Mari smiled happily and chuckled softly taking a sip of her tea softly she looked at him, she listened to his questions and nodded, 'it seems to depend on the hybrid I think, some tend to linger more to their animal side while others stick to the more human side.' she wrote softly, 'Also I think species might play a role in it, it is quite possible.' she wrote and frowned softly, 'Unfortunately hybrids are sterile, they cannot have kids, until Alice is able to heal us, once that happens we could but only with our own kind of hybrid, that is the theory though.' she wrote softly.

Kora looked around, she didn't see any rats yet but signs of decay lingered just outside of the barrier. Nieves nodded her head, "Yes... we caught a glimpse of it when we arrived... a deer was sick." She said quietly pinning her ears back.

Prima smiled curiously and burped when she did, she purred and nuzzled into Kela before she heard the purring and cooing of others, she blinked and looked at them, they looked like her mother but different! She mewed at them curiously tilting her head. "Oh she is just the sweetest! I've never seen a baby Snow Leopard-Hybrid how adorable and fluffy!" A cougar cooed softly.

Norman read with great interest then he blinked. "Who is Alice? And what is this theory based on?" Griz looked at Norman then at Mari. "I think the answers to those questions can wait for another time. It almost time to head to the docks but I am sure we all still have room for dessert, yes?" he asked.

Swift frowned lightly. "This is not good, Kora. If the animals outside of the barrier keeps dying from the plague then eventually we will starve to death." he said, concerned.

Jag nod his head. "The only reason the plague hasn't reached us is because the goddess of healing and harvest put up a barrier to keep the plague away. No one is allowed beyond the barrier." he said.

A tiger-hybrid purred loudly. "Nor have I! And she is the fluffiest cub I have ever seen! And look at that long tail of hers!" Kela smiled lightly. "She is most certainly different than what we normally get here but she is unique and I love it!"

Mari smiled and nodded her head. "Enjoy." Harvard said putting down plates with cake and berries. "Angel Honey cake." He hummed. Mari ate hers happily.

Kora frowned. "What can we do?" she asked. "The forest is our home..." she said pinning her ears back. "Why do the rats bring the plague here?" she wondered.

"I see... but not all animals stay in the barrier espcially if they know they are prey." Nieves frowned. "The rivers near your home are safe though." She said thoughtfully.

Prima blinked and mewed curiously at them. They were all excited and pawed at them softly. The snow leopsrd watched from the medical hut softly. Prima was safe. She relaxed gently.

Griz drooled happily before he dug into the cake. "Can I get another one, Harv?" he asked, his mouth full. Norman picked up the plate and he bit into the cake, smiling lightly. "It is delicious."

Swift frowned lightly. "I don't know, if we can do anything, to be honest." he said. "And I don't know why the rats bring their plagues here but death is not an option for us." he said.

Jag nod his head. "Precisely. And the rivers are the only thing safe... for now." Taji pinned his ears back.

"Of course Griz!" Harv smiled and got him another slice. Stalia nibbled softly on the cake she swallowed whole bits of it happily. "I am glad you like it!" Harv smiled.

".... agreed. It is not." Kora said. "There must be something we can do though. Chase them off. Find something they hate?" She asked.

"... Oh. Oh! The rats are a plague. They don't come near the snow because it is to cold but water is a holy element as well. It is possibly they keep away from rivers or other sources?" Nieves asked curiously

Griz happily demolished the second slice of cake. He licked his lips before he looked at Harvard. "You know what Harv. Just cut half of the cake for me to take to work. I think that'll work for me." he said.

Verus purred deeply as he licked Alice's neck and shoulders, tenderly. "I should be leaving soon. Will you be alright with Demeter and Ebony tonight?" he asked.

Swift thought deeply. "What do rats hate?" he asked, outloud.

Jag stopped in a branch and he looked back at Nieves. "Water only keeps rats away temporarily. They can swim and cross the rivers if needed. But cold... snow.." He frowned lightly. "If only we could have such a defense in this jungle."

Harvard chuckled, "Alright I can do that. Stalia would you like a mouse or two for lunch?" he asked. "T-Two if that is okay." Stalia hooted softly. Harvard nodded. "I don't suppose Norman needs a lunch mhm?" he asked.

Alice purred happily as he did her tail wrapped around his leg, "I will be okay." she assured him softly as shs kissed him gently.

".... well... uh... good question." Kora said frowning softly her eyes widenes as she took off swiftly killing a rat she spotted.

"... who says you can't?" Nieves mused as the air cooled around her. "I bet if Taji and I worked together we could make something to deter the rats." She said.

Norman looked at Harvard. "Oh.. um... i-if its not too much trouble." he said.

Verus kissed her softly. "Okay. If Demeter looks at you in any way that makes you uncomfortable, let me know. I will come for you." he said.

Swift's ears flicked lightly but Kora already killed the rat. "Fast as always." he said. "Let's get moving."

Jag's ears perked forward curiously. "Can you two?" he asked. Taji blinked. "We could?"

Harvard waved his hand. "Not at all. Don't worry i won't put any mice in yours." he chuckled and walked into the kitchen to make their lunches. Mari nuzzled Griz happily.

Alice purred gently and kissed him passionately. "Of course Verus. I will let you know right away..." she agreed softly.

Kora smirked, "Always. Let's go." she agreed and followed after him.

"Well I don't see why we couldn't while we are here... if we can find a way to make the rats back off they might give up and move on. If we gather the animals you should build safe pens to house them until we can be sure... almost like farmers but with local animals here." Nieves said. "It would be better for the intelligents in the area if they could also find shelter here. Intelligents tend to have othet animals of their own kind flock around." she added.

Norman smiled lightly. "Thank you, sir." he said kindly. Griz smiled at Mari and he licked his lips. "Your much sweeter than the cake, babe." he said.

Verus nod his head. "Good." He purred softly as he got dress. "See you in the morning." he said before he unlocked the door and walked out. He walked downstairs, ignoring everyone and out of the door towards the docks.

Swift took off swiftly, scanning the area and searching for more rats.

Jag rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm.. not bad. Not bad."
