Check gently picked up his little pup. The happiness in his eyes was unmatched as he snorted a laugh. Dizzy's whole tiny body wiggled as she wagged a tail that seemed too big for her. She snuggled up to her owner, licking his chin and sniffing his arm where he had been leaning against Ruby. She looked a few times between Ruby and Check, excited to meet someone new, make a new friend. Check gave her one more kiss on her forehead before he set her on the floor. She raced to Ruby's feet, claws sliding on the wooden floor.

Ruby watched the puppy for a second before he decided he should bend down to pet her and not just stare and deny her the affection she wanted. He understood how that felt and he'd feel bad letting an animal feel that way. "Hello," he said gently as he pet her.

Dizzy seemed to grin as she easily accepted Ruby's touch. She flopped to lay over one of his feet on her back, her tail still wagging. Check was smiling and blushing, delighted to see the two of them together.

Ruby only pet Dizzy for a short while longer before he stood up and looked at Check. "She's very sweet." he noted with a warm smile and a soft laugh. Cute like you, he thought to himself.

Check scooped Dizzy up as she returned to his feet. He laughed a little at Ruby's comment. "Funny you say that, she's a pure chocolate lab." He said as he held his pup, petting her back.

Ruby snorted at the comment "Well that's very appropriate than," he replied, nose crinkling up as he smiled widely. He was so genuinely happy and he loved it.

Check smiled back, blushing ever so slightly. Cute, he thought as Ruby grinned, his nose wrinkling. Check shook his head a little. Don't stare, you'll weird him out. "So, this is my place." Check gestured around. The kitchen was to the right of the door, with a sunken living room straight ahead. An island bar with tall stools divided the rooms. The furnishings were sleek and modern, and the place was mostly clean. He clearly had a few spots where he spent most of his time, those being a bit messy. He smiled awkwardly as he kicked some stuff under the couch.

Ruby looked around at everything "I really like how everything looks." he informed, it looked much cleaner than his own apartment due to the aesthetic even though his apartment was rather clean and well kept as well. "Do you live with anyone?" he asked suddenly.

Check shook his head. "Nope! Just me. It gets kinda lonely, to be honest. That's part of why I got Dizzy. Place is too big for just one." He sighed, blushing a little. In hindsight, that sounded really desperate. Way to go, Check.

Ruby smiled "Well maybe you'll find someone to share this space with soon enough." he suggested, making it clear that he meant Check would hopefully meet a significant other. He was still unsure of their relationship and didn't want to hold Check back. He knew Check would find someone that made him happier than he did.
