"Alright prove it." Raven mused, "Time is a factor and we'd rather not be told wise tales..." She mused thoughtfully at the owner.

Alice pondered softly, "Verus." She said softly.

"Aye... the ancient chimera like beast." He said, "Used to be a legend... is now truth." He said.

[Snowdrift]

The owner nod his head. “Of course. Of course.” He pointed at a machine. “This machine measures the peak level of magic. Just put your arm through it, grab the handle and release your magic.” Jasper growled softly in suspection but he glanced at Raven before he walked over to the funnel-shaped machine. He put his arm inside of the tunnel and he grabbed the handle. The owner nod his head. “Now give it your best shot.” Jasper growled deeply as he used his magic, his eyes glowing. The owner glanced at the machine. “Hmm...first time I’ve seen a number this high. 2487mjc. Okay, now put this on for size.” He handed Jasper a shoulder piece. Jasper growled softly, doubting the armor but put it on then he returned to the machine and released his magic. His ears perked forward as he noticed the changes that he felt. His magic felt more...free flowing. The owner looked at the machine and he smirked slyly. “2860mjc. Impressive.” Jasper took his arm out and he looked at his hands curiously before he looked at Raven. He was impressed. The owner looked at Raven. “So, how much are you two willing to spend?” He asked with a sly smirk.

Verus flicked his ears towards Alice. “Yes, Alice?” He asked as he watched the oven.

Griz shook his head. ”Aw, come on, old man! Fantasy legends stay fantasy legends. That’s ancient mythology.” he retorted lightly. ”You believe in that? Tell me, how is it that that legend becomes a truth now, eh?”

"Mhmm... I mean it's a decent number increase." Raven said lightly in thought, "I wonder if anyone else can make it go higher." She countered lightly, she wasn't going to spend a ridiculous amount acting impressed just fed the fish, she wanted the best price that was actually worth it. "Unless of course it's a good price." She questioned lightly crossing her arms.

Alice smiled softly, "Can you teach me to hunt too?" She asked curiously.

Harvard mused, "Vaal lives." He said, "Many years ago, when I was first brought into the lap, there was an experiment, the first and only of his kind. A legend reborn... corrupted... a chimeric creature sown together by greedy humans." He said.

Jasper looked around as people started yelling out. “My armor can give you more!” One yelled out. “My weapon can increase not just magic but impact level” another yelled. Jasper growled softly as many owners started yelling out and quite a few got into arguments and started fighting. Jasper’s ears perked forward and he watched some of the fights amused but soon he lost interest and he looked back at Raven. The owner shrugged his shoulders. “Down here, you can always find quality at a good price.” The owner looked at Jasper. “Pick whatever you want...” he glanced at raven “...and we’ll talk about prices afterwards.” Jasper growled softly, not sure if this owner was trustworthy.

Verus looked over at Alice and he thought lightly before he looked away. “I am not a good person to learn from. I wouldn’t make for a good teacher.” He mumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck. “How would I even begin to teach you?” He hissed softly, more to himself than out loud.

Griz shook his head. ”Old man, there is no way in hell some human scientist can create such an animal! Ain’t no way! If they can’t make a second generation hybrid then there is no way in hell they can make a d@mn chira-whatchamacallit!”

Raven mused fights were always entertaining. She looked at Jasper. "What do you think?" She asked. "Want these or to try others?" She asked.

Alice blinked thoughtfully. "Mhm..." she hummed with deep thought. "I learn best by seeing it done first." She said.

"Ah! You forget Griz. I never said they couldn't make a second generation... it is that they won't. Selfish humans only want to save themselves." he said.

Jasper flicked his ears slightly and walked away. He wanted to try others before coming back to that owner. He closed his hands in a tight fist. That feeling that he felt...he wanted more of it.

Verus glanced over at Alice. “I suppose that is the best way to learn then.” He turned and faced Alice. “You are slow in your pounce.” He recalled from the night that he first met her. “But I am assuming that you were not in the right condition to hunt to your full potential.” He grabbed a small pillow and he tossed to the other side of the room. He hesitated before he stood up. “You will need to stalk your prey. Blend with your surroundings as well as be aware of your surroundings. You do not want the prey to know that you are there.” He hesitated again before he slowly crouch down on the floor. He frowned lightly, feeling embarrassed about stalking a pillow. “In your crouch, your body is low so that the prey doesn’t see you. And your eyes and ears are forward and focused on the prey. Do you understand?” He asked.

Griz’s ears perked up then relaxed. ”I believe ya there, old man.” he agreed. He frowned lightly. ”Humans will do anything if it ensures their survival.”

Raven nodded and moved to another Vendor curiously. In particular she was searching for a weapon of a certain kind... one that would provide a kill shot from a slight distance. Like a cross bow.

Alice blinked and watched him. Indeed the night they went she was weak and starving. But as well she never had hunted before but was relying on instinct. She moved closer to him and copied his movements. "I understand." she assured.


"Now as I was saying... It was an early experiment that went horribly wrong. Worthy of the title Vaal Nowa, a twisted amalgamation of bones flesh and animal parts... a creature that was supposed to save the humans turned on them. A creature that lost it's mind after transforming into a hideous monster. Alive only though the magic is possessed. It has hypnotic eyes that drove some of the scientists mad, it could crush bones with ease and worst of all... if it bit you it could drain your magic. It has the ability to transfer the magic to another but it never did. It extended it's life force instead. Growing ever stronger with every victim." Harvard said. Mari shuttered frightened at the story. "W-What happened t-to him?" Stalia stammered worriedly. "He managed to break out of the lab... last I heard from the guards Vaal headed up far north in the thickest part of the sickening fog. I heard no one ever returns after an encounter with Vaal Nowa. He stalks his prey and can even hypnotize you to follow his whims." Harvard said. "The lab quarantined the area near the entrance of the fog. Only military personal is allowed in. Course even then I heard they never make it back either." Harvard shrugged softly.

Jasper walked around. Stopping occasionally at vendors to get a closer look or try on certain armor but each time he was left unsatisfied. He frowned lightly but found himself looked back at the first owner from time to time. His mind was made up. He looked over at Raven. Wondering if she would be able to find what she was looking for. Several vendors showcased their throwing knives, daggers and swords towards Raven, in hopes of catching her interest.

“Good. Now as you stalk, you must only move to the quietist heartbeat. Only lightly touching the ground before putting your weight down completely.” He said as he stalked slowly and delicately before he stopped. “Once you are in range of your prey, carefully shift your legs under you. It is your legs that will give you the most speed and power on your pounce. Your hands, claws are meant to grab your prey.” He shifted his legs under him until they were finally tucked and he flicked his tail. “Then you...” He stood up. “..pounce on your prey.” He said.

Griz listened to the story as he looked around cautiously and sniffed the air to make sure that they were heading in the right direction. When Harvard finished his story, Griz grinned playfully. ”Seriously, what do they be feeding you guys at the lab? I mean it makes for a nice horror story around the fire but come on! You believe this, Mari?” he asked, glancing over at her.

Raven waved them off she had plenty of swords and knifes. However one slightly caught her eye simply for the glow around it mhm...


Alice nodded following his movements fluidly she stalked the pillow before she pounced on it wagging her tail with delight. "Caught it." she said innocently.

Mari shook her head hesitantly. "Aye Mari's mom was still heavily pregnant with her at the time this took place." Harvard said. "But I am clairvoyant. Don't believe me? Take my hand and see the beast for ye self." He mused holding his hand. "My power is limited to things I have seen or are in the area. I can't make you see things that aren't real or that I have not seen for myself." He added.

Jasper stayed near Raven as an owner noticed Raven’s eye looking at the glow of a small katana. The owner smirked lightly. “You have an experienced eye. Whatcha you looking for?”

Verus frowned lightly. Alice pounced on it like a pup or cub or something. “Yeah, Yeah. You got it. Just...” He looked away with a slight frown. It would be wrong for him to ruin the moment. He walked over to Alice and he placed a hand on her head. “Just keep practicing.” He said before he looked down at Alice and he forced the same small, empty smile that he always had. He turned and looked to the oven. He could smell the meat now. He flicked his tail lightly. “It should be done in a a few minutes. Until then, perhaps you can keep practicing.”

Griz’s ears perked forward. “Clairvoyant, eh?” He stopped and he turned to Harvard, extending his hand out. ”I’ve met a lot of hybrids that specialized in a few unique things but your the first I’ve met with a magic like yours. Let me look through your eyes, old man. I will have to admit, I am quite curious.”
