Milo is by no means a shy person, but he is fairly reserved around others and tends to keep to himself, without meaning to be secretive. He does not actively avoid others, but you are more likely to see him on his own than with a group of any sort. Having spent years away from society, Milo probably needs help working his way back into it, however, he is not unfamiliar with basic ettiquette and is polite and well-mannered, though he will display odd quirks here and there and may seem oblivious at times.
Milo is quite an avid reader, yet he has been limited in his access to books, besides the few novels he managed to sneak in under his pillow.
Milo is not opposed to making friends, but he fears getting them hurt, so while he may seem detatched at first glance, he really only wants the best for others.
Ｈｉｓｔｏｒｙ:
Milo's life was very quiet for the first few years: he lived with his mother, father and older sister, in a town close to Hawkins. His family was quite liked, which made the fire that burnt down the house, and killed most of the Vervains, all the more tragic.
One survived the mysterious accident and it was then Milo discovered his ability to teleport to whatever location he chose. However, he hadn't decided on a location while the house was burning down and Milo ended up in the Upside Down, immediately returning to just outside the ashes of his home after.
Hawkins Lab had detected this strange occurrence, taking Milo in, as soon as they found him and told everyone that he had died, along with the rest of his family. Milo was kept under constant watch to ensure he wouldn't try to escape. Every time he teleported he would be very sick and throw up, meaning Milo could never manage more than two teleports within an hour.
For ten years, Milo has spent all day, every day, trapped indoors, a lab rat, exploited for his ability, recently forced to take scientists to the Upside Down and to make sure all their equipment is always up to date. This is an arrangement that Milo has finally tired of.
