The jet black female was laying silently on top of one of the dumpsters that was tucked hastily beside one of the buildings next to the alleyway that her and the others had tucked themselves into for shelter, her paws dangling off the side of the large waste bin as her narrow green gaze swept the street around her. She had barely slept the night before. After the last encounter with a few of the town's rouges, she was left very shaken up and paranoid since she herself had been battered up quite badly. Her ears then suddenly flew up as she heard the sound of a twoleg's gruff groan as they turned the corner and headed right towards her. Right away yowling towards her with one of its arms flailing. With a frightened hiss, she hopped onto her paws and quickly hopped down from the dumpster, racing behind the cover of the large object before turning back. Watching as the two-leg opened the dumpster and tossed a large bag into it, letting the lid slam closed behind it before quickly walking off. The female just left there to collect her thoughts, hearing her heart pound in her ears as she continued to stare.

Puddle Toe kept his paws neatly tucked under his body as he quietly layed agents one of the walls of the alley, his normally white fur covered in dirt and mud from his tossing and turning from the night before. The sounds of the monsters screeching agents the road was enough to make him wake a few times before he finally managed to fall into a deep sleep. Seemingly at peace until, BANG! He heard the sound of the twoleg slamming the dumpster shut which made Puddle Toe shoot up, his pale yellow eyes wide in fright with his pelt bristled up from being startled. Staring silently in shock over at Night Jay who had just come swerving in from the other direction, still doing his best to grasp ahold of reality after being so rudely awakened.

The young female tried her best to keep herself warm, her short pelt not making it any easier on her. Snuggling up closer towards Frost Wing who was laying only a mere whisker's length away. Normally she would try and snuggle agents Night Jay but after feeling around it seemed the female had already wandered off somewhere, being gone for a while now from her scent being somewhat stale. So her uncle was the next best thing, she didn't mind at all though. He had long, fluffy fur himself and she was sure he wouldn't mind. Although just like Puddle Toe the sound of the dumpster lid slamming closed caught her attention very quickly and she let out a yowl of shock, lifting up her head as she tried her best to scramble to her paws. Although the sudden panic only causing her to trip over her own paws and tumble onto the ground like a clumsy mousebrain. Letting out a small and unenthused groan as she just laid there in defeat.

Flight Runner watched the human from the weak shelter of a strange, wood-like box near the big waste bin. Her claws dug into the ground as the Twoleg shut the top of the waste bin, her tail lashing as the Twoleg walked past her and into the Twoleg den.
She poked her head out of the box, looking towards Night Jay, who had just ran behind a large object beside the box.
"You okay?" she hissed through her teeth, her short fur fluffed to stay warm.

Frost Wing looked over at Marsh Foot, his ears pricked as the Twoleg shut the entrance off loudly. He leaned forward and picked the young she-cat up by her scruff, gently dragging her back beside him. "Just a Twoleg," he murmured, his gaze flicking to the Twoleg den's entrance. We've dealt with them before.

Moss Stripe jumped when the Twoleg closed the waste bin. His fur was ragged from the days that had passed since the last time he had cleaned his pelt. His eyes flicked around nervously, the fur along his spine on end. This is what he had felt like since they had entered the Twolegplace, which seemed like moons ago. He anxiously dug his claws into the ground, hoping for the day to come when they would finally find their home.

Night Jay shouldn't have been as spooked as she was, that caught her off guard in the worst possible way. As she continued to stand there, staring out of the entrance of the alleyway she felt the comforting scent of her fellow groupmates wash over her. Making her feel at least a little bit more at ease as she sat down, her gaze now locked onto the ground as she felt her head spin, only now realizing how tired she really was. Staying up most of the night to watch over the others, followed by the fact that she hadn't slept much the day before, wasn't sitting too well with her. The female's ears then flew up as she heard the sound of Flight Runner's sharp voice, "Ugh, yeah... i'm good", she breathed, trying her best to make it sound believable. Sitting herself up to give her shoulder a few brisk licks. Purposely avoiding eye contact with her fellow groupmate as she felt her ears burning up with embarrassment.

Puddle Toe watched as the others reacted, the way Night Jay had just raced back in total panic made his heart rate pick up quite a bit. Thinking they were in some immediate danger until, nothing really happened. Does this cat have bees in her Brain?!, He thought to himself, feeling a strong wave of irritability wash over him from how suddenly he was disturbed. Sinking his body back down onto the ground he had just been curled up on and resting his head against the alley's solid, cold walls. Slowly blinking his eyes shut before opening them again, feeling his gaze drift around all the others. He was awake now… although he wasn’t really planning on getting up yet.

Marsh Foot let out a small grumble as Frost Wing gently dragged her back by her scruff, sighing as she reached the spot where she had just been snuggled up. The warmth her body left behind only barley lasting from the wind's icy chill lingering in the air. Quickly the female moved herself over towards the light furred tom, curling her tail tightly around her body as she pressed herself back up next to him. Placing her two paws on top of Frost Wing's back before resting her head between them. Letting out a small whine as she felt her lip curl back, letting out a large yawn before burying her nose into his fur once again, "Why must they be so loud…?" She mumbled down to him.

Flight Runner nodded and slid back into the box, letting the she-cat groom herself. She curled up as tightly as she possibly could. She closed her eyes and imagined that she was back in her old nest, warm and sheltered from the cold leafbare that struck them. Flight Runner let out a sigh before she slightly opened her eyes again, sleep far from her mind. "Wish this night could go by faster," she thought to herself out loud.

Frost Wing's gaze stayed on the Twoleg den's entrance. "This is a big Twolegplace," he meowed. "Get many loud Twolegs in once place and this is what you get." He sighed, laying his head on his paws.

Moss Stripe's eyes flicked over to Puddle Toe, then to Night Jay. He couldn't really understand why they didn't want to be in shelter, where there was even the tiniest bit of warmth. He curled up and laid his head on his paws, closing his eyes and drifting off in a doze.

Listening to Flight Runner pad back towards her box Night Jay just sat up. Lifting up her one paw, giving it a few rough licks before dragging it across her head. She let out a small hiss as it scraped across one of the nasty nags she had received slashed across the top of her eye before just placing her paws back down on the ground. A chilly breeze whirling through the alley and making her shiver. She had to get some sleep, at this point she'd be no use to the others by walking around getting her fur spooked off by every little sound. Turning her head around she felt her gaze rest on Frost Wing and Marsh Foot, a small smile growing across her features. The black-furred female slowly made her way over towards the two and sat down, tucking herself next to the two of them and wrapping her long tail around her kin to try and help provide them as much warmth as she could. She didn't have her brother's fluffy pelt but at least her own pelt had bristled up a bit in response to the cold weather. It was good enough.

As Puddle Toe laid there he felt his mind begin to race, his paws gently kneading into the small rolls of cloth he had decided to try and sleep on top of. It honestly wasn't much and he knew this now, although it was a bit too late for him to do anything about it now. He didn't want to cause any attention driven towards his group if he decided to scavenge around, plus he was sure Moss Stripe would claw his ears off. In between his thoughts though he felt his gaze rise up towards the sky, it was clear, not a single cloud in the sky... but the stars were barely visible from the glow of this twolegplace. His heart ached to see them again, the ones that he'd stare up to at night surrounded by the warmth of his littermates. That warm feeling of 'Hope' that he had been sorely lacking ever since they set out on this journey.

Marsh Foot felt her body relax as she slowly breathed in and exhailed, watching the faint cloud of warmth dispersed into the air within a matter of seconds before just huffing. Her whiskers twitching at Frost Wing's soft meow, "Can't argue with that" She muttered in response. Feeling herself slowly slip back into a doze, her attention only perked up a small bit as she felt the warmth of another body curl around them. The warm and comforting scent filling her nose, 'Mother' She thought happily.

Flight Runner blinked open her eyes, the early dawn light streaking into the alleyway. She got to her paws and stretched before she padded outside of the box, glad that the sun had brought warmth. She looked over at Frost Wing, Marsh Foot and Night Jay, who all looked to be sleeping comfortably beside one another. She padded over to Puddle Toe, gently prodding the tom-cat awake. "Can you come scavenge for food with me?" she asked quietly. "It was a rough night last night, and I think a good meal would help all of us."

looking like she was sleeping soundly. He stretched his forepaws before he laid his head on them, watching Flight Runner and Puddle Toe.

Moss Stripe wiggled his haunches, his eyes set on a rat that was digging into a Twoleg wastebin a few tree-lengths from the alleyway that he and the other travelers had slept in. He leapt, landing on the rat and crushing its spine. He sat down and started hungrily eating the rat, his tail lashing as he angrily realized that he would probably need to get used to this gross Twolegplace.

Night Jay slept like a kit, her jet black fur fluffed out in all directions from the wind but she was still left unfazed. Letting out a couple stuffy sounding snores over and over again till the feeling of her brother's movement made her gain a small grain of consciousness, reaching her paws out in front of her to stretch and gently kneading her claws into the silver tom's fur. Her lip curling back as she let out a massive yawn, letting out a small squeak before just leaning her head onto the ground. Her green eyes slowly blinking open to leave her just blankly staring up at the pale blue sky, slivers of orange and yellow peeking over the walls. Giving the female a small sense of comfort.

Puddle Toe's ear twitched, the tomcat's head resting lightly on his white paws with his eyes resting closed. He wasn't asleep, just zoning out in his own thoughts. Feeling a gently proad at his shoulder he felt himself let out a murmurs under her breath before looking up, his pale eyes straining at the light before recognizing Flight Runner. Feeling his muscles ache a bit he merely lifted his head up, "Oh yeah, Sure. Give me a second..", He replied, clearly taking his time as he pulled himself up to his paws. Although still keeping his ears perked to listen. "We shouldn't go too far, we don't want to bring in any... unwanted attention" He breathed, giving his shoulder a few nervous licks before facing Flight Runner. Letting out a small grumble as he finally got off his lazy tail and rose onto his paws.

Marsh Foot stuck out her tongue, her body still curled next to her kin. She was wide awake. Keeping her ears perked and her gaze lazily resting towards the exit of the alleyway, watching as the occasional monster drove by... again and again... for what felt like moons til she heard the sound of Flight Runner and Puddle Toe's conversation, talking about food and such as her dark amber eyes staring towards them. Then suddenly the she-cat felt an idea spring into her head along with that longing feeling to get out of this cold place and at least stretch her legs, ‘Moss Stripe’ She thought. The tom had wandered out some time before and he never said why since everyone was pretty much still passed out, but her that was. Hopping up onto her paws she did her best to try and avoid confrontation from the others by quickly moving towards the entrance. Sliding past the dumpsters and pausing just at the end of the alleyway, over cautiously peeking her head around the corner before finally taking a step out onto the pavement. The young female lifting her muzzle up in the air to try and catch any sort of scents from the other cat.

Flight Runner nodded. "Good idea." She lifted up her muzzle, a warm aroma drifting to the alleyway from across the thunderpath that lie nearby. She looked over and saw many Twolegs inside a small space, looking like they were eating. "Maybe we should check over there. It's not too far," she meowed. Flight Runner remembered the multiple times they had to eat from Twoleg wastebins, and they occasionally found some fresh Twoleg food, which was better than the rats.
