Spottedpelt yawned. "Foxpelt?" She called weakly, knowing he was still waiting outside. She looked down at her kits. They were definetly hers and Foxpelts. The three little bundles of joy. She had names back in the back of her mind and couldn't wait to suggest them to her mate. Gingerkit, Autumnkit... Tigerkit maybe?

Shimmerstar shuddered. "Around when you were born, I lost my mate, Hazelheart..." He began. He paused, not sure if he should continue. No, it would be good for Halfpaw to know. "I remember what happened that night. She... She put her paw up to my neck and she told me to... To look after our daughter while she was gone. I told her I couldn't do it alone, but she insisted that I had to. She said that I should give the love she had for me, to our little kit." He said shakily, digging his claws into the dirt. He sniffed, wiping his eyes. "And no-one's really touched my neck since, so... I just... Remembered." He said. Shimmerstar sighed. "Halfpaw, you will one day loose someone you love. But, it's important that you remember them." He said. He shook his head. "How can you learn to fight if I'm so weak...?" Shimmerstar sighed.

"I don't mind..." He murmured, nuzzling Rabbittail affectionately. He purred quietly, breathing in the tom's scent. He was glad to finally have time alone with him.

Hollyheart nodded and looked at Pinetail as he left. She frowned and urged to go after him, but knew she might just make him angry. She looked down at Spottedpelt as she spoke, then back at the entrance. "Foxpelt, being late doesn't make a good first impression!" She called to him, moving away so she wouldn't get trampled.

Hazelpaw nodded and smiled at Eaglewing, padding after him. She glanced back at her father, frowning. He seemed really upset, but she didn't know what about. He had never done something like this before. Pushing it to the back of her mind, she sat down again. Patience is a virtue, after all.

Leopardflight bristled. "My feelings?! What, for her?!" He spat, turning to Mapleheart. "He is my apprentice and I tell him what to do!" He snarled at her. Looking back to Robinpaw, he lashed his tail angrily. "You are in big trouble! You are to treat me with respect, Robinpaw! Remember, I determine if you are fit to be a warrior! Stop acting like you're better than me. You aren't even my equal." He growled. Grabbing his prey, he padded up to camp and threw it on the pile, before going to the warriors den and getting into his nest. Pigeoncloud said something to him, but he ignored the tom.

Pigeoncloud frowned. "Fawnleap?" He asked, poking her harder. He looked up as Leopardflight walked past. "Can you get her to wake up? It's time for the patrols." He said. He waited a moment, then glared, as he had been ignored. He turned back to Fawnleap. "Fawnleap?"

Sitting up, she let out a soft yawn and gave a swift shake of her head. "The kits....oh!" She realized what he meant as she became more awake. "Right....I better get the patrols organized." She already had cats in mind for them but needed to let them know who. Getting up, she didn't bother with smoothing her fur out as she padded out of her nest.

The tom stopped when he felt a strange sensation in his chest. He tried to tell where it was coming from but looking around, everyone appeared fine besides an apparent argument happening. Deciding it was nothing, he turned and headed into his den to start sorting herbs once more.

Flinching, she was a bit caught off guard by his sudden anger. She swiftly moved back after that, letting him go. It was best to let him cool down for now. She gave Robinpaw a sympathetic look before trotting over to where Cougarfang was.

The tom stood and swiftly entered the nursery. Letting his eyes adjust, he soon looked down and his eyes widened. Seeing the three small kits caused him to swell with pride. "They are perfect." He saw one kit starting to squirm away and he gently nudged it back towards the others.

"Now bigger cats will try and intimidate you." He said as he suddenly reared up on his hind legs and lifted his front paws. "They will do this move a lot and you will be tempted to attack their belly but be careful. Like this, I can bring my paws down on you with my full weight or try and claw you." He said, swiping a paw through the air to demonstrate. "You need to remember to use your speed against me. I want you to jump forward, jab me in the stomach and then jump back right after."

His stump of a tail gave a wag before he froze and turned his head. He was shocked to see Leopardflight so angry. "Woah.....who stepped on his tail?" He asked softly. "I joke about you being stern Barkfur but you never yelled at the apprentices like that. You just called us mouse-brains half the time."

Pausing in her grooming, she lifted her head as most cats seemed to be distracted by the small fight that broke out. What happened? She dropped her paw back down as Mapleheart padded over to her. The she-cats yellow eyes were troubled so something had obviously happened.

Green eyes wide, he stood there as he seemed to be in shock. After a moment, he blinked his eyes before lowering his gaze. Without a word, he turned and darted out of the cave. He heard Kestrelwing say his name in confusion as he ran past the tom but he ignored him as he ran out into the forest.

Laying on her side, she opened her eyes in time to see Leopardflight angrily stalk over to the warriors den. She sighed as young cats seemed to have such tempers nowadays. Ears flicking, she saw Foxpelt enter the nursery and Pinetail exit. She felt excited as she realized that meant that kits had been born. She would have to go and see them later.

Spottedpelt purred as her mate entered. "Yes." She murmured in agreement, nuzzling them softly. She frowned, hearing the angry cats outside. "What's going on?" She asked, looking up at Foxpelt worriedly. Her mind raced with possibilities, wondering if there was a badger attack, or a bad sign from Starclan.

Shimmerstar smiled. "Thank you, Halfpaw. It was not your fault, you didn't know." He purred. "Right then." He said. He glanced over at Eaglewing. "We'll do what they're doing." He said, rearing up on his hind paws. "If you attack my belly, I'm able to hold you down." He said, dropping back to all fours to demonstrate. "I want you to find another way to get me." He said, going back up.

Barkfur opened his eyes, seeing Leopardflight enter the warriors' den. "I think his mentor once did the same. It's a silly pattern of short-tempered cats teaching short-tempered cats how to be horrible to eachother." He said. He flicked his ear. "I think he was provoked." He said, seeing Robinpaw in the distance.

Hollyheart yawned. Spottedpelt seemed fine and she probably wanted to be alone with her kits and mate. She padded out into the main cave and looked around. She froze, seeing Robinpaw sprint out. Hollyheart immediately followed him, her gaze locked on the tom. He was quite far away from her but she could hear his paws touching the ground each time he took another step.

Hazelpaw thought his idea was great, but just not her style. She waited a moment, then darted forward, her smaller size allowing her to escape his paws coming down on her. She kicked upwards with her hind legs, getting him in the chest.

Leopardflight lay spread out in his nest at a funny angle. It felt comfortable. He had his belly exposed, but it wasn't like he would be attacked. He frowned. He had been so rude to Mapleheart, but Robinpaw just made him feel so angry. He supposed he should just give up on ever being with Mapleheart now. She would never love him if he was such a jerk.

Pigeoncloud followed Fawnleap out. His paw hurt a bit, but he might just go on border patrol. He was pretty sure Hollyheart and Pinetail had fallen out because of him, so he wasn't sure what would happen tonight. He looked around, then spotted the tom looking very upset. Pigeoncloud padded over to him, concerned. "Are you alright?" He asked.

((I know, right? Forgot to mention this but Emberkit looks so adorable! And sad too, as if he lost his treat rights lol))

Giving herself a shake, she walked out and began to try and remember who she wanted on the afternoon patrols. Cougarfang could lead a border patrol.....it didn't look like they needed a hunting patrol since the fresh-kill pile was well stocked and she didn't want to overstock it and have some of the food go bad.

Looking up, the tom pinned his ears back before looking away. He had rather violently torn the leaves off of the mint plant in his anger. "I'm fine.....I...I think I am just hungry." When was the last time he had eaten? Yesterday? Yesterday morning if he remembered correctly. "There is a lot going on today."

"He just got so angry," she said as she sat down next to Cougarfang. Maybe she should talk to Eaglewing about it later. He seemed to understand others quite well at times and he was a tom too. "I hope Robinpaw is okay too. He shouldn't of provoked Leopardflight like that but he seemed upset at the end."

Poking his head out for a moment, he turned back to his mate. "It's fine. I think some cats got in a small fight is all." He went to his mate and softly licked her forehead. "Do you have any names planned out?" He asked before lightly brushing his tail over the small female kit. "Her pelt reminds me of a Leopards, like in the stories that the elders like to tell."

Not expecting that, he rolled onto his side before jumping up. "Excellent Hazelpaw! You didn't do the move I told you but you went with your gut and still managed to attack me without getting hurt." As soon as he finished his sentence, he felt something hit his side full force and he was sent tumbling across the clearing.

He pinned his ears back as he thought back to his old mentor and how much he had disliked him for always treating him like he was a pest. "Glad I don't have to sleep next to Leopardflight. I would be scared he would have a dream and claw my ears off or something."

The tom kept running, his strides lengthening out as he forced his body to lower itself until his belly skimmed the ground. However, he didn't realize where he was and as he jumped over a bush, he slammed right into a solid furry body. Hitting Eaglewing with his full weight, the two were sent rolling along the ground, their legs and bodies rather tangled from it. When they finally came to a stop, he was laying sideways across Eaglewings back and the older warrior was rather dazed from it.

She dropped into a crouch, trying to find a place to attack. She made to move like she was going to attack his belly but dove between his back legs, easily squeezing between them. Remembering a move her father taught her, she used her back legs and kicked at Shimmerstars leg as hard as she could to try and knock it out from under him. Before she could see if it had worked, she saw a blur and realized something had hit Eaglewing. "Father?! Are you alright?"

Spottedpelt nodded. "Leopardkit sounds nice." She purred. She looked down at the two toms. "I suppose we could call this one Sunkit, but there's already a Sunpaw." She said, pointing at the golden one. Some light shone through the entrance onto the kits' pelt. "Hey, this one kind of looks like fire in the light." She said, nuzzling the ginger-brown kit. "But, he's not really fire coloured... What about Smokekit? Or Emberkit?" She asked.

Shimmerstar fell to the ground with a thud, but stood up and went over to Eaglewing. "Robinpaw? Why weren't you looking where you were going?" He questioned calmly, not wanting the tom to think he was angry. He looked up as Hollyheart burst through the bushes after him, but thankfully stopping before she crashed into anyone. "Robinpaw was running and he hit Eaglewing." Shimmerstar told her.

Barkfur groaned. "I do. He's really annoying. I wish it wasn't so crowded. And Pigeoncloud will be coming back soon." He grumbled. "When I first became a warrior, the only problem was sharing a nest with Shimmerstar. He rolled around so much." He said with an amused tone of voice. He looked at Rabbittail. "Could I sleep with you? I don't want to get near Leopardflight." He asked, smiling at the tom.

Hollyheart burst through the bushes Robinpaw had disappeared into. She knew the other cats there and skidded to a halt. She nodded at Shimmerstar, having heard the thuds and groans of the others. "Robinpaw are you alright?" She asked, going over to them. "Did you hit your head? That could be really dangerous." She said. She pawed at Eaglewing's sides, not feeling any broken bones.

Hazelpaw jumped as her mentor was shoved sideways. "Eaglewing, are you okay?" She asked, padding over to them. She was rather annoyed, actually, as it seemed she wouldn't get to do any more training. She rolled her eyes as Hollyheart padded into the clearing. "Maybe we should just go back to camp." She said, sitting down. Eaglewing probably wouldn't want to train if he was hurt.

Leopardflight closed his eyes, trying not to think about Mapleheart or Robinpaw. He let out a sigh and slowly fell asleep.

Pigeoncloud blinked. "Okay, let's get you some food." He said, his tail guiding the tom towards the prey pile. He picked two mouse in his jaws and leaned closer for Pinetail to take them. He knew he had to go on a patrol soon, but he wanted Pinetail to be happy.

"Thanks," he said softly, taking the mice by the tail before setting them down. "We still need to talk tonight." He confirmed before picking them back up and heading back to his den. He felt tired but didn't have time to sleep. He knew he could sleep later so for now, he needed to eat and finish with his herbs.

"I'm alright." He said as he stood once Robinpaw moved. "Well this is a good lesson for the element of surprise. During battle, another cat can come out of nowhere and attack you. So you must always be on your guard and ready for anything."

"Sure. The nest next to me is empty since....well since Eaglewings mate died." He said, glad the tom wasn't around to hear that. "But I don't mind you taking it. It would be nice to have someone next to me when it gets cold. Sadly my tail isn't long enough to cover my nose during leafbare."

Shaking his head, he got up and looked at Shimmerstar. "Sorry.....I was angry and didn't realize I came this way. Anyway I am fine." He just wanted to be alone for now. "I'll be sure to catch something and bring it back with me." He said as he carefully moved off of Eaglewing and started walking as he wasn't as angry as before.

Eyes wide, she looked between them all in surprise. She had never seen Robinpaw mad before. He was usually so cheerful and energetic. This was quite a change for him. Her gaze looked up at Shimmerstar. "Are we still going to train?"

The little kit yawned and Spottedpelt giggled. "He certainly has the roar of a lion. Little Lionkit?" She asked, curling her tail around the kits.

Shimmerstar blinked as Robinpaw left. "Hollyheart, why are you out here?" He asked, looking over at the she-cat. Her eyes widened. "I uh... I was following Robinpaw... There was a fight at camp between him and his mentor." She responded, seeming nervous. Shimmerstar frowned, but nodded. "Fine." He turned to Halfpaw. "I think we'll train in a few days. The weather might not stay so nice and I think it's just not the right day for this." He said. He turned towards camp. "Hollyheart, go get Robinpaw and bring him back to camp. He's not supposed to leave without a warrior." He said. Shimmerstar paused. "Neither are you, actually." He added, continuing to walk back to the cave.

Barkfur nodded. "Well, at least I won't be attacked." He murmured. He stretched and looked over at the prey pile. "How about that we eat thrush?" He asked.

Hollyheart frowned. "Yes Shimmerstar." She said, padding after Robinpaw. "Robinpaw? You have to go back to camp." She called, trying to listen for where he was.

Hazelpaw trotted after her father, not really minding their training session had been cut short. She learned a few tricks, after all, and Shimmerstar had said they could train in a few days. They'd probably go on a hunting or border patrol. Hazelpaw would have liked to train with Sootpaw one day. Maybe she would.

Pigeoncloud nodded. "Sure." He murmured. He padded over to Fawnleap and sat in front of her, waiting for her to call out the patrols.

"Cougarfang, I want you to lead a border patrol. Pigeoncloud and I will be a part of it." She said as she looked over at the she-cat before looking at the tom. "I hope want to investigate a fox scent that was found the other day. I want to be sure it left our territory and isn't lingering about. Especially with new kits in the nursery."

In his den, he began eating one of the mice. He frowned as he found his thoughts drifting to a certain tom instead of herbs. Why was he on his mind still? Sighing, he tried to focus on the food in front of him.

"I like it." He licked each kit on the head before moving to softly nuzzle his mates cheek. "Are you hungry or anything?" He asked, his tail lightly curling around hers. "It won't be long until you are busy keeping these three out of trouble."

"We can do some hunting practice later," he said softly to his apprentice. "We'll be able to work on your hunters crouch and stalking." He stated softly. "But you can eat and rest up before that." He gave her a soft smile. "You did well today besides the interruptions. I was impressed with how easily you landed on my back without losing your balance."

Ear twitching, the ginger female stood up and padded over to the two. "Border patrol? It would be nice to get out and make sure that fox left. If not, I'll give it a nice scratch to remember us by." She said as she lifted her paw and let her claws slide out.

"Leave me alone!" He yelled out as he walked faster. Spotting a log, he went over to it and easily squeezed himself inside. Crouching down, he hoped she would pass by and he could be alone for a bit. Why did he have to have such a grumpy mentor? One that didn't even see him as an equal. Would he really stop him from becoming a warrior? What if he never let him become one?!

Following, she wondered how her sister was doing. Was she alright? She quickened her pace, looking up at her mentor. "Shimmerstar......how come we are the only clan out here?" She wondered why another clan had never formed.

The small kit let out a soft mewl as he tried to move closer to his mother. Eyes closed, his small paws tried to grasp at the moss to pull himself along the floor. He soon found his mothers chest and softly nuzzled into it.

She purred and curled her paws around her kits, bringing them closer to her. "Maybe a sparrow... And something for yourself." She murmured, closing her eyes. She wasn't hungry, but she felt exhausted and she hoped some food would give her more energy.

Lionkit wriggled a bit as his mother moved him closer to her, but he relaxed as he felt her warm fur. He let out another yawn, then fell asleep.

Leopardkit stretched, feeling restless. She wriggled a bit and let out a tiny meow. It was so difficult to move around, there were things in the way.

Shimmerstar looked down at Halfpaw. "There were once two clans." He said, remembering the stories that he was told as a young kit. That clan was long gone and even the mother of his mother's mother was not alive when they were around. "I believe they were called Rainclan. Mistclan bordered their territory for a long time, and we used to live much further into the forest. But, Rainclan's leader, Skystar, had terrible intentions. She demanded that Mistclan give their territory to her and accept her as their ruler. The leader of Mistclan at the time was Whitestar, who of course, refused. But, the word of the leader is the warrior code and Rainclan did what they were told. They drove Mistclan away, towards the mountains. But twolegs took most of their old territory and they insisted that Mistclan join them." He paused, letting Halfpaw take it in. "There was a battle. Long story short, we won. We got our territory back, but let Rainclan keep some. Skystar was dead and their new leader was Silvermoon. He never got his name or his lives, because his clan was mostly gone. Many cats were captured by twolegs. Some became rogues." He said. He looked up at the trees as he continued walking. "Oh, and some of them joined Mistclan..." He added.

Barkfur glared at him playfully. "You wouldn't dare!" He said, bounding over to the tom. He bent down and took a large bite out of the bird.

Hollyheart rolled her eyes. She knew exactly where he was. "Robinpaw, I remember your apprentice ceremony." She said. "Shimmerstar called Leopardflight forward and gave him his warrior name. You cheered for him, didn't you?" She asked. Robinpaw was six moons that day. "And then Shimmerstar called you forward and Leopardflight was so surprised when he was told he would have an apprentice." She continued. "He promised he would try his best to make you the greatest warrior of Mistclan." She said. She sighed, remembering the day Leopardflight had been in Robinpaw's position. He had been so rude to his mentor. He got yelled at too. "When he was an apprentice, he disrespected his mentor as well. But he realized warriors are able to move past the things they do. He's a warrior and he can move past this and forgive you." She said. She paused. She realized how horrible she had been to Pinetail. She was not above him, she was his equal. But she had not acted like it. "Sometimes you make fun of cats, but you don't realize what it does to them..." She continued. "And you have to apologize for your actions. That's why clan cats will always be better than rogues or loners. We share. We love. We forgive..." Hollyheart needed to apologize to Pinetail, but she was ordered to bring Robinpaw back to camp. "Robinpaw, you must prove to Leopardflight that you are his equal. You can forgive and forget, because you know he can too..." She blinked. "Please come back to camp with me."

Hazelpaw smiled and nodded. "I am not a bear, Eaglewing. More a spider." She said. She was rather light, actually. It was rather annoying at times, but it was easy to balance. She pointed her tail at the cave and looked at Eaglewing, silently asking if she could run back to camp. She loved running. It cleared her mind. When she was running, all she thought of was her paws touching the ground, her back arching to the right shape. It felt like her destiny. She was pretty sure she could keep running nonstop from Sun-up to Sun-high if she tried.

Pigeoncloud frowned. A fox was very bad news. But hey, the parents of those kits were the strongest cats in the clan. They would probably be fine. He glanced at the prey pile, it was clear there was no need for a hunting patrol. He looked up as Cougarfang padded up to him. He chuckled at her words and nodded. "Would you mind holding it down? I want a go!" He joked.
