(I didn't even notice any typos, if there were any.)
Aspen Trepner
The exhausted girl took a few moments to simply breath as she reached the top of the stairs, one hand gripping the railing while the other held the length of an unhooked leash. Bandit happily paced in front of the door, clearly not as worn out as his human companion by the three flights of stairs. Were she to be alone, Aspen most definitely would have taken the elevator, but the canine had lots of energy, and acceding the stairs seemed to reduce some of that before bed. That...and a certain old woman may complain every time she was trapped in such confided spaces with the Pit Bull. While she didn't usually take him out so late, his whining has been a clear indication that he needed to relieve himself.
After wiping back the few strands of hair that had fallen from her messy bun, the female opened the door, the dog instantly darting through the opening and down the hall. Aspen followed behind him, her pace much more leisurely. Her hand again lifted, this time to rub at her eyes. The sleeves of her over-sized sweater rode up her arm as she did so. While it was plenty long to cover a modest amount of her thighs, she would likely claim to be wearing shorts under it if anyone asked.
An excited bark from Bandit caught her off guard, and she finally realized that they weren't alone in the hallway. A male around her own age stood with his bags near the elevator, one she assumed had just moved in. Not only were the bags a giveaway, but she had never seen him around before. She was almost too caught up in studying him, that she didn't realize Bandit's rather intrusive behavior. The dog had run right up to the man, giving a bark before setting to the task of sniffing every once of his belongings, his paws quick as he circled them and their owner.
"Bandit, get over here!" she called, only to be completely ignored by her beloved pet. Narrowing her eyes, she crossed the distance between the two of them, pulling the canine back by his collar until she was able to click the leash in place a few feet back. "Ah, I'm sorry, I wouldn't have let him run about if I knew there was someone else up. He's got, like...no manors." She held the leash close so that he couldn't dart back to the male, as much as he tugged. Aspen gave a sheepish smile, again glancing over this stranger.
