WIP Setting Up

Orphaned twins in Chicago. Father and mother died a couple years back or so, they moved to the orphanage. Night of their 16th birthday they go out to explore. Intentions change when they run into a gang. Next thing happens, and the pair is the adoption focus to a well dressed man and younger lady. One thing leads to the next, and you get dragged into the short life.

Family 1:The Mauldias

Mr. and Mrs. Mauldia are a long married couple and very popular with the people of Chicago, being a tight woven family. They keep up strict rules, regulations, and even higher expectations. Most of the city's transportation is owned by this family. With low prices, they keep the popular vote. Though, without the knowledge of many city dwellers, many 'accidents' are covered up as well as drive by attacks.

Changing nothing at first, Ms. Christho learned, then changed the system to improve what she thought wasn't best. Soon to open a second bank, their wealth is quite expendable and seen as nothing more than a toy.

A large portion of the politics are run by and land in the Rualin family. With Mrs. Rualin keeping the 'buisness' afloat, it leaves Mr. Rualin to the daily political life of the city of Chicago. Currently aiming for the highest power of being mayor, it's only a matter of time until they gain even more advantage over the rest of the families. With being in politics, full names are consistently used and expected. Anything less is an insult to their reputation.

If one was to try to figure out which family was the oldest, it'd be the Karmania. Being the last original gang family in Chicago, they take great pride in their heritage. Mr. Karmania is the head of the family and widowed, losing his wife to cancer and their only daughter, Mistress Lucy Karmania, as the only heir. Her father's only attempt is to find someone to marry her off to in hopes of keeping the line we'll bred. Lucy has different plans and thoughts about joining the Ouasi family for her own free will.

To start small gives a goal to grow big. The newest gang in town is ran by Mr. Ouasi. The Ouasi Family is mostly made up of the rejects of the other groups who reached the talent needed in the family. Many of the groups have a life long grudge against this particular put together. Though, Mr. Ouasi owns a larger portion, 60%, of all the bars and clubs. He makes sure everything is legal and has only strict rules on who is invited into us buisness.

personality Adeline was once a very sweet girl who adored school, but when her and her sisters parents died she went through so many changes, going from foster home to foster home took a toll on her as it seemed whenever she seemed to get comfortable her and her sister were moved to another place, leaving her newly found friends behind, Time went on and Addie found herself in with the wrong crowd, letting her grades slip and hooking up with almost everyone her life quickly went down hill she lost sight of who she once was and what was important, and this came with grave consequences when she had a near death expierace when she went street racing, the car spun out, and smashed into a tree, her and her boyfriend at the time were admitted to the hospital, and Addie was the only one who made it her boyfriend Justin died in the E.R, it was then she realized that in a flash, you're life could be gone, and every moment was to be lived to the fullest, but she also realized how important her sister is to her, and is quite honestly her bestfriend, So now addie is trying to pull her life back together and getting her grades back up, but don't get her wrong shes still a huge flirt and party girl, and some even say a occasional tom boy, but she does love being a girl and won't let others forget it, theres just about nothing she won't do for her sister and often doesn't leave her line of sight in fear something will happen to her beloved bestfriend.

I had awoken bright and early today, 6:00 a.m sharp, as my alarm hit the hour it blasted "Happybirthday" throughout my room, it took a few minutes of me pressing snooze did i finally get what it was saying and sprung up beadhead flying everywhere as i flung the covers off and onto the matress, a happy squeal exiting my lips as i bounded over to my dresser "Today's the day!" i whispered happily as i dug through my clothing to find the perfect outfit, i had settled on a black sweatshirt, golden necklace and light blue jeans, perfect, switching my pajamas out for them i then began doing my makeup, simple eyeshadow and eyeliner with thick mascara and lipstick. looking in the mirror as i brushed out my blonde hair, pulling it back in a waterfall bride i smiled i looked like a princess on top of the world and today, i was, we were, Looking at my phone a hour had passed and i nearly flung my door open as i pranced down the stairs saying good morning to the foster mother before walking into the kitchen, there i gathered the needed bowls and whipped up the batter for pancakes, putting sprinkles in them of course, while those cooked on the griddle i began making bacon, and eggs, the kitchen filing with delicious aromas as another half hour passed, setting the stack of pancakes on a plate, topping them with whipped cream and more sprinkles plus a "16" candle i smiled perfect, setting the bacon and eggs by it i ran to the fridge though forgetting the floors where laminated hardwood, and i had socks on i went sliding into the fridge, landing with a hmph and a thud i groaned "ouch.." i whined rubbing my rump, it only stopped me for a moment before i was back up and grabbing the coffee creamer from the fridge and making a nice hot cup of coffee and placing that on the tray as well, once giving it a once over i nodded in approval to myself and scurried up the stairs with the prepared food, humming happily i roamed the hall until coming to my beloved sisters room, where i knocked a few times then without waiting for a answer opened the door practically screaming "Happy birthday to us!" and walking around the edge of the bed to the window, where i proceeded to fling the curtains open letting the sun in, and setting the tray of tastiness at her feet, i then plopped into her bed and flung her blanket off "Morning Mattie" i greeted happily as i kissed her cheek and handed her the tray with a cheeky smile in a particular good mood today as it was officially our birthday.

The alarm could be faintly heard between the walls of the foster house and only a grunt and a rollover were heard inside the teen's room. Pushing the face back into her pillow, she wanted to sleep more. Being only 6 am, that would not be too difficult, hopefully. Shutting the eyes and focused on relaxing, she entered sleep, but into dreams.
It was sunny, clouds dotting the blue sky. Probably later afternoon in the summer, closing into fall, but not quite yet. As a girl walked along, no more than a couple years younger, her eyes would wander off the sidewalk. That's when her heart stopped, seeing the horrific scene before her.
Sitting up, blue eyes darted around with heavy breathing as the possibly loudest-one-person-screaming happy Birthday escaped the other blonde. "Oh my god! What the heck, Addie!?" She yelled and looked at her. Surprises weren't her best to handle. With a deep breath and closed eyes, Mattie nmoved her hands over her face and let out a sigh. She removed her hands and looked back up. Staring in front of her, blue eyes watched a perfectly crafted meal sitting on a tray.
"Did you make this?" The only question that slipped out of her mouth. Quietly, she moved her feet and legs into a cross cross position to make room for her sister, a practical look alike. A kiss on the cheek and being handed the tray, Matilla took the trey. Gazing down, she sees all the hard work put into the meal: the love, ingredients, time, and mostly effort.

Seeing the way my sister soon flung up from the bed i looked at her, confused for a moment before realizing that probably wasn't the best way to wake her and i gave her a cheesy smile "whoops.. sorry" i said with a unsure laugh,
i had tied the curtains off to the side with a bow before jumping into her bed with her, inwardly greatful she had moved her legs other wise i likely would have hit the floor..again, as she adjusted to the brightness that now filled her room, from both the suns rays beating down, to my happy bubbly self this morning i took a sip of her coffee before placing it back on the tray, once looking over at my twin who was still half asleep when she spoke, asking if i indeed made this which i quickly nodded to "Of course,
why else would i be up so early? though i have to say, having a carpeted kitchen would be nice" i said, mumbling the last part as i pushed the hair from my face and behind my ear, looking from the window to her once more "So, what should we do today? do you have anything planned?" i asked curiously, usually we didn't make a big deal out of our birthday but today was one of the important ones, so 'd drag her to do something if it come to it.

i only let out a sigh and shook my head. "It's fine, it's fine." I told her, letting out another deep breath. She only had good intentions, and knowing how I would react wasn't in my twin's head all the time. My eyes only casted over with despise towards the light beaming in. The window was as a means to escape, not let in light. That's what I had bought curtains for. It was Adeline's birthday today too though. I didn't wanna ruin it for her.
She.... My eyes wandered from my coffee to Addie as my hand instinctively reached up and ruffled her hair for drinking some of my coffee. I didn't mind though, she enjoyed it. Again, I only half listened, not paying full attention towards her. "I don't know, don't ask me. You had your own alarm set there." I reassured her before continuing. The massing silence seemed to stay and made the room odd until Addie spoke.
"I was gonna go out. I mean we just turned 16, we can do what we want anyways." The sister pointed out. "Your thoughts?"

As usual i grumbled unhappily as my twin ruffled my hair i had just neatly fixed, shooting her a playful glare of huffed with a pouty lip for the full affect. That is before i heard her begin to speak in turn to my question, causing my gaze to lock upon her face though we were twins we had differences which made us easy to tell apart for instance mattie had darker eyes, while mine were typically lighter, and i had my mothers nose, while hers, our fathers. that was only the beggining of our differences. our personalities strayed apart too but with good reason as i knew we both went different ways after mom and dads death. It was still something i had struggled with greatly to this day, but now wasn't the time to remances on the past. Sitting up tall i pursed my lips together as if in thought before quickly defending myself on her first comment "Hey! i had too or else we would have slept today away!
" i protested with a pointed finger before going back to think about what we could do with this day, i knew likely the rest of the house we were assigned too would be off doing their own thing or sleeping the day away so we wouldn't have to figure out a group activity not that i figured they would want to take part in it anyway. I was drawn away from my thoughts when i heard the loud noise of a engien, a fast one at that, zooming down the street with squealing tires and cheering people no doubt a race, likely from downtown and had just made its way up here. As the car sped past my gaze flicked to it a longing gaze in my greenish blue eyes as memories from a few years ago clouded my mind, yet with those fun, wild memories came the ones of the events that had followed..
Justin.. Blinking i sighed and looked away, recomposing myself from the memories of that day that had gone wrong so fast and looking back to my sister with a soft smile. Though quickly as it had come the sadness left and i jumped up "i know!" i nearly screamed like a excited child on Christmas morning before loosing my footing and slipping with a yelp and a thud. That did little to distract me as i quickly declared "i'm okay!" and hopped back up grabbing matties hand and pulling her from the bed "We can go explore downtown! we're hardly down there, but today we're practically ladies! its time to see the world from a ladies sight!" i said in a determined voice before giggling and placing my hands on my hips

I only smiled at her grumbling. She was my world now, all that I needed to care for. Nothing else mattered really. I had already removed my hand from her slightly nearer and easier to manage hair, taking a few strands with me. I tossed the strands aside and looked back st her. "Had to?" I rolled my eyes. "I wouldn't mind sleeping the day away, Addie" I reminded without a pause, but the smile and cheerful look were in my eyes now. Only because of Adeline though.
As what seemed like ages of Addie thinking and me just watching my little sister, I waited. Then like a fire cracker she just pops up, switching my alarm on in my head. I instantly have that alarm hidden away and silenced, knowing there were no dangers here. I put my hand over my mouth to stifle the laugh from her fall. "Pffffftttt haha!" The words seemed to escape as I laugh and watch her stand back up. Though, she just took my hand and pulled me up, a quite not so nice surprise to say the least. What she said next took me off guard, but who was I to say no to this idea? "Wait, you actually want to go downtown, like the real downtown, downtown?" I tried verifying I heard my twin correctly. "I have never known you to want to go out of your way and do some adventuring! Hell yeah ya betch ya we are going down there!" My voice was raised and I offered my sister a high five, smiling. As I smiled I could feel my snake bite piercings and I ran my tongue on them just out of habit.

I was about to respond to my sisters previous less then enthused comments but found myself stopped short as i, surprisingly heard her agree to my suggestion to explore the more.. skeptical downtown area something that only made my grin grow increasingly larger while a happy chuckle left my mouth, not hesitating to return the high-five to my look alike before finally responding to her rather surprised comment Hey, its now or never right? can you think of a better time to step out of our comfort zone?" I pointed out with a slightly risen brow the grin never leaving as i moved towards her door before spinning back around "Kay, get ready and i'll make sure we have everything else set?" I suggested happily, hardly awaiting her response before bounding out of the room to do just that. Once leaving Mattys room i set off to ensure our phones were charged, wallets where located and a few other select items were grabbed such as the simple, leather bracelet with my name printed in my bold letters our parents had given me was placed securely on my wrist, it was rare i ever left without it, After about a hour had passed i was waiting outside the house for my sisters appearance, leaning nightly on the railing just outside the door while peering at the passing world below the wind lightly blowing my refixed hair
