Suki headed over to the shoe department with her daughter. There were all kinds of shoes. Men and women's, boys and girls, heels and flats, flip flops and sneakers. Suki heard her daughter speak and looked at her, then at the shoes she was pointing to. "But those would match your dress wonderfully." She said with a straight face but was joking. "Maybe some black heels?" She asked her daughter.

"I'd much rather prefer black flats..." She retorted. It would be awful if she tripped and fell in front of this new rich boy. Mei continued to browse through her shoes, putting distance between her and her mother so she could daydream and be in her own world.

Suki sighed at her daughter request, but nodded in agreement. Black flats would seem most appropriate for the occasion. It was just dinner. She walked down one of the isles and looked for the shoes. She pulled out two different kinds. Both black flats like her daughter wanted. One pair had a bows on them, the other were plain but buckled around the ankle. She went off to go find Mei who wondered off somewhere.

Mei wasn't too far off. She went to her mother, who had the shoes. "Hmm.. I like the bow ones the best." She told her. "Now can we please go?" She asked impatiently.

Suki nodded and headed for check out. She paid for the pair of shoes for her daughter. She went outside to the car. Starting it up the car she headed home so she can start making dinner.
