why did this day have to come so soon? she wondered and raised her glass half-heartedly. gwynne met her own father's gaze, and her nodded curtly at her. he already knew of her ladyship and that she'd travel with camilla, but he had no clue of her love for the princess. if only, gwynne wished and took a sip of the drink. she soon finished her meal after cami did and tentatively glanced over at the other girl. she seemed down again, and there was nothing she could do about it.

camilla felt like she was in a different body for the rest of the breakfast, like she had left her own and just faded out into the air. she didn't really remember anything after the toast until she saw people starting to leave and maids starting to clean up their dishes. she looked over at gwynne and sighed. "we should get dressed, we have less than an hour," she said to her after looking at the clock. she rose from her chair and waited for her friend before making her way up the stairs and into her room.

she glanced over when camilla suddenly spoke about getting dressed and ready for the day. "i guess i'll have to be as prepared as i can be," gwynne joked lightly, yet followed after the princess and closed the door behind her. "are you doing alright?" she asked, but she had a feeling that she already knew the answer.

camilla felt like climbing back into her bed. this wasn't what she wanted from her life. she wanted to be happy, not just having to be married to create a treaty between two countries. she shook her head. "no, i don't want to be forced into this marriage," she told gwynne. "i know it's what's best for vesa but my parents never stop to think about me. i mean, why would they? they already have my brother has the heir, im just a leftover," she said.

she bit her lip and sat on the edge of camilla's bed, tapping the place next to her as a guesture for the princess to sit down as well. "i think your parents are afraid that if they refuse to marry you off to sereks, a war will start. i know it's not the best, but...they think it is. and maybe it'll turn out better than you think," gwynne tried to encourage, though she was down herself.

camilla sighed and sat down beside gwynne. she shook her head. "i've never met him and i've never been to sereks, how can i be sure that he and the citizens will even accept me?" she wondered out loud. "i wouldn't want to start a war, definatly not but it would just be nice to have fun for once," she said. she sighed. "well, i guess im just pitying myself," she said, pushing herself off of the bed. "we should get dressed, i wouldn't want to be late, no matter if i want to go or not," she said.

"they'll just have to, and i think most of them will. the people of sereks don't want a war either," she comforted and listened as camilla continued before pushing herself off of the bed into a standing position. "i'll change into something a bit nicer, but i'll be right back. okay? it won't take too long," gwynne promised and smiled at her friend. although she was the princess, she pulled cami into a brief hug before she left the room.

camilla nodded. "no one really want's war unless it's really necessary," she agreed with gwynne. she nodded again. "alright," she said to her. she returned her small hug before walking over to her closet. she looked over her clothes, wondering what she should where. she settled on a light red long dress. for her shoes, she wore plain back heels and put her hair into an compacted bun, wearing a circlet over the top of her forehead.

she was still a little flushed from her hug with camilla, so she ducked her head as she walked and shut the door behind her as soon as she was in her own room. it was a fairly decent sized room, but it was on the second floor of the castle where the other royals stayed. gwynne decided on a simple dark green dress with long sleeves and a braided leather belt around her waist.

camilla looked in the mirror. she looked like any other princess but she wanted to be so much more than just a princess who her father could marry off to a random prince who she didn't even know. she sighed before she walked out of her room and downstairs, sitting in a chair while she waited for gwynne to join her.
