in the faraway land of vesa, magic and myths lie in the kingdom. cami and gwynne have been best friends since birth -- one a child of the king and one a child of a noble. but throughout the years their relationship has become twisted; cami is a witch and has come of age to be arranged into marriage. gwynne is a werewolf and desperately in love with cami, but only a lady belonging to her.

a breeze rushed through the open window of the vesian princess. she sat on her bed, her long dirty blonde hair being whipped around by the wind as she gripped a picture of her mother in her hands. she was dressed in her wedding gown, a smile plastered on her face. she couldn't help but wonder if the smile was fake. camilla pushed herself off of her bed, setting the picture aside. it was time for breakfast and then she would have a meeting with her betrothed future husband, prince henry armondo. she hated the idea of getting married to someone who she didn't love and didn't love her. someone who was a stranger to her. her father constantly told her that it was her duty to marry a prince because she was a princess but, she had never chosen to be a princess. in fact, she wished she was just a commoner at times. she watched them often from her window, they would frolic around in the open royal gardens and rush around the village, observing all of the wonders being sold. camilla swiftly changed into a short blue dress. she didn't have to change into her proper attire until after breakfast, thankfully.

she was running a little late, rushing through the castle like all the others were. today was the day that princess camilla would first meet prince henry, and gwynne was anything but excited about it as well. not only was she stressed preparing for it as camilla's lady, but a part of her was afraid the princess would fall in love with him and forget about her. she hurried up the main stairs and made her way to camilla's room, hesitating to knock before she did. gwynne opened the door after she knocked -- the knock was only to let her know she was there -- and gave a small curtsy before maintaining her orginal perfect posture. "miss...i mean, cami," she started and paused, ensuring that no one was around before she continued. "how are you faring?" gwynne knew that camilla was bound to feel some sort of emotion towards this day.

camilla felt like a weight of several tons were sitting on her shoulder, the weight of all of vesa pushing down on her. she felt sluggish. maybe this was the feeling that her mother had before meeting her father. maybe this would work out and she would actually fall in love with prince henry. of course, she had heard of many princess being forced to stay married to princes even if their marriage didn't work out. to royal families, keeping a good face was even more important than the welfare of their own heirs. she finished her hair, standing at the mirror near her closet and jumped at the sound of gwynne knocking on her oak wood door. she turned to the entrance way and smiled. gwynne had been her only stable friend and thankfully their fathers had allow gwynne to become her lady so they could stay together even through the marriage. "oh, good morning, gwyn," she said, trying to be polite even if she was anxious and boiling over with fear. she sighed. "i-i am well," she hesitatied.

cocking her head to one side, she awaited her friend's answer. when it didn't come, gwynne was still patient until she began wringing her hands and sighing, "i was afraid you'd feel this way. i know it's hard and, well...i don't have much to comfort you with except that i'll be by your side the whole time." cocking an eyebrow at camille, gwynne had to make sure that she was alright. well, of course cami wouldn't be okay today, but she wanted to ensure that there was some way to make her feel better. she ran her fingers through her already mussed up hair and retied the ponytail tightly, unwanting stray hairs to fall out. today was a day where it had to be perfect, even if her best friend was struggling.

the young woman was starting to get nervous. camilla's fingers were tingling , her hands were growing unnaturally hot and she knew someone thing was going to happen. her powers were awakening. she couldn't let gwynne see this side of her. she did her best to hide her hands behind her while at the same time not looking suspicious. she sighed and nodded. "well, i am glad that i will at least have you here," she agreed with her. she walked over to her closet and pulled out black flats, not feeling like wearing her heels right now. "i guess we should go eat now, we have a long day ahead of us," she said with a sigh, unmotivated to do anything, even eat. she made her way to the door and waited for gwynne to follow her.

her nose twitched faintly, and from her sense of smell she could tell camilla was filling with unease. "thank you, cami," gwynne replied on instinct and watched as her friend grabbed flats from the closet. from far away, she could tell her hands were shaking. she opened her mouth to ask if camilla needed help, but by then the flats were on. "well, it wouldn't be good to face the day on an empty stomach," gwynne agreed. personally, she was hungry and had skipped the regular breakfast for a chance to be in the same room as camilla. her best friend would need this comfort today.

the princess noticed gwyn looking at her shaking hands. "sorry, im just a bit nervous," camilla admitted to her friend. at least she had a valid excuse to tell her. maybe one day she would be able to tell gwyn her secret. she had come close before but she was always too nervous that she might accidently tell her father or that someone might overhear them. she lived in fear. her people weren't as accepting as some countries. sometimes they were known to burn people who they even thought were witches or any type of supernatural creature. "shall we go then?" she questioned.
