Logan folded his arms, as if to try and give off a 'don't care' sort of vibe, or that someone else had told him to go over and talk to Reid. "You're welcome." He paused for a moment, a little surprised, then he tried to play it off as if it was nothing, even though he was incredibly proud and pleased with his placing. "Oh. Well, thank you. Congratulations on your third place as well." Logan replied. He was almost unbalanced by something pushing it's head against him, and he turned slightly to see that it was Jetstar, who was demanding some attention from Logan. "She unties herself when she wants attention and I'm nearby... and not looking at her." He explained, rubbing Jetstar's head.

"Well thank you. I'd admit, I was pretty surprised with our placing but I'm proud of us," he said and watched at Jetstar fussed over her owner, making Fae turn and prick her own ears and let out a welcoming whicker, "Fae's pretty similar, except since she hasn't figured out how to untie herself, she simply bawls until I return. That's what I get for overindulging her as a weanling."

"You should be, considering how many other competitors there were." Logan said, rather neutrally. He tilted his head to rest on Jetstar's neck, one arm going just around her head and he idly stroked her ear and face. Jetstar also snorted in greeting to the other mare, her ears pricked forward in interest. "I'd advise that you avoid letting that happen, otherwise she'll untie herself whenever she wants to. Jetstar learnt it a couple of years ago, didn't you?" At least, he thought, it wasn't a serious problem, since it wasn't often that it happened.

He nodded and stroked Fae's neck, letting her watch the other two. Other than her insatiable desire to be noticed, she was generally a great horse, "I am lucky that as long as she has some form of attention, she's satisfied. At home, my grandfather's clyde keeps her company so I don't generally have to worry too much."
He looked over at the cars crammed around the driveway to exit out on the regional highway and he chuckled to himself, "makes me glad I was last to know. I'd rather wait than handle that mob."

Even though he hadn't intended for the conversation to go on this long, a glance towards the line of cars and trailers that were lined up at the exit told him that it would probably be a little awkward if he was to say 'goodbye', only to end up hanging around for a lot longer. Glancing back towards Reid, Logan shrugged slightly. "You'd think that having Jupiter's company would be enough for Jetstar... though I think she's just attached to me." He said. He then very faintly smiled as Jetstar pushed her head against him again, because he'd stopped patting and stroking her.
"I always wait around... otherwise it's a lot of unnecessary stress when trying to get out."

He chuckled to himself as he watched Jetstar and looked back toward the line-up, "eh, it won't last too long. Maybe another 5-10 minutes. Anyways I shouldn't keep you. You have two horses to pack up after all." He didn't want to rush Logan or come off as not liking their conversation, on the contrary, but he also didn't want to bore him half to death. Fae was practically ready so he'd likely walk her around a bit before loading her in and taking off.

Logan raised an eyebrow, a little skeptical from what Reid said. However, it did give him a bit of an out, and it was true that he did have to load two horses into the trailer - and they weren't always cooperative, as good as they usually were. He sighed inwardly, then nodded slightly. "Of course. Sometimes they are difficult." He took hold of Jetstar's headcollar, then started to step away, but then he paused, glancing back for a moment, as if he was going to say something else. Then, changing his mind, he just said, "Goodbye, then." Logan started to walk off, back towards his trailer.

"See you around," Reid offered to Logan's backside. It was true, they'd likely see each other at some point. It's not like they didn't compete against each other or anything. He waited until Logan as back at his trailer and out of earshot before turning to Fae and shaking his head at himself, "leave it up to me to bungle things up." He unhooked her from the trailer and began to walk her out in the enormous vacant lot, allowing him to have some time to himself and run over every last bit of their meeting today in his head, fussing over every particular detail.

He glanced around in acknowledgement when Reid spoke, then returned to his trailer. He, admittedly, did doubt that they were likely to run into each other again - certainly not for a while, anyway. Not that it mattered too much to him, though. Logan spent a little while just tending to his horses, until it seemed that it was starting to clear up a lot more, so he started to load his horses into the trailer - starting with Jupiter. Fortunately, both of them behaved extremely well, which he praised them both for, then he made sure everything was locked and secure, and that he had picked up everything of his, so that he wouldn't leave anything behind. Finally, he went and got changed out of his riding gear, and into a casual t-shirt and jeans, so that he would be comfortable when driving home.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Logan leaned back against the headrest for a few moments, then he started the engine up.

Once they completed one long arc around the parking lot, Reid could see the line-up had shrunk considerably in size. Turning back to the trailer, he pulled out an apple pumice treat and held it in his hand, a useful trick he picked up early with Fae. He got her into the trailer effortlessly, securing her inside and feeding her the prize. Once the trailer and truck were secure, he hopped into the cab and gunned the truck to life. Turning around, he drove over to the end of the line and began to wait. Luckily, they didn't wait long until both of them were on the highway on their way back home.
