Alice nodded and climbed off softly, she blinked, "An inn?" She asked, "Will we not hunt?" She asked, she pondered she might just slow him down, "What if I hid in a tree?" She suggested, she didn't know how close they were to an inn or if they would even be open... would they accept their kind?

Raven nodded, "Alright let's go that way then." She said, moving down the path softly, she knew the land fairly well, it would be harder in the trader town, but not impossible.

Verus let out a deep sigh and he flatten his ears slight as he shook his head. "No. No trees. The hunter called Raven would be able to spot you easier." He looked around, trying to think of something. He wanted to ensue that Alice was safe while he hunted. He would take her on the hunt with him but he worried that her scent might spread as the ground dries, making her easier to track. He frowned lightly with a soft hiss. "Perhaps we can walk a little further..." he mumbled as he continued on the path.

Alice blinked and frowned that was true, she likely could. She nodded and followed after him softly keeping her hood up gently, "Alright..." She said. Thankfully they soon came to the edge of the forest and there was an Inn not far down the road, "There is a building." Alice said pointing softly. Verus probably already seen it, perhaps she could hide there while he hunted.

Verus was pleased to see an inn on the side of the road not too far ahead of them. He nod his head lightly when Alice pointed it out. “Indeed. And it looks like an inn.” They approached the inn and noticed that a humanoid goat and dog was working on the repairs. The goat let out a nervous grunt upon seeing them and the dog looked at them. “How can I help you?” He dog asked gruffly. Verus studied the two strangers. A nervous female goat and a rough looking dog with some age to him. “Need a place for my friend to stay for a hour while I hunt.” The dog growled softly. “We ain’t got room for you or your friend.” Verus frowned lightly and he pulled his ears back slightly. “Is that so?” The dog nod his head. “Yeah. Was completely booked before the storm hit. You two will have to find some other place to stay.” The dog turned and went back to repairing the building. Verus glared lightly at the dog then up at the building. “Do you need any help?” The dog’s ears perked up and he looked at Verus. “You know how to do repairs, cat muscles?” He asked. Verus curled his lips slightly, not liking the name call but quickly extinguished his irritation. “In return for my help, you’ll let my friend eat in your inn.” The dog let out a soft snort. “Fine.” He looked over at the goat. “Think you can whip up something?” The goat nod her head and went inside. Verus motioned with his head at Alice to go after the goat. He put his backpack down and he grabbed some tools. “I’ll work on the supporting frame.” He said before he starting working on the repairs with the dog quietly.

Alice jumped softly, she wagged her tail softly watching and jumped when the dog spoke, he sounded terribly grumpy. She blinked and watched Verus talk with the dog, she smiled and nodded her head softly, "Okay..." She said, she followed after the goat meekly looking around with her eye she got curious about everything, there was so much here she had never seen before! What was this? What was that? Oh! That one was shiny! She wagged her tail curiously getting distracted from her task of following the goat.

The goat let out a soft grunt as she led Alice to a room filled with other animals, humans and hybrids. They were talking loudly. Plates clatter on the wooden tables. The goat lead Alice to a small table with a chair in the corner of the room. "I will be right back." She said nervously before she walked into the kitchen.

Verus and the dog worked quietly before the dog finally spoke with a rough grunt. "Where you and our friend headed?" Verus finished hammering a nail into the supporting frame od the building before he answered. "Barnsley." he replied. The dog nod his head. "If you leave in about an hour or so, you should arrive there tonight." Verus blinked lightly. Was he already so close to the port city? Perhaps he and Alice covered a lot more distance than he thought through the storm. The dog let out another grunt as he positioned himself behind a heavy log. "Help me put this back under the awning here and we will be done." Verus nod his head and he got in position and they growled and hiss as they lifted and moved the heavy log. Another few minutes of growls and hisses could be head before they finally got the large log pillar back in his rightful position. The two wiped their forehead and the dog smiled lightly. "Breakfast for you and your friend is on me." Verus smiled gratefully. "Thank you sir." They both walked inside and as soon as Verus spotted Alice, the goat put down two large plates of food. "Eat up, dear." The goat turned and walked away. Verus walked over and he pulled an empty chair, dragging it over to Alice and he sat down. "It looks good. And it smells good too."

Alice beamed softly she sat down curiously in a chair, "T-Thank you..." She said snapping back to reality she looked around at the other creatures. She felt a bit better being around others but the lingering thought of Raven and the Scientists made her shiver. She looked down keeping to herself she avoided looking at the others. She blinked when the Goat returned she wagged her tail happily, the smell of the food brought her great joy, she purred, "Thank you." She said, she jumped and then relaxed seeing Verus, "It smells amazingly delicious." She said. Before she started to eat softly, it was so splendid hnnn, she hadn't had this much to eat in... well forever really!

Verus watched Alice eat quietly before he stared at his plate. After several quiet seconds, he began eating. Indeed the food was good. It was cooked with care and had more seasoning to it than just salt. Verus lowered his ears slightly as he began to eat a little faster. When he was halfway finished, he paused and he looked over at Alice. "We will make it to our destination this evening. The first thing we will do when we enter through the gates is find my friend, Griz. After we find him, we will determine what our next steps will be from there." he said. He looked at the food and he frowned lightly. He was not use to eating a full meal. His stomach did not want anymore and Verus was not happy with the thought of leaving the plate with food still on it. He stood up and he looked at Alice. "Let's go. The sooner we get moving, the better."

"Already?" Alice said surprised, that was much faster then he'd said they'd be, this was wonderful news~ She finished eating softly, she had eaten quite a bit her plate was almost completely empty! The poor girl had been starving and using magic didn't help either. She purred softly, "O-Okay... but ah... can I say thank you?" She asked. She felt about leaving without thanking the lovely goat for the meal she was so nice after all and made them a huge meal!

Verus stood up and he nod his head lightly. “Sure. Follow me.” He walked towards the entrance and he saw the goat at the entrance. He nod his head politely to the goat, leaving the goat and Alice to say goodbye before he walked out of the inn. The dog was leaning against the door and he let out a soft huff. ”You go on and be careful out there now.” Verus nod his head. “Ofcourse.” He paused lightly before he spoke again. “Can I asked you a favor?” The dog raised an eyebrow. “Breakfast wasn’t enough?” Verus flicked his ears lightly. “If anyone comes by looking for myself or my friend-“ The dog let out a loud snort. ”Kid, I’m an innkeeper. I don’t give two rotten bones about who comes by here. Everyone that comes by is a traveler in their own way. I let them do the talking. All I do is put a roof over their heads.” Verus nod his head before he walked out onto the road. When Alice appeared, he tipped his head to the dog and began walking at a steady pace.
