at all," he replied genuinely and pulled out his phone. "What is it? And what should I put your contact name as?" August asked curiously and smiled a bit bashfully.

Devyn gave him her number and smiled, thinking of a contact name. “I guess you could put me as Dev”, she replied. She noticed that all the girls from her team were starting to head out to the lockers and she quickly pulled August into a brief hug. “Alright I’ll talk to you later”, she said walking away and waving.

He quickly typed her contact name in as "Dev" and saved, putting his phone away to give a proper goodbye before she walked off. "Talk to you later," August promised and walked in the opposite direction -- out the gym doors to the parking lot.

After Devyn changed into her jean shorts, and her jacket she then began heading out the doors to her car. The day was very fun and she was pretty happy that she got to defeat the other team.
