[Boomer]

Plot: In a small, uncharted town in Germany, humans and anthros live peacefully among each other. These two groups, along with a few hybrids sprinkled in, have always gotten along. Although something happened that would change the tiny town forever; this story takes place a short time before a life-changing bombing. No one knows who did it and they may never find out.

Name: Alessa Cecelia Gillespie

Personality: Generally very sweet, but very quiet, Alessa isn't quick to make friends. She normally doesn't speak to others unless she's spoken to. However, if she is your friend, she will be very loyal and loving towards you.

Likes: Stormy weather, her toy Scarlett, and taking care of animals (fish, mice, ect).
Dislikes: Fire, blood, needles, feeling like she's not in control.

Weaknesses: She is unable to break bones. She can lift objects that are smaller than herself and weigh less (about 30 pounds, she's underweight), forms a protective orb around herself and whoever she wishes to protect, and uses orbs of energy to hit whatever she wants to hit. However, she gets headaches when she's used too much power/used it for a long period of time. These headaches prevent her from using it for a while, and if she breaks her focus, she's unable to use her power (such as being bitten or kicked).
History: Alessa was born to a single mother in a small town located in Pennsylvania. The pup's mother, Dahlia, struggled with raising her pup on her own and began to resent her pup. At about two years old, Alessa began to display some telekinetic power, which only angered her mother. Dahlia knew that Alessa's father had passed down the gene to her, as she could control fire. Dahlia started to abuse Alessa as the pup started to use her power more and more, eventually resorting to beating her for any small mistake. Growing tired of taking care of Alessa, her mother decided the easiest way to get rid of her pup was to have her killed. She had staged a fire and their home burned down with Alessa inside. Dahlia was able to disappear, not wanting to stick around and be caught. Alessa was swiftly rescued and taken to a hospital nearby; she stayed there for almost three years and was adopted by the nurse she had befriended. Not long after moving in with Mary, she grew to dislike her husband, James, greatly. She soon displayed her power to him, which caused him to leave her alone. She and Maria convinced Mary that they had to leave in order to ensure their safety. They've only been in Germany for about a week.

History: Mary and her sister were born in a cabin in the woods, nestled in Pennsylvania, to two young dogs. Soon after their birth, their father left them and their mother. The girls enjoyed their life, until when they were about five, their mother suddenly disappeared. The two were left to fend for themselves. They moved into the city and were put into foster care rather quickly. The sisters had almost been split up numerous times, but they made it very clear they would not be good if they were kept apart. They later were adopted together, and Mary decided to become a nurse. She had starting dating a male named James in high school and they later married. James quickly showed is abusive side and Mary kept it hidden for years, even from Maria. Mary soon was expecting and had hoped that James would see the error of his ways. The abuse did stop for about two and a half years, but when he started again, Mary had enough. She moved in with Maria and would reluctantly let him see their pups, not wanting to deny them their father. When she brought Alessa home, Alessa had quickly found out why Mary would have a stray bruise on her face or arms. After James visited, Alessa told Maria what she witnessed, they all decided to leave; knowing that James would simply follow after them if they remained in the country, they decided to move out to Germany.

History: Maria's history is very close to her twin's, but she later grew up to be in pageants. She loved to compete and would go on to win many awards. She retired when Mary was expecting her pups and she had a growing suspicion that not everything was okay behind closed doors. When Mary and the pups came to live with her, Maria knew something was wrong. If she was home when James tried to visit his pups, she'd kick him off of her property. Maria was away at work when Alessa had showed her power to James and when Alessa told her what happened earlier in the day, she made the decision to get her family out of the country. Maria was a nervous wreck flying to Germany, but she'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Personality: Bold, assertive, and fearless. This pint-sized tomboy isn't afraid of anything (or so she claims). Cybil is a little spitfire that likes to pretend that she's a police officer. Cybil questions everyone and everything, likes calling out on liars, and acts bigger than she is. Don't let her boldness fool you, she can be a very sweet and charming little girl unless you call her "Cybilly", then she might kick you in the shins.
Appearance: Cybil is tiny for a three year old, as she barely reaches her mother's knee. She has a pearly white coat like her parents; Cybil has short, scruffy blonde hair like her father and a small black spot on her back similar to the black spot she shares with her mother and aunt, which is nicknamed "The Shepherd Spot". Compared to her mother and siblings, she looks like the one that was adopted. Cybil has large, bat-like ears, icy blue eyes, and a bob tail. She mostly wears blue or white striped shirts under overalls. Cybil also carries a police badge (which she thinks is real) pinned onto her overalls. At the moment Cybil is missing her two front teeth, which annoys her when people exclaim how cute she is.
Likes: Playing cops and robbers, roughhousing with her brother, interrogating her stuffed animals, and rolling in the mud.
Dislikes: Baths, being called "tiny" or "cute", taking naps, and having to listen to rude adults.
Powers: None
Weaknesses: Cybil hates it when she cries and hates showing others that she cries. Once she starts, it takes her a while to stop.
History: Cybil is the oldest of the three pups; she was born premature and the first few months of her life were tough on her. With a lot of coddling by her mother, Cybil was able to form a healthy bond with Mary. Although she and her siblings never witnessed the abuse against their mother, Cybil would question why her father was angry and why her mother had black and blue "spots" on her. When Alessa came into the family, Cybil took to her instantly, and was proud to call her "Sissy". It didn't bother Cybil when they had to move in Maria and later to Germany.

Personality: Cynthia is bubbly, sweet, and loves to please others. She is very gentle with smaller animals, especially with mice and butterflies. Cynthia is just a happy pup enjoying her innocence. She is the most sensitive of her siblings and tends to cry easily, to which Cybil either protects her from whoever made her cry or Vincent will explain to her that everything will be okay. Cynthia was close to James (although he wasn't very warm to her) and isn't as happy as she usually is.
Appearance: Cynthia is a bit taller than Cybil, as she reaches to Mary's hips. She has a white coat, dull brown hair that reaches past her collarbone and which is usually in pigtails, muted brown eyes, floppy ears, and a normal tail. Cynthia typically wears pink or burgundy dresses with poofy white shoulders and tights. Like the Shepherd women, Cynthia has a small black spot on her right calf.
Likes: Playing with stuffed animals, tea parties, baking, reading, snuggling, and just being with her family.
Dislikes: The dark, loud noises, fighting, and clowns.
Powers: None
Weaknesses: Cynthia is a bit naiive and doesn't always catch on to things quickly.
History: Cynthia is the middle pup of the three siblings. She and Vincent were born on time and lived a normal life with her family. Cynthia was more close to James, but he often ignored her. Cynthia was upset when they moved out the first time, but settled in after a couple weeks. She's now trying to deal with moving across the world.

Personality: Vincent is a bit of a nerd; he tries to teach himself something new and is the most advanced reader out of the three. He often butts into adult conversations to put his two cents in. Vincent spews out random facts at every chance he gets. Vincent also has to constantly move or make noises to himself. He also likes to take things apart and tries to rebuild them; because of this, Vincent is no longer allowed to use the TV remote. He is also a bit of a mama's boy as he adores Mary greatly. Vincent distrusts any man that approaches his mother and will glare at them until they leave.
Appearance: Vincent is about the same size as Cynthia. He has a white coat like the rest of his family. His hair is dark brown, not quite as dark as Alessa, however. Vincent has a shaggier version of a bowl cut and sometimes his bangs cover his rounded glasses. Vincent has a strange hazel-gray eye color, which Mary has no idea who in her family had eyes like he does. He has floppy ears and a normal tail, along with a small black spot behind his left ear. Vincent typically wears long sleeved dress shirts or sweaters with a brown vest and slacks. If not for his small size, he could easily be mistaken for an adult for the way he dresses.
Likes: Reading, tinkering with electronics, baths, proving Cybil wrong, and spending time with Mary.
Dislikes: Being called "Egg Head" by Cybil, roughhousing with Cybil, being proved wrong, being away from Mary, and heights.
Powers: None
Weaknesses: Vincent has separation anxiety and can't stand to be away from Mary for more than twenty minutes.
History: Vincent is the baby of the family. Even though he never saw his father abuse his mother, he always disliked James. He wanted nothing to do with him or be in any way like him. Vincent was glad when they moved in with Maria and even happier to learn that Alessa would be included in the family. He had no problem moving to Germany with his family.

Personality/History: Kristian is a Teutonic man of medicine.
While he may have a tenuous adherence to medical ethics, he is nonetheless
the primary healing class of the team. What he lacks in compassion for the sick,
respect for human dignity, and any sort of verifiable formal training in medicine,
Kris more than makes up for with a bottomless supply of giant needles and a
trembling enthusiasm for plunging them into exposed flesh. Raised in Rottenburg,
Germany during an era when the Hippocratic oath had been downgraded to an
optional Hippocratic suggestion, Kristian considers healing a generally unintended
side effect of satisfying his own morbid curiosity. He grew up alongside his father,
who was also an aspiring doctor, but he died, leaving Kris alone with nobody to care
for him. Also leaving him with no rules to follow, and everyone knows how the
Hippocratic Oath states 'to do no harm'..
Appearance: standing tall and lanky, this

to load and fire a variety of weapons before embarking on a Nazi killing spree for
which he was awarded several medals that he designed and made himself. His
rampage ended immediately upon hearing about the end of the war in 1949.
The Soldier is a crazed, jingoistic patriot from America's heartland. Tough and
well-armed, he is versatile, capable of both offense and defense
Appearance: a rustic brown color - eyes both are bright blue -
build is Large and Muscular, he isn't playing around. He has a scar
over one eye, and a short haircut. He's pretty menacing at first, but a
sweetheart when you get to know him. The wolfish ears are hiding under the
helmet he always wears, and the tail his stowed away.. Though uncomfortable
he just wishes he wasn't ever born that way

Mary found herself staring at her alarm clock, unable to get back to sleep. She quietly sat up and looked around the tiny apartment room she now shared with her three youngest pups. Mary missed the large house they had back in the States, but she knew it would be better this way. The pups slept peacefully on one mattress on the floor; Mary silently promised them that they'd look for a bigger house once she found herself a job. She quietly got out of bed and crept into the kitchen to figure out where the best neighborhoods were, along with nearby hospitals, job openings, and international schools. Mary began to brew some coffee, then sat at the kitchen table with various notes, maps, and papers. She looked over them carefully as the coffee brewed. The scent wafted to her and that alone perked her up a little. Mary got up, poured herself a cup, then sat back down as she stirred in some milk and sugar. Mary waited a moment to make sure none of the pups would startle her as she took a sip; it had happened too many times in the past. Mary quietly sipped on her coffee and sure enough, she heard a small "Mom" coming from the dark hallway; besides knowing the pups' voices, Mary always knew which pup was calling her based on the name they had for her; Cybil always called her "Mom", Cynthia went with "Mama", and Vincent chose to call her "Mother".

"Yes Cybil?" asked Mary, looking to the hallway. Sure enough, Cybil shuffled out into the living room and sat on the couch. "Which is the English channel again?" she mumbled, clearly still groggy. "The English cartoons are on 32." replied Mary, taking another sip of coffee. Cybil switched on the TV and pressed the up button numerous times before finding a German police show. "Oh cool!" she exclaimed, "Can I watch this?" "No, you may not." said Mary, slightly jumping from the yelling, "It isn't child-friendly." "Aww, but Mom!" whined Cybil, "Even if they say bad words, I can't understand 'em!" "No Cybil." said Mary sternly. Cybil huffed a little as she switched the channel to the English cartoon channel. "I hate this show..." muttered Cybil, sulking into the couch as she stared at the screen. Mary shook her head a little and soon Maria walked in. "Mornin' Chief." said Maria, looking to Cybil, "Mornin' Mare." Cybil slightly smiled to herself as she continued to watch TV. "Good morning..." said Mary quietly, watching Maria make herself a cup of coffee. "I was thinking we could go into town today and start looking for a house." said Maria quietly, glancing to her sister, "Or I can at least pick up some clothes for us." "That would be just fine." replied Mary, giving a nod, "I was planning on looking at schools... Alessa really needs to go back." Maria nodded in agreement as she sat next to Mary. "Alright, you want me to get the others up?" asked Maria. "When you get a moment..." murmured Mary, taking another sip.

He was up early in his very quaint little house, brewing coffee for the day and flipping through the newspaper just to read and see if anything was exciting
Nothing more.. he sighed and shook his head as he turned and saw both Arzt awakening
Arzt was his eldest brother, five years older and five inches taller
Though he too was a white wolf, he had the opportunity some years back to dye his fur
And he had the entire top of his head dyed bluish purple.. it suited him, for the fur atop his head was sort of styled as well
Right now it was kind of mussed up as he simply grunted to Kris while moving to make toast
"You are not up before me today" Kris said aloud in their native tongue, as the other sighed and shook his head
"I had a long night.. Was up late with business" Arzt responded
The doctor snickered softly and shook his head
"Your boyfriend does not count as business"
He smiled a little before moving to pour himself coffee, hearing Josef enter the kitchen
The youngest of the three Ludwigs, he was a soft brown colored canine with striking green eyes
He yawned and made his way over to the fridge for orange juice, and any leftover franzbrötchen or Apfelkuchen for breakfast
Josef was at least three years younger than Kris.. and much much shorter
"Guten Morgen.." he said to Josef who was silent, still trying to awaken
The doctor managed to talk a little longer with his brothers before taking his coffee with him and excusing himself to leave
Where he headed to work on foot, heading for the hospital in the town
Many other Germans greeted him with a hello, or a good morning on the way there, knowing him quite well
And he sipped at his coffee as he continued on, his lab coat fluttering behind him as he walked on

"Well, I'll take the pups with me so you can get to the hospital." said Maria quietly, slowly standing up and moving to her sister's room. "Good luck explaining that to Vincent..." murmured Mary, shaking her head a little. "Do we gotta go?" asked Cybil, looking to Mary, "Can't Alessa watch us?" "I don't want you all alone without an adult." said Mary firmly, standing up to get ready, "You can either go shopping with your aunt or tag along with me and get your booster shots." "Aunt Maria!" called Cybil, springing to her paws, "Don't leave me behind!" The pup zipped down the hallway and back to the room she shared with her siblings and mother. Cynthia and Vincent woke up a bit groggy as Cybil yelled. "Must you be so loud?" grumbled Vincent. "Yeah, I do!" barked Cybil. Cynthia got out of bed and ignored her siblings as they started to fight. She got changed into one of her burgundy dresses and let Maria brush her hair. "Did you and Mama ever fight like them?" asked Cynthia quietly. Maria watched Cybil sock Vincent in the stomach as he swung back at her. "No, not really." said Maria, shrugging some, "They'll get sick of it soon..." Maria put two ribbons in Cynthia's hair, then stood up. "Alright, one down and three to go..." murmured Maria, watching Mary shuffle towards the closet. Cynthia went out to the living room and waited for everyone else to get ready.

By the time everyone was dressed and looked presentable, Cynthia had fallen asleep on the couch. Alessa had no choice but to accompany Mary; Mary needed to get Alessa's files to the hospital she hoped she'd be hired at. Of course with Alessa going with Mary, the little ones decided they had to go wherever Alessa went. Maria wasn't too offended, as she preferred to shop alone. Once everything was shut off and locked up, the five left the apartment and went their separate ways. Cybil held onto Alessa's free paw, as Scarlett was in Alessa's right paw. The two had to slightly walk ahead of Mary and the other pups, as Cybil always had to be leading the "pack". Alessa looked around at the strange buildings and houses. "This place is pretty..." she said to herself. Cynthia didn't seem too impressed as Vincent seemed to study every detail of every house they passed. Mary was keeping an eye out for the hospital.

He had been on the opposite side of the street, sitting and waiting for a chance to cross
When he spotted a large family, a mother with many pups
He chuckled to himself and smiled, squinting to try and see them better.. but didn't have much of a chance, since his window to cross was open
He looked both ways before hopping across the street, sipping at his coffee before letting his coat hang behind him with a flick
His mind was elsewhere as he moved on down the street for a good few blocks before turning left and heading for the hospital that was now in view
A smile crept across his lips as he approached it and hopped up the steps for it

This hospital was small.. not a lot of doctors.. and even then he was the top one

Alessa stopped at the corner and looked back to Mary. "Which way do we go?" she asked. Mary let go of Cynthia and Vincent's paws to look at a pocket map she had. "Let's see..." murmured Mary quietly, "We go straight, then we turn left..." Alessa looked ahead and saw the hospital. "There it is..." she murmured. Mary put the map away before taking her pups' paws again. After the group looked both ways and was given the walking signal, they walked across the street. Cybil spotted a park close by and wagged her stubby tail. "Mom!" she yapped, "Can we go play while you get your... interview thingy done?" Vincent huffed a bit as his sister's suggestion and Cynthia just didn't care. "Alright, but you are to stay in the park and stay close to Alessa." said Mary firmly, "I shouldn't be more than an hour, hopefully..." Alessa nodded as she led the pups to the park. Mary stood at the entrance to make sure no one suspicious was there. The hospital was only about a hundred feet from the park.

Mary walked to the hospital, clutching onto Alessa's medical records and her resume. She entered the tiny building and studied her surroundings; it was much smaller than the hospital she worked at in Pennsylvania. Mary wasn't too sure where anything was, as she didn't speak or read German. "Oh dear..." she whispered to herself, slowly wandering around. She was hoping to find the peds floor, if they even had one here. Normally Mary wasn't one to be overly anxious about things, but she found herself having a hard time breathing and started to shake a little.

He moved into the hospital and smiled at the nurses at the front desk, and chatted with them for a good minute before he saw that they were watching something
That something was behind him, and he turned a little to see a female walking in, looking a little out of place
He left the nurses and walked over, leaving his coffee with them
"Ah.. Hallo!" He called gently
"Bist du in Ordnung? Brauchst du Hilfe?" he had asked in his native tongue
He noticed the papers and wondered if she was the mother of a patient here.. or perhaps a sister
And noticed she was shaking, and tried to calm her down
"Du musst dich beruhigen, vermisse. Wofür bist du hier?"
He didnt even know if she spoke German, and sat watching her with curious and kind eyes behind round rimmed glasses

Mary looked up at Kristian as he approached her. She could tell by his lab coat that he must've been a doctor. Mary looked hopelessly confused as Kristian asked her a couple questions in German. She only knew a handful of German words and hoped Kristian or someone else could speak English. "Ah, ich... don't speak Deutsche." she responded, hoping that'd be enough to tell him that she had no clue what he was saying. She scolded herself internally for not taking more time to study on a translation book; she made a note to herself that after getting settled into a house that she'd study her German a bit more.

He blinked and watched her for a moment before chuckling
"Its Ich spreche kein Deutsch.. but you vere close.." he smiled
Before standing there and adjusting his glasses a bit
"Sorry about zaht.. normally tourists dont come in, its just natives."
He then stuck a paw out to her and offered a warm smile
"Doctor Ludwig.. you can call me Kris," He said, "Vaht I meant to ask you vas are you okay.. vaht are you here for?"
And tilted his head
"I'd be glad to help you."
