The man tried to give Valentine a glass of water but insisted on the other drink. The aroma of the food filled her nose. It smelled heavenly. Grease instantly dug in. Food flew everywhere. Valentine chuckled. She smiled at the goofy boy. He truly was like her brother. She began eating, then turned and looked at Grease. "You know, you remind me of my younger brother.
It's funny how similar you two are. If you two ever met I'm sure you'd be two peas in a pod?" Grease just kind of stared at Valentine. "That's funny, I don't know too many boys that act like me. I was considered odd where I come from. I'd say you remind me of my sister, but that's a lie. She would never be brave enough to do what you're doing." Valentine looked confused, she wasn't really doing anything. She was forced into all of this. "What do you mean?" With a mouth full of food Grease responds "She would never be brave enough to travel the world or stand up to pirates." "I wouldn't necessarily call it being brave. I just found myself in these situations and I'm just trying to survive."
"Still, it's pretty impressive." "If you say so." Valentine went back to eating. "I do say so." Grease turned and looked at Gawain. "So, how did you find yourself in this situation with her. Seems kind of odd for some one of your ranks to be with a commoner." He quickly turned back to Valentine "No offense or anything!!" "None taken."

Gawain and Clary were just content to eat, listening to the other two talk while they ate. When Grease looked to him and asked him how they ended up together he was hesitant to answer. "Well, she found me in the woods and I looked pretty rough. So she took me in and helped me out, and I worked in the village for a few months... Without telling anyone who I really was. Finding out you are the most wanted person alive makes you hesitate to tell anyone you are that person." he said quietly. "And she found out and I took her with me. Here we are now." he finished abruptly, staring back down into his half empty soup.

"Well that was very anticlimactic." Grease said a little disappointed at Gawain's story. Valentine sprayed her drink across the table in shock. Accidentally spraying both Gawain and Clary, mostly Clary. 'Oh if he only knew.' She thought to herself. Part of her wanted to tell the truth and what actually happened, but figured it was best not to. She looked up and large burly man and saw what she had done. "I-I am so so sorry! I didn't mean to." She said very apologetically. Grease burst out in laughter to the point of tears. This cause Valentine to chuckle a little as well.

Jolting back a bit as Valentine spewed her drink everywhere he sat there for a moment equally shocked at her. Then he started to laugh too when he turned to see that Clary was soaked. The table had caused so much noise that other people had turned to look at them. Gawain put his head down still laughing as Cyrus was telling them to quiet down. He seemed angry but the smile tugging at his lips proved otherwise.

"Well that certainly wasn't anticlimactic," Gawain said, his arms muffling his speech a bit. When he sat up his face was red. One of the tavern owners came over and gave Clary some rags and he fruitlessly tried to dry himself off a bit. Shaking his head he couldn't hide his own smile seeing Grease laugh so hard. It felt good.

Valentine's giggle turned into bursts of laughter. She looked up at Gawain, red in the face from laughing. It had been awhile since they were able to cut up like this. The last time seemed to be over a month ago when they were still at Valentine's house and he was still Robin. She smiled and looked over to Cyrus who was doing his best not to enjoy himself. She wondered how long it had been since he had had a good laugh. Surely it must have been before the situation with Gawain arose. Even if he had a good laugh shortly after he captured them, it must have been far too long. Valentine truly enjoyed this. It made her feel some what, at home, as odd as it may be.

Things calmed back down a little, and Gawain was able to finish his soup without any accidents happening. They sat for a little while after they had all finished, then reluctantly followed Cyrus out of the tavern. In better spirits he didn't mind going about the village with the group now. For a while they weren't at each other's throats. It was a nice change of pace. Eventually Cyrus called Gawain to the front of the group.

"I know that you can fight with a sword, and I think we should find you a half decent one before we go into the woods.
This knife isn't going to help in every situation," he said, handing him back the hunting knife he had brought onto the ship. Gawain only nodded, somewhat in disbelief. The captain turned to look at the others. "Valentine you come with us, Flint you take the others and look for half decent cloaks." he slipped a coin purse into his second's hand, watching him nod and lead the other group away. Now it was just the three of them together. "Now, Valentine, know how to use any weapons?" Cyrus asked as they continued walking.

She pondered for a second. "I'm pretty good with a bow and arrow. Never used it for combat or fighting though,
just hunting."

"Perfect. If you can hit something in a tender spot or vital organ fairly quickly that should be good enough to work with. We are going to find you two enough to work with. In all honesty I am not too sure what we will be up against in the forest.
I have never been in one like it, and I have hardly ever been this far north off of a boat. So all of this is fairly foreign to me. I want us to be as prepared as possible." he said rather calmly. After a bit of walking they had found their way to one end of a market place. It was more so people selling and trading various things from the back of their wagons opposed to the stall setup that Gawain was familiar with. He was left to assume they were travelling traders.

Cyrus walked with confidence through the crowd, eyes peeled for what he was looking for. The gleam of metal caught his attention and he made his way over to the rather large wagon that had stands set up with weaponry set up against it. It was fairly meager and simple, but everything looked sharp and useful enough for him. The man who owned everything was covered in scars from head to toe which Gawain didn't take as a good sign. A man with that many weapons should at least be able to use them to defend himself. Cyrus didn't even blink though, walking up the the man with a disinterested look on his face. "We are looking for a sword for my friend here, and a bow for the lady." The man glanced them up and down, possibly wondering if he should even bother asking. Deciding against it he stepped aside to let them browse what he had. Gawain didn't hesitate to begin to gravitate towards the short swords, picking the different ones up and testing their balance.

Cyrus on the other hand began to look at bows with Valentine.

Valentine and Cyrus made their way over to where to bows were. Their weren't too many, only five of them. Two of them were very large, and would be too heavy for Valentine to use, so she already marked those out of her head as options. One of them looked fairly used with notches in it. The string also looked a little warn as well. She took that one off as an option as well. She was now left with two bows to choose from. One was a simple bow, made out of what Valentine could only assume to be maple wood. The other was reflex bow made of red oak wood. Valentine gravitated towards that one. She held the weapon in her hands observing the handy work. That's one thing her father taught her before sending her off to market to but things for him. The bow was practically flawless, The red wood glistened in the sun shine. She ran her fingers across handle. She pulled in up into position and pulled the string back to test its resistance. It was perfect. She carefully returned the string to its proper position. She turned to Cyrus, bow in hand. "This one."

Cyrus watched as she mulled over the bows, examining the quality of every part. It made him a little more confident that she knew how to use one if she knew enough to get a decent one. Beckoning the man over to him he began to bargain for the price. "How much?" he asked sternly. The man seemed to realize it was not going to be an easy sell. Cyrus was willing to get the price as low as he could by whatever means it took. The two argued over the price, and eventually Cyrus had purchased the bow as well as some arrows for way less than they were worth. It seemed like the owner was desperate to get coin though, because he didn't complain about the money that he gained.

Gawain was off to the side swinging a short blade, getting a feel for it. It wasn't the best made sword, but it was about the right weight and seemed sturdy enough. Cyrus paid for the sword as well, eyeing it himself before they walked away. Now with a sword and his knife in his belt he once again felt a little more confident. "Lets go find the others." he said walking through the throng of people searching for the others among the crowd. He finally spotted Grease sitting atop Clary's shoulders seemingly looking for them. When the boy spotted them Cyrus waved and made his way over to them. Bailey had his arms full of thick fabric of varying colors. They seemed a little worn, but they looked as though they would be warm enough. Making their way to where there were less people they handed out the cloaks.
