while shay wouldve normally stuck behind him, or even at his side, she wandered ahead of him a bit, obivously curious. her tail wagged as her footsteps became sturdier. he obviously wasnt as happy as she was, but she didnt take notice of his grumpiness. not in that moment. she nearly increased her pace, but hesitated, realizing that while they were mates, he was still an alpha. and she was still currently an omega. she dropped back a bit so she was padding alongside him. however, she yearned to be running, no, leaping through the forest, wind in her fur. she didnt even know what it would be like, but she knew it would be amazing. so her worries slipped away, and she seemed to be at peace. however, she was painfully aware that the male at her side was her mate. because no matter what she did, she couldnt stop worrying about what her future would be like now that they found one another. she tried again to speak to him through her mind. " sir, may I ask what your pack is really like? I've heard rumors, but its hard to tell fact from fiction when everybody has their own version of the story " she asked tentatively. she said sir because he was an alpha. she wasnt sure if he really wanted to accept her as his mate, so she was being respectful.

roman watched the female closely, making sure there were no signs of danger as she wandered ahead, following after her and taking the time to acclimate to the new area. as the female slowed down to walk beside him, his head continued swiveling, just observing everything around him to try and get a grip on the area. as the female spoke, he heard it loud and clear, listening closely, a soft sigh escaped the male. "do not call me sir, you as well as i know what you are to me," he began simply, his paws gently crunching the leaves beneath them. "some of the rumors are quite true, some of them are not." roman then answered, his eyes surveying the scene with a huff. he didn't like being out of his element, but a good thing was that he adjusted quite quickly, so he wouldn't be too uneasy for long. once he got a grip on the land, he was golden. his mind wandered to the rumors about his pack, some of them so ridiculous he didn't know who was foolish enough to create them. others, however, were true to their word. roman wasn't going to specify which rumors were and weren't true, he wouldn't disclose that information to those who had no business hearing it.

embracing her new-found bravery, as short-lived as it may be, she glanced over at him in frustration. " perhaps I do. but as your mate, I feel like I should know what your pack is like. " she bit her tongue, not saying anything else for a little while. she knew quite a few of the rumors were fake. and with some, it was obvious. but with others, it was much harder to tell the difference. "
how does this even work? do I stay in my pack? do I go with you? I just dont understand " she said softly, ears pinned back sadly. and if she was to go with him, would his pack even like her? would they dispise her the way her own pack did? she looked away from roman,
listening only to the sounds of nature for a few moments. however, she kept one ear perked, knowing he may respond. however,
she wasnt sure. it may have been a touchy topic for him.

roman listened to the female as they walked, his eyes staying forward and his ears remaining perked and alert. "you will experience what my pack is like, no need to learn from a bunch of rumors." he responded calmly, eyes roaming the area. at her question, he nodded simply. "you will come with me." roman stated simply, pausing as a branch cracked, but only to see a deer rushing off. with that, he resumed walking, hearing his beta's voice ring out in his head. 'roman! you sly dog. i bet you're off with your mate!' he internally rolled his eyes, not bothering to respond to his second in command.

shay stayed silent for a long moment. her whole world had changed within the hour. she looked upwards, noticing the sun was at its highest point in the sky. " we should head back. lunch hasnt been made yet " she noted, head tilted slightly. she knew it wasnt technically her job anymore, but she wanted to. not because she was scared of her alpha, but because she enjoyed cooking. she would get some help from the younger warriors, whom didnt have training that day. a lot of them were quite nice and would help her out without a second though. as long as their alpha or beta wasnt around to tell them otherwise of course.

roman remained quiet, just walking in silence. as the female spoke up, he nodded his head in response, turning his body in the direction her pack was before motioning for her to follow him, though she probably knew the land better. once they had arrived at the pack, he turned to shay, simply nodding once again before padding off towards his sleeping quarters, shifting human once inside and walking into his room to see matthew there with a smirk. "well, well, well." he mused, and roman stared blankly at him. "i do not remember inviting you into my room." he stated calmly, taking a seat on the bed. "i don't remember you telling me you were going on a walk with your mate," matthew retorted, sticking his tongue out. "you are not my mother, matthew." roman reminded his beta.
