(sorry for the wait! It's not related to your post, though, it's good with me! In fact please continue pointing out when I mess up. I'll try to research better beforehand but I know that won't be enough. since they can dodge though, I decided to just retcon the paralysis)
'So this is the type of person Athena is.' Kayden hesitated before answering, "A pokemon professor. There's so much we still don't know about our best friends and I want to help find some of those answers. Especially concerning their origins." His eyes blazed with passion. "Different places have different beliefs. According to them, pokemon were created by either Mew, the first ancestor, or Arceus, the creation pokemon, or some other legendary God pokemon I'm not aware of. But these beliefs contradict each other - Arceus can't be the creator if Mew is its ancestor, and Mew can't be the first ancestor if Arceus created it, and etcetera with the other God pokemon. How do we know for sure? We don't. Not right now. But I've kept up-to-date with pokeology current events and I can feel it, feel that with the technologies we have now, we have to be close to finding the answer!"
His hands stopped gesturing wildly as he stopped to take a breath. A blush appeared on his cheeks as he realized how enthusiastic he'd been. "So," he cleared his throat, "yeah... a professor. Um." Suddenly, he gazed around. Their location seemed almost unchanged from where they awoke. He frowned. "I just remembered.. on an island like this, people would usually make homes near the water to be able to fish, plus the view. Even if they had other food or better houses, there would be fishermen willing to sell fishes for a living..."

Mae watched with wide eyes the snivy pummel the fletchinder with her Twister and then enthusiastically cheered her on with a loud "Jolt!". Then, with the fletchinder still coming towards them, he released the orb of electricity that he'd been charging. The fire that viciously swirled around the bird pokemon was so thick at this point that it obscured its reaction to the two moves, but Mae decided that they had to have done great damage. With his advantage and Prasina's evident strength, they must have.
With the snivy having landed a few ways off from him, Mae was first in line to face the brunt of the move. He leapt out of the way as the fletchinder hurtled itself. He barely made it though, and the joltik took a second to catch his bearings before checking on Prasina and the fletchinder.
