La Douleur Exquise (1x1 L.G. / Ember )

[Ember1989]

Honey was done playing around. He started throwing snowballs at the twins and Haruhi.

“Wow these guys really don’t hold back.” Haruhi sighed, throwing snowballs at Kyoya, Takami and Honey.

Takami got a face full of snow from Haruhi. He stumbled and fell face down in snow. “I surrender!” He said.

KYOYA

"Tamaki!" I run over to try and help him up. When he says he surrenders, the twins jump and bounce around.

"Yes!"

"Two more to go!"

Once my precious king is back on his feet, I hlare at the three on thr opposing team. "Don't worry." I whisper to him. "We have a secret weapon, remember?"

Then Hikaru falls, groaning. "That actually hurt, Honey-Senpai."

"Something tells me he doesn't care." I pat Tamaki's back, grinning. "Two little words, you three, and the onslaught will stop."

“Well?” Honey asked looking at the twins and Haruhi. “Do you surrender?” He asked.

“Yes we do!” Haruhi said. She was starting to feel chilled. Being out in the snow didn’t help.

“Ha! I guess we win. Good work team!” Takami said, grinning.

“And we were so close.” Haruhi chuckled.

HIKARU

Holding up a white flag, I whimper. "Please, just... stop."

Kyoya grins. "Good." He looks over at Tamaki-Senpai as he's praised. He then cuts his eyes over to Haruhi expectantly.

Kaoru leans on me before brushing some snow off of my back.

“How about ice skating? That’s pretty fun.” Haruhi suggested.

“I wanna go ice skating. If Haru-chan says it’s fun then we should do it!” Honey said.

“Sounds interesting. What do you think, Kyoya?” Tamaki asked, guessing the twins were up for anything.

KYOYA

Ice skating... I stick my hands in my jacket pockets. "That sounds delightful." I beam, so many memories flooding back to me. Ice skating is one of the only things my father and I used to bond over. He and my mother used to take us all when I was a kid, so I'm quite good at it. Though I haven't done it in a while.

“Great! I love skating, although it’s been awhile. Tamaki said.

“Maybe later we can go ride a horse drawn carriage. I haven’t done that in years!” Honey suggested.

“Maybe, Honey.” Haruhi said with a smile. I get deeper in debt and I still manage to have fun. It’s worth it seeing the guys happy. She thought.

KYOYA

"A horse drawn carriage?" I ask, looking down at Honey-Senpai.

"Ooh, ooh, can I drive?" Hikaru jumps up and down, waving his arms around.

"Didn't you break your arm last time?"

He rubs it. "It wasn't my fault! The horse got scared!" He looks over at Tamaki and clears his throat, whispering an apology.

I place a hand on Tamaki's shoulder, sharing a grin with him, before turning to Haruhi. "Lead the way."

“Of course.” Haruhi said with a smile as she showed her friends to the ice skating area. Luckily she packed her skates. She soon put her skates on and went out on the ice. She had heard it was going to be thin in some areas, so she would just stay as close to the edge of the frozen pond, since she still couldn’t swim.

Takami followed Haruhi’s lead and changed into his skates. He then gracefully glided out onto the ice. He was sure Kyoya would join them shortly.

“This is fun!” Honey giggled and skated around the ice. At least he wasn’t showing off. “Hika-chan, Kaoru-chan! Join us!” He said, beaming.

KYOYA

"Be right there!" The brothers finish getting on their skates before Hikaru takes Haruhi's hands, partially to drag her, partially for stability.

I stay at the edge of the pond, getting my skates on. I take a deep breath of the chilly air before tilting my head upwards, catching a few snowflakes on my tongue before placing my hands on the bench to get up. I look over everyone and everything, eyes landing on Tamaki for a while. He looks so perfect just standing out in the snow. Never in my life have I wanted to kiss someone so badly. I'm knocked out of my thoughts by Hikaru falling over, knocking Honey down, his brother, and dragging Haruhi with him. They lay there for a while, laughing. "Careful, all." I call before sliding out.
