Check smiled, hiding his blush behind Dizzy by burying his nose in her fur. He brought his face back up when he figured he was less red. Was Ruby... flirting? It kinda seemed like it. "Thanks, that'd be nice."

Ruby nodded "Yeah, you deserve someone that'll treat you good." he held his smile but it seemed to fade into something less satisfied than he wanted to appear. "I'm sure that person will come around sometime."

“Maybe they’re already here,” Check said quietly as he placed Dizzy back on the ground. He headed for the kitchen. “Are you hungry at all? I was gonna get myself some cheese and crackers.”

Ruby didn't say anything when he heard Check's first statement but followed him into the kitchen still. "Uhm sure, I haven't eaten all day." He frowned at his own words, he knew he'd get scolded for such a thing. Maria used to do that a lot. Even so, it was normally because he forgot to eat. At least nowadays.

Check stuck his tongue out as he got out his crackers, cheese, and some little pepperonis too. "That's no good," he reminded Ruby. Katie used to do the same thing after they returned to Earth, though, and he knew it upset her to mention it. "Let's fix that."

Ruby stood off to the side "Alright." he brushed his hair out from in front of his eyes again with a faint snort. He really needed to get his hair cut again.

Check noticed Ruby's hair and remembered something. He nearly choked on a cracker sandwich as he laughed, covering his mouth.

Ruby rose a brow when he heard Check choke. "Is something wrong?" he asked gently, hoping it wasn't something he did or something about his appearance as he was already pretty sensitive about that.

Check wheezed, "No, no, I just... I remembered that time you cut my hair." He shook his head, still laughing a bit.

"I did?" He was quickly confused by this statement, he didn't have any memory of this or even any memory of the last time he was allowed around Scissors, much less using them on someone else. Well actually, he did remember the last time he used them on someone but that was a story he wouldn't be telling Check anytime soon.
