Name: Athena Panacea

Gender: Female

Personality: The best way to describe Athena in one word would be smug. She is extremely confident and acts condescending to almost everyone she knows. She is always willing to burst into a situation whether or not she should, and is always trying to annoy people. Despite this, she's actually able to remain quite level-headed and calm in most situations. She also loves pokemon and treats them more like friends than pets. She's a great strategist in battles and is good with adventures in general. If you manage to gain Athena's trust, she'll act much kinder and will be a great ally and friend. It's pretty hard to gain her trust.

History (optional): Athena was born to a rich couple in Kalos, who always tried to pamper her and treat her like royalty. This annoyed her from a young age, as she wanted to earn things herself. Eventually she accepted some of the gifts and money although she still got annoyed by it. When she was five years old and saw a competition on her television, Athena suddenly decided that she would be a competitive battler. Her parents disapproved of this, but Athena managed to convince them to let her try it out. She studied hundreds of different pokemon and strategies until she finally fell in love with one: Snivy. She hired professional breeders and trainers to help her develop the perfect snivy as she worked and continued to study until, finally, she got the one she wanted.
She groomed this snivy, who she named Prasina, to perfection, making sure that no level up was wasted. She borrowed the pokemon in the garden behind her mansion to practice battling with, and eventually became confident enough to go on a bit of an adventure. She brought only Prasina with her, along with some potions and berries, and one thing led to another which led to her sleeping in a bed in a pokemon center. She woke up on this island, where this story will begin.

Appearance: Athena is short for her age, and looks very childish. She had medium-length brown hair she wears yellow barrettes in along with amber eyes. She usually wears yellow shirts and dressed with high brown boots and black shorts.

Starter Pokémon: Snivy

Pokémon's Moveset: Magical leaf, Twister, Hidden Power Fire, Vine Whip

Nature: Timid
Unlike Athena, Prasina is quite hesitant and shy. She often gets annoyed by Athena's smugness but still likes her.

Likes: Winning, battling, adventuring, bickering, pokemon

Name: Kayden Evander

Gender: Male

Personality: Though Kayden is constantly mistaken for a snob based off his face's natural expression, nothing could be further from the truth. He's an optimist with a keen eye and a habit of giving people gifts. He tries to be as honest and approachable as much as he can. However, he's flustered easily, might veer into being tactlessly honest, and is quick to point out when something goes against his moral compass. Kayden is a pensive person who likes to analyze the 'why's, and likes to speculate the reasons behind people's behaviors the most. However, he doesn't like it when others do the same for him since he likes privacy and anyway he sees himself as boring. In battles, this capability to see other perspectives helps him figure out the reason for an opponent's move.

History (optional): Kayden has been in Unova all his life. His parents were divorced before he was born, yet they still remain tentative friends. He lives with his mother who occasionally invites his father over from Kalos as someone to mentor Kayden since he has a bad habit of overdue homework. He considers neither of them as parental figures, only as close friends, and both adults have enough distance between themselves and their son that they also see Kayden as just a close friend or nephew. At age 8, mystery books were his escape from the hassle of nagging from his teachers and nagging from a man pretending to be his dad. He develops a habit of trying to figure out who the culprit is by their behavior. Later on, he aims this habit at the origins of pokemon, which is a mystery that nobody's figured but he'd like to try a behaviorist approach. Wants to be a pokemon professor when he grows up.

His joltik, Mae, is a pokemon he got for his 10th birthday from his father. Mae is an unusually large joltik being at 7 inches in addition to having a thick body and earned neighborhood fame for his size. His parents wanted him to go on the traditional pokemon journey so his father had Kayden practice battles with Mae until Kayden was comfortable with basic battle strategies and his pokemon had grown strong enough to come with. Kayden set off with potions, revives, and a lvl 12 Mae. Like Athena, he spent a night at a pokemon center and found himself on an island the morning after.

Appearance: Often wears a cream polo shirt that has collars that poke out from underneath a teal cardigan in addition to simple blue jeans and black sneakers. He's got short black hair that he'd dyed white at the suggestion of his friends who said he'd gain confidence by looking out of the norm. Kayden regrets it now, thinks it makes him look like an old person from faraway.

Starter Pokémon: Joltik

Pokémon's Moveset: Electroweb, Screech, Sucker Punch, Volt Switch

Nature: Lax

Mae just wants to take it easy when things get rough, which unfortunately leads to training difficulties. But he's not doing it out of spite, he just isn't used to training—even after a year and a half of it. Kayden gained a habit of scolding Mae with a scathing glare, even in public though he tries to fight the urge.

Plumper than the average joltik.

Likes: mystery, kindness, analyzing, candy,

Dislikes: death, mean taunts, unfairness, bittermelon

As the sun began to shine as the calls from various pokemon rang throughout the island, Athena's eyes fluttered open.
For a moment it didn't register to her that she was sleeping on dirt, until she realized she was without a blanket. She jumped up,
instantly awake, and looked around at her surroundings. "Where the hell am I?" She asked herself, her tone confused. She then looked inside her bag quickly, her face worried, and let out a sigh of relief. "Prasina, get out here." She said, releasing the Snivy from her pokeball.
