At the arena, Logan stood, waiting, for the announcements to be made. He was a little on-edge, because he really wanted to have done well with both of his horses, and to be up on the podium. Eventually, he heard the loudspeaker, as the places for the Beginner-class Dressage tests were called. Logan mounted Jupiter, handing the reins of Jetstar to a volunteer at the showground, so that they could keep hold of her for the time being, while Logan was in the arena. Soon, he heard his name being called, having taken fourth place with Jupiter (or, as he was referred to as his show name, Jupiter Rising), with a score of 83.0%. Smiling warmly, Logan rode Jupiter to get his rosette, and he proudly congratulated Jupiter as well. Sure, he was a little disappointed that they hadn't placed higher, but considering the amount of other competitors, fourth place was very decent, and the score was relatively high as well.
He left the arena, returning to Jetstar, and he dismounted from Jupiter, waiting for the advanced class results to start getting revealed.

Once he had placed the breeches with a note back in Logan's trailer, he doubled back to grab Fae. Now clad in a striking evergreen cooler with matching travel boots, he unhooked her from the trailer and lead her over to the grounds. The final eventing results would be posted last so they had some time in case they made at least fourth; he didn't expect much better than that since they only got 73% in dressage. Guess we were too ambitious with the half-pass.
He found the back of the crowd and decided to wait with Fae there. Not that she'd be skittish, but he didn't feel particularly social.

While he waited, Logan rubbed and patted Jupiter's neck, incredibly pleased with him. He knew that Jupiter must have seemed more energetic and as though he might pull into an excited canter than he originally thought, but that was something that they could work on later.
As the other levels were announced, at the advanced results, Logan somewhat nervously held onto Jetstar's reins and twisted a hand into her mane. Sure enough, his name was called out, placing second with 79% with Jetstar - or, rather, 'Midnight Elegance'. Logan quickly smoothed out Jetstar's mane with his fingers, then he mounted her, riding to the arena. He smiled brightly, glancing out around at the crowd. He couldn't quite believe that they'd placed high, but he was not going to question it.
After he got his rosette, Logan rode out of the arena, then he started patting and rubbing Jetstar's neck.

From his spot in the back, he heard Logan win the second and gave him an applause. It must have been for his performance with the friesian who naturally looked great under his tutelage. They then proceeded to call out winners for the hunter class, then the jumper class. As expected, they made honourable mention since a lot of people made the jump-off. Finally, they were deliberating the point results for the eventers leaving him and the few others who thought they did well. They went through the honourable mentions, then named him at third with a score of 246. Blinking in shock, he lead the mare towards the ring to collect their ribbon.

"Well done, you've both done beautifully..." Logan murmured to his horses, and he decided to stay for a while and listen and watch the other results getting announced. He raised an eyebrow, hearing Reid getting third place for the eventers, and he also - politely - joined in with the applause, watching as he went to get his ribbon.
Finally, he started to walk back towards the temporary stalls - and also enlisting the help of a volunteer - so that he could make sure he was not about to leave anything behind before going back to his trailer. It had been a long day, and he knew both horses would be tired.
Once he was back at his trailer, with all of his things, he tied his horses to just outside his trailer, untacking them and giving them a rub down, and then also ensuring that they were given a drink of water. All the while, he spoke to Jetstar and Jupiter quietly, praising them, and just making idle, one-sided conversation. He also found his breeches had been left there, with a note, which he read over.

They both walked in and took their spot on the podium, received their ribbon and a handshake from the officials. Perhaps because he'd never had this moment before, Reid was completely dumbfounded. They stood and waited until everyone was congratulated before leaving the ring. The reality of their victory hit him outside the ring and he hugged the mare out of joy, "we actually did it this time!"
Feeling pleased with himself, they both headed back to the trailer so they could pack up and get home. As much as gran and gramps weren't 100% into the showing business, he kew they'd be proud to see them arrive with a white ribbon for the stall.

While he was pleased that his breeches had been returned, he was, admittedly, somewhat disappointed that he likely wouldn't be seeing Reid. Not that he'd ever actually admit that, though, of course. He glanced a few trailers down, then returned to tending to his horses. Around him, other competitors were returning to their trailers as well. Logan decided that he'd wait until the majority of people had left, so that he wouldn't end up potentially getting stuck while trying to leave.
He put the tack away, and soon, all he really had left to do was to load his horses into the trailer, then he could leave. But he still wanted to wait for a little while longer, and it seemed that Jetstar and Jupiter were both enjoying the fresh air still, and the attention that he was giving them both.

Of course, being one of the last sections to deliberate meant that he would be the last to leave. As he and Fae headed toward the trailers, he could see that people were jamming to leave. He managed to get them through the crowds and over to his trailer and decided to tie his mare to the side and let her resume her meal. They had plenty of time before they'd even be allowed out. He decided to take that time to start packing his things in the trailer so he could just load her in when the time came.

Logan rested his head on Jetstar's shoulder, while waiting. It was going to be quite a long wait, but it would be worth the easy get-out time, and he wouldn't get frustrated while being stuck. He took a deep breath, and he murmured, to himself, "Dad would be proud of me... I'm sure of it." He let out a quiet sigh, then glanced up, spotting that Reid was now by his trailer, with his mare. Logan hesitated for a few moments, wondering if he should go over. He knew that he had been slightly disappointed at the thought of not getting to speak with Reid before they left, but now he was being presented with an opportunity, he started to have his doubts.
Deciding that it only had to be very brief, Logan walked over. Reid's trailer was only a few away from his own anyway, so he could leave his horses as they were, since they were still in his view, and they could also see him. He hesitated for a moment, then said, "Thanks for giving my breeches back."

Reid was just finishing tying his tack and Fae's travel things down when Logan popped over to see him. Walking out from the back of his trailer, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't pleased to see him one last time. He dusted off his jeans and rested against the edge of his trailer, "thanks for letting me borrow them. Congratulations on your second place too."
