personality
Mae is very upbeat and bubbly, always eager
to learn and please. She sees wonder in every-
thing, and is often excited to the point of ann-
oying those around her by things other might
deem mundane or at least tired out. No matter
how many times she goes out hunting, she alw-
ays finds herself eager to get wrapped up in a
new story, with a new ghost. She can be a bit i-
mpulsive at times, and it (combined with her c-
uriosity) has gotten her into trouble more than
once while out hunting. She’s also a bit absent-
minded. She tends to ramble about everything
and nothing, and often ends up forgetting her
original point. While she’s proved she can be q-
uite book smart, she can be rather naïve in her
expectations of others and of the world. She’s
often far too trusting and ends up in bad situat-
ions for it. Mae is generally very confident in he-
rself, but is in fact quite sensitive to negative co-
mments. Her bubbly personality deflates when s-
he’s upset, and she will often disappear for a wh-
ile to recover. She doesn’t want to be a crybaby,
especially when around others, but finds herself
getting upset over little things she has entirely o-
ver-analyzed. She’s working on her sensitivity, b-
ut the progress is slow going.

history
When Eleonora was born, it was into a mix of joy and
sorrow. Her mother, Jane, had always been a fragile
woman, and complications during Eleonora’s birth
proved to be too much for Jane to handle. Still, her
father, Arthur, didn’t blame Eleonora, and merely
cherished her as a way for Jane to live on. Her mother
had picked out Eleonora’s name as soon as she learned
the baby was a girl, going through what must have b-
een thousands to find one befitting of elegance and b-
eauty. Eleonora started going by her middle name, Mae,
from an early age. It was easier, and seemed to fit her
goofy self far better than the sophisticated “Eleonora”.
Still, her father loved her given name, and was the only
one to continue to call her that throughout her life. As
she grew up, her father cared for her as though nothing
else mattered, showing her books, writing, art, and hi-
story. He encouraged her to be whimsy, and did his be-
st to fill her childhood with wonder and knowledge. He
was a historian himself, and took Eleonora to museums
throughout her childhood and explaining the history b-
ehind every piece he knew. She developed her own lo-
ve for the subject, finding nothing more fascinating t-
han learning the story behind an ancient artifact. She-
planned to become an archaeologist, going to college
for the subject and graduating with her bachelors on
the dean’s list at 22. Shortly after, her father passed
away from a heart attack, leaving Eleonora alone. She
grieved for a time, before finding herself lost and ai-
mless. At 24 she had not continued school, worked a
simple office job, and wished for nothing more than
to be anywhere else. One night, out in a bar, she met
X. They talked for a bit, and she found herself warm-
ing up to this stranger. As the evening progressed, he
told her stories about ghosts, and all the hunts he had
been on for them. His tales fascinated her, and it was
at this point that she realized what she had been mis-
sing from her life: adventure, and the discovery of n-
ew stories dying to be told. She quit her job the next
day, and left with X. He taught her the ropes, and s-
he’s been with him ever since. Despite being introd-
uced to hunting at a late age, she has greatly impr-
oved over the past three years. Although far from
the best, she handles herself near expertly with an
iron dagger and shotgun.
