Check smiled, nodding slowly. "Back when we first met. I mentioned I needed one and you volunteered. It was so choppy but I loved it."

Ruby went quiet. "I don't remember that at all.' he admitted. "I don't remember too much from when we first met." he said, in hopes that this would explain to Check that he wasn't just forgetting things about their relationship but forgetting things from that time all together.

Check seemed a little disappointed. "Oh? Well, don't worry, you only drew blood once," he teased.

"This why I'm not allowed scissors anymore," Ruby mumbled. "I can't remember the last time I cut something," he said in a childlike manner, which was strange for him since he was 25 now and rules like those shouldn't have weighed so heavy on him.

Check raised an eyebrow. "It really wasn't that bad, Ru," he assured him. He got an idea... just one more question before he tested it. "Who decided you're "not allowed" to have them anyway?"

Ruby opened his mouth to answer but shut it after a second or two, thinking for a few more before he looked up at Check "I- I don't remember exactly. Either Maria or Marcus."

"Alright, well, they're not here," Check said as he placed a pepperoni and a slice of cheese in front of Ruby. He leaned over to one of the far drawers and took out a pair of old, duller scissors. He placed them down between the meat and cheese with a shrug. "They're there if you wanna cut a pepperoni or somethin'."

Ruby nodded, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. Then took his meat and cheese and took a single cracker, putting the cheese and meat on top then eating it with a small pleased sound.

Check accepted Ruby's decision and made himself a couple more cracker sandwiches. He had no problem brushing crumbs off the counter for Dizzy, who was eating some before they even hit the floor.

Ruby didn't eat much but he did eat something which was an improvement from his usual eating habits. Once he decided he was fine he looked at Check. "So, do your friends know where I live?" he asked suddenly, most likely bringing up again due to his distrust of most things.
