The game continued for a long while and the two teams were at a tie. They had to get the finals point to win and everyone was tense. Devyn spiked the ball and the second team was too slow to catch it so it ended up landing on the floor, allowing Devyn’s team to win. The people cheered while some groaned but either way, Devyn was happy they had won.

He smiled and cheered for the other team while people got up from their seats, some of them shoving him "accidentally" as they walked past. The other team huddled together and congratulated each other, but the home team scattered from each other, clearly despondent.

Devyn squealed I’m excitedment and watched some of the teams members parents’ come over to congratulate them and son fans cane to take pictures as well. She watched the other team sadly walk away to their locker room and she felt bad, but proud nonetheless.

He stood up and lingered at the back of the crowd, wanting to congratulate the players. Maybe even try to talk to that one girl he noticed. August fidgeted and bit his lip, unsure of how to start a conversation.

The crowd soon began to get smaller and smaller and Devyn noticed a guy who had stayed behind. She walked up to him and put up her brightest smile. “Hey!”, she greeted, sticking out her hand to shake his.

"Oh, hi," he responded quickly, a bit surprised that she had seen him and approached him. August accepted her hand and gave a firm shake, but not too hard. "That was a good game you played."

Devyn smiled at his compliment and dropped her hand after the handshake. “Thanks”, she replied letting her hair down from the tight ponytail she had it in.

"How long have you been playing?" he asked and ran a hand through his own dark brown hair.

Devyn thought for a moment, not really sure about how long. “A few years”, she shrugged. “What about you? How long have you been interesting on volleyball?”, she asked him back, having a bit of a teasing tone.

"Only a few months," he answered honestly and laughed. "I'm a soccer player, but-" August cut off suddenly, not wanting to tell her about his current relationship. "But I guess you could say I have an interest for watching volleyball. I'm actually in school to become a physical therapist."
