mei is a just a innocent young girl. though her
family is not innocent. they are in a criminal gang, and
was in a cold war with the richest family in the city, the
mayor's family. Once they had a female child, the girl
would marry their son. and after a few decades they
finally did, mei. and this fate fell upon her. she is now
old enough for them to tell her about the marriage.

mei is kinda cute, and mei is kinda pretty. she's nothing
special she thinks. she is very poor, and knows what
things she gets come from stealing but simply looks
away. She is kind, and sensitive and gentle. but is shy
and has a lack of self confidence.

t-shirt and jeans. her sneakers are
worn out and she'll also wear her

Personality & History
Baxter is the son of the cities Mayor, Mr. Quartz, who is next in line for the title.
For decades his family and the meanest gang boss in the city have made the city
a miserable place to live. The South Side of the city is the worst place of all.
North siders do not dare to go there. Many, many, many years ago, before
Baxter was born, his grandfather made an alliance with the Mayor that when his
family had a girl she was to marry the eldest son. Baxter has known about this
since he was little and has been waiting for this girl to be born.

When you first meet Baxter he can come off the rude and a jerk to most. But
really he is one of the nicest people you will meet. He is smart, loving, caring
and yet he hides it. He has trust issues and doesn't get along with most people.
But yet he still is a social butterfly and will make a conversation with anybody.

Mei thought it was just another day, as she padded down wooden stairs that creaked and moaned, threatening to break or rot. Once she thankfully got off the stairs she went over to the old fridge to see what she could manage to scrounge up for her breakfast. Her breakfast only, not for anyone else. She didn't like the criminals enough to make them a nice meal. She was thinking it would have to be just a cheese sandwich for breakfast, when she heard a throat being cleared. She whipped her head around, and her parents were standing there, looking as if they had something to say.

John and Suki went down to the kitchen in hopes to find their daughter. They watched for a moment as she was going to prepare a meal for herself. John cleared his throat before starting to speak. "Mei, will you please sit down, we need to discus something very important." He told her. He pulled out a chair at the table for himself and sat down. "Now I assume that you heard the news about that baby girl being born? Well, there is something the news didn't say. They did not tell of the girls name." He started. Suki was a little annoyed that John was taking to long to get to the point. "The girl is you." she said a little annoyed.

Mei nodded with a sigh and sat down in the rather uncomfortable dining table chair. After listening, she stared at them, and looked super confused. "No. I don't remember news about me as a baby because I was a baby." She sarcastically stated, rolling her eyes. But it was a soft sarcasm. She was not an old enough girl for anything too harsh. "Was the news... reannounced? I don't watch the new channel, and don't talk to friends often. Please. Explain." She sighed softly.

John sighed and nodded "A few decades ago your grandfather made an alliance with the mayor, Mr. Herald Quartz. That if his family had a daughter she was to be married to their firstborn son. The reason for the alliance is so the city won't be so crime and drug filled. And that we would be financially secure. He explained. We also changed our last name so you wouldn't have to grow up knowing that this is what was going to happen to your life. He added. Suki looked at her "You marry Mr. Quartz son and the city will become a better place and we won't have to worry about money. Everyone wins."

Mei frowned as she listened, and it gradually changed to a scowl. "Well I know you're criminals... at least you father. I figured it out like a kid just figures out santa isn't real. But you just now told me about this?!" She exclaimed. It made her more mad that her parents wouldn't tell her stuff like this than the fact that she had to marry a rich guy. She grumbled and placed her hand on her forehead. Would he even like her? She desperately wished it could be a Cinderella situation and not a super cold unhappy marriage.

John looked at her "I understand your anger. I too was a bit angered when I found out you were born. Well I wasn't mad that you were born but the fact that you wouldn't have to choice to choose your course in life." He said to her. Suki stood up from the table. "Mr. and Mrs. Quartz are coming over for dinner tonight so you can meet their son Baxter. We will leave in a half hour to the store to get you a new dress for dinner. You will look your best tonight, I will not have my daughter greeting their son in some rags." She told her then left the kitchen. "I'm sorry about your mother. I know she can be harsh and blunt at times, but she means well." He told her.

Mei frowned at them. The marriage didn't bother her as much–in fact she was quite intrigued–but she didn't want to tell them that. "I don't have rags!" She snapped. Mei was very defense about her image and what she owned. Right now she was in Walmart pajamas that she got a little too tall for, and she had old jeans, and some different sweatshirts and t shirts. But she nodded, a new dress would be very nice. It would be weird to wear the nicest thing she owned, her school uniform, since she'd already graduated. "Oh, no, it's fine.." She sarcastically said with a roll of the eyes.

Then, Mei realized something else they'd said. "Wait! No no no!" She exclaimed, eyes wide, and she flailed her arms into a stop hand gesture. "He can't meet me here! I don't want him to see me in this house! All I want is for him to see me, in a new dress, and nothing of my past life! Drop me off there for dinner! I need to make a good first impression." Mei panicked about her self image and reputation.
