Aspen Trepner
Aspen flopped down on her bed, heaving an exaggerated sigh, her arms spread out to her sides. Bandit hoped up beside her, curling up in a free space and resting his chin on his paws. The two remained like that for a minute or so, until Aspen lifted herself up and sat against the headboard, pulling out her phone and scrolling through a few things. She would have rather lounge in front of the television and watch some Netflix, but that was off the table for the time being. The female huffed in annoyance as a crash, followed by a fit of loud laugher, interrupted what she was reading. Soon after, she maneuvered under the covers, lifting them up for her dog to join her, who curled his back against her stomach. Her arms wrapped around him, and it didn't take long for her to drift to sleep, waking a few times either due to Bandit's sleep kicking, or the noises from the other room.

In the morning, upon leaving her room after changing into a black tank-top and shorts, Aspen found her roommate's friend passed out on the couch, his limbs thrown about in odd directions. She rolled her eyes, glancing around the room. It didn't seem as if they'd cleaned anything up, but then again they were probably too drunk to. She sure as hell wasn't going to take the responsibility. Grabbing her purse, she picked her away over a few scattered cans as she made her way to the door. Bandit seemed intent on coming with her, but she gently shooed him back. "Not this time, kiddo." She had no immediate plans, though would likely go out and grab something for breakfast, not wanting to be home with two grumpy, hungover men.

Aspen was just closing the door behind her when she heard another one open, just a few rooms down the hall. She turned, seeing the same guy also leaving his apartment. "Hey stranger, what a coincidence." Her features were teasing, pulling the door shut before turning back to him. "How's the sleeping without a bed?" It was an assumption, knowing that the apartments didn't normally come furnished and he hadn't likely set up or bought a bed yet.

Daniel jumped a little when he heard Aspen, but quickly recovered and gave a tired smile."oh! hey Aspen!" he said "Ah, yeah, I actually brought a blow up mattress with me, so i slept.. decently." he yawned loudly and rubbed his watering eyes. It was obviously a lie, he'd only slept 5 hours and maybe not even that. "So, what're your plans today?" he asked, his head cocked to the right.

The boy had already mapped out all the stores he needed to go to and all the things he had to get. His stomach growled loudly," I already know my plans so far, and that'is to get something to eat!" he grinned sheepishly and patted his stomach as if that'd help quiet it and soothe his hunger pains. He'd totally forgotten to eat dinner last night because he just wanted to get to the apartment and settle in. Looking back though, eating should've been a top priority.

Aspen quirked her brow, nodding slowly even though she didn't believe him. Both his tired actions and her own experience with blow up mattress gave it away. "Oh yeah? Because I remember the last time I slept on one of those things, I woke up on the ground." Given, a certain canine had likely popped it with his nails, she still didn't think fondly of the replacement beds. She began walking towards the elevator, not really leaving him since she assumed that he was heading in the same direction.

She chucked as she heard his stomach growl, glancing back over at him. "Did you forget to eat like you forgot how to lie?" Of course, she was only teasing. Aspen lifted her hand to press the down button on the little panel, answering his question as she waiting for the doors to open. "I actually had the same idea. I'll probably get something to eat before...well, I'm not sure what after that." She had the day off work, so had no other obligations nor plans.

Daniel gave a short laugh," Yeah, this is the first time it hasn't deflated fully." he said as he followed her to the elevator, twirling the keys to his apartment in his hand. The boy snorted at her remark and raised an eyebrow," Ha. Ha." he smirked," I was in a hurry to get here last night, and being on a bus for 5 hours really crave being in an actual bed." he said," So my head was on the subject of sleep not eat." he laughed and continued twirling his keys.

"I was planning on going furniture shopping, then grocery shopping." The boy said as the doors opened. He slipped inside and leaned against the farthest wall, one hand in the pocket of his jeans and the other still twirling his keys. "I really don't know where a good place to eat is, do you have any recommendations?" he asked," I also don't know where I'd get furniture... or groceries." Daniel had an embarrassed grin on his face, he hadn't remembered the map very well and didn't pay much attention to it the night before.

Aspen Trepner
Aspen grinned, giving a slow nod as he admitted to the fault of blow up mattresses. At least they were better than sleeping on the hard floor. She walked into the elevator as the door opened and stood by the panel, pressing the first floor button and watching as the door closed them in a few seconds later. "Ew, I couldn't imagine being on the bus for that long. As car is one thing, but public transportation? No thank you." She shifted her gaze over to him, her eyes landing on his twirling keys before moving to Daniel himself.

"Sounds like quite the schedule." she commented, quirking her brow. Aspen gave another short laugh as he admitted to not knowing much of all, at least in regard to the location of various things. "For food, or at least breakfast, I'd recommend this little donut shop. I think it's called Micco's Donuts or something? I'm not sure, but they serve good bagels and muffins and such in the morning." She thought for a moment, her lips pouted slightly. "Furniture, I have no idea. I can't remember the last time I bought any, though I'm sure you could just search 'Furniture Store" on your phone." She continued talking as the elevator doors opened, walking out. "Groceries, probably just Krogers." Aspen gave a lift of her shoulders. She wasn't sure if he was truly asking about the last two, but she'd answered anyways. The young woman fell silent for a moment, then spoke once more as she headed out of the apartment building, assuming that he was close behind her but not truly looking. "I mean, you're welcome to come with me for breakfast if you want."

Daniel laughed,"heh... yeah.. I wish apartments automatically came with this stuff.." he made his way out of the elevator, listening to Aspen as she listed off all the places. "Thank you, I'm sure i can find somewhere to get a cheap mattress and all the other junk I need." he said, finally putting his keys into his pocket. The boy stifled a yawn and perked up a bit when the girl mentioned having breakfast with her,"Sure! I'd love to." he said with a sweet grin.

As they exited the apartment building the boy's eyes grew wider, taking in the small portion of the town that unfolded before them. "Wow.. this is, like, way nicer than the area I used to live in." he said, looking to the shops that lay on the other side of the street. "There were homeless on every corner, and it definitely wasn't as clean." he grimaced at the memory of his old home. He'd lived in a cluttered city before and he had hated every second of it. "The air is a lot cleaner here, and so far the people are nicer too." the boy smiled at Aspen before looking down at the sidewalk.

Aspen Trepner
Aspen's lips turned upward as he agreed to join her, happy that she had someone to go with. While she didn't mind doing things alone, even preferring it at times, it was nice to have a companion that wasn't a dog this time around. "You're buying, since I'm being so nice to you." she commented, flashing a quick grin. It was a joke, of course, she didn't expect nor want him to pay for her food.

She turned onto the sidewalk, heading right, as they made it out onto the street, glancing back at Daniel to see his rather excited demeanor. The girl couldn't help but laugh, having never really thought of it before. It's what she had become accustomed to, so she had never considered it a "better" or "worse" city compared to others. "Aaaand, where was that exactly?" she questioned, drawing out the first word and referring to his previous home. Before he was able to reply, she spoke again, adding more questions onto her first. "Sounds pretty crappy honestly. Is that why you moved, or what?"

"Hey! that's not how you treat the newbie!" Daniel exclaimed and rolled his eyes with a giggle. "I'm kidding, I can pay. You deserve it anyways, being so nice to me and all." he said, kicking a small rock in front of him. He shoved his hands into the pocket on his sweatshirt, fumbling with the keys inside it. He followed the girl across the street, half jogging half walking. "I used to live in a pretty dodgy part of New York, the apartments were cheap." he panted as he caught up with her," aaand that's a story for another time." he said with a sly grin.

Aspen Trepner
She laughed at his response to her joke, glad that he was able to take it with the humor it had been intended as. "Nah, it's all good, I got my meal covered." She patted her purse, eyes glancing around the street as she did so. Aspen often got mixed up on which road to take, but luckily had been paying enough attention this morning. "The city that never sleeps, huh? Guess that explains a lot." She gave a slight grin, though couldn't help but be slightly disappointed as he cut the story short. "Alright, alright, well we're here anyways." She pulled open the door to the small donut shop, the bell connected going off and causing the employees to glance up, before quickly going back to what they were doing. She pushed the door open further for Daniel, then walked in. There were a couple people already waiting to order, so she made her way a few feet behind them.

The smell of coffee and various pastries filled Daniel's nostrils, and he took in many deep breaths. He loved the smell of coffee, and donuts, and the smell of the two combined made his stomach growl louder. He peered around the cafe at the few people sitting at the cozy booths and small tables, it had a very comfy atmosphere and he loved it. He'd have to make a small mental note to come back here every so often from now on. Daniel stood next to Aspen and rocked back and forth on his heels, whistling a small tune as they waited. "So, what's the best thing to eat here?" he asked, he'd already decided on what to drink, which was pure black coffee.
