Brendon sat up and called out, "Hey Darling! What did you want to show me?" He ran hand through his hair and walked into the kitchen of course without his glasses which were resting on top of his head as he went to sit on the couch, "And thank you" he added as he sniffed and sighed softly, "I certainly didn't expect to get sick" he groaned with a laugh

"Oh, I'll show you in a minute." He said, smiling. He took the soup out of his bag and scrambled around the kitchen looking for a can opener, finding one after digging through almost every drawer. "Aha!" he called out, opening the can and pouring the soup into a pot.
He put the pot on the stove and turned it on. "Should be a few minutes." He said as he walked over to Brendon, sitting down next to him. "And here's what I wanted to show you." Toby pulled the laptop out of its carrying case, opining it to a word document. It read,
Dear people of New York City, now that Police Chief Barolo had announced that he will be cooperating with me, I have a public announcement to make. Anyone, and that means anyone who attempts to get in my way will be punished. However, I am not the bad guy. I am only trying to show all of you how little you actually control how you live your sad little lives, and I will help you regain that control. If you rise with me, we will prosper. I am not evil nor a saint, I am simply the person that is going to give all of our pitiful lives real purpose.
"A bit too serious?" He asked Brendon after showing him the document. "It's just a draft, feel free to help me out."

[size=85]He looked over the document as he read silently as the screen reflected in his glasses, "Besides be to serious, the last thing you want to do is make it feel like they're your puppets, if they feel like puppets they will revolt against, the city, other people, and you, and we don't want that. Convince them you're on their side, make them feel like they matter, that means don't call them pitful and say my fellow citizens, it sounds better." He was still reading as he spoke, "Otherwise it's perfect."

Toby nodded, making the revisions as they spoke. He kissed Brendon on the cheek. "You're a lifesaver." He said softly. Soon after,
the timer for the soup went off and Toby stood and walked to the stove, turning it off. He pulled a bowl out of the cabinet, pouring the soup in and grabbing a spoon. "Hope you like chicken noodle." he made his way back to Brendon and handed him the soup, sitting back down right next to him.

He smiled softly and turned when Toby went to go get the soup, "It pays to have a nerd for a boyfriend." With that he sneezed and sniffed when the soup was brought over, "Chicken Noodle is my favorite so it's fine darling." He took the bowl and sipped from it letting the soup warm him to the core as he smiled leaning on Toby. "You're the best boyfriend a guy could ask for"

Toby grinned. "Course, everyone need a nerd in their lives, and it seems that I've got the best one." He put his arm around Brendon and rolled his eyes. "The best?" He asked, "Sure, I bet guys all over would be lining up to date New York's most wanted." He said sarcastically. Toby sighed. "I do have some bad news, though. Barolo saw me. So he knows who I am now. Meaning that even through he's agreed to 'cooperate' he might be trying to find me."

Brendon
He froze and his eyes widened, "Nonono he saw you?! Toby what the hell were you thinking?! This could get both of us killed! If he tracks you he tracks me and everything falls apart!" He sat back on the couch feeling his breathing shallow out again as he tried to asses the situation around him, "He's gonna find you Barolo has some of the best staff of the world!" He was rocking himself on the couch panic occupying his eyes as gen tried to think of a clear plan

Toby sighed, putting his face in his palm. "I wasn't thinking, okay?" He took a deep breath. "But it's just another obstacle. Nothing I haven't dealt with before. Plus, he relies on you, you're his hero. I doubt he'd do much without contacting you first." He took Brendon's hand. "It's okay. We can beat this. You know him, right? He wouldn't try to kill me anyway, isn't it his job to put me behind bars?" He asked, concerned now. "He won't just try to kill me, right?"

"You weren't thinking? You weren't thinking is right!" He was shaking even as Toby took his hand, "You are public enemy number one, there are orders to shoot to kill on sight on he Vulture and if he has a face to an enemy you very well may die" He squeezed his hand with a sigh, ""You may very well die before we get to start a real life"

"Well I can take it back now." Toby snapped. "So looks like it's something that I'm gonna have to live with. You don't have to, though." He sighed and looked Brendon in the eyes. "If you want to go and be the hero again, I won't blame you. Like you said, I'm pretty much a dead man walking." He broke eye contact. "But honest to god, I hope you stay safe, and if the only way to do that is to go back to the way things were before, go ahead."
