I am terrible at figuring out what to stick here...
While answer a strange distress call, a crew of four is thrown into a new world of alien life, where they must adapt to survive and make it out alive. Whether they find out what happened with the distress signal...is debatable.

History: Miles had a pretty normal childhood by his standards. His mother died when he was only 7, so he doesn’t remember much about her. He went to school but kept mostly to himself. He was never the greatest student in any of his academic classes but excelled in shop classes which was how he got though the days. He didn’t have any friends so most of his time outside of school was spent caring for his younger sister who is two years younger then him. He dropped out right before high school, deciding to forgo a formal education to work in his father’s repair shop and get actual experience in a field he was interested in. He signed up to be part of the program that would later lead him into becoming an engineer for one of the emergency response teams on a whim. He didn’t think he would get in but to his surprise he was accepted and had to leave his small family pretty soon after that. They were proud of him though and made him promise to visit whenever possible. Miles went into the program unsure how well he would do among people who had a lot more experience then him, but he manages to hold his own. He eventually joined this crew as the engineer.

Name: Zed Kassmen
Nickname: Doc
Age: 26
Date of Birth: November 2
Place of Birth: Earth
Nationality: Canadian

Position: Doctor

Physical Description

Height: 6’1
Weight: 162

Typical Clothing: Generally, a button up and dress pants under a lab coat. He will wear jeans if he is feeling more casual
Tattoos: N/A
Piercings: N/A

Personality

Personality: Zed is rather sarcastic and a bit rude. He gets annoyed with people easily, especially if they are always hurting themselves. He will grumble about just about everything if given the chance. He is loyal to those he considers worth his time. Despite his short temper and tendency to grumble, he will do what he is told, regardless of whether he agrees or not. Even though he has a very good memory, Zed is not the smartest guy. Most of his memory focuses on medicine and ancient civilizations so he doesn’t actually know all that much about modern life in general.
Skills/Talents: Stiches, making plans, he retains information like a sponge
Likes: Learning, books, pointing out mistakes, Hot chocolate
Dislikes: People who get hurt constantly, Sick people, Rain, Cold weather
Goals/Ambitions: He wants to travel and learn all he can about the universe before he dies
Strengths: He can do a lot with very little, his memory and problem-solving skills
Weaknesses: He gets annoyed with people easily, he will let you suffer if he thinks you were an idiot when you got hurt, he isn’t to up to date with the modern world and this leads to him being lost when talking about tech or anything else modern.

Education/Special Training: Due to his ability to retain knowledge, he became a Doctor a few years before he should have. He has been working in a hospital for about two years now as an emergency attending and dealing with a whole host of strange things during that time.

Relationships
Family: His mother and father but no siblings
Relationship status: Single
Partner: N/A
Crush: N/A

History: Zed came from a pretty well-off family. Being an only child, he did get spoiled as a child and thus became a bit of a punk in his earlier years. He got in a lot of fights and was on his way to getting in with the wrong crowds. That was until he was 14 and got in an accident. He was forced to spend some time in the hospital as a result and it was during his time there that he actually found something that interested him. He was curious as to how patients were treated and caused many nurses and doctors to get annoyed with his constant questions. After being released, Zed poured all his time and energy into getting his grads back up and doing whatever he had to so he could make it into a good school. He graduated near the top of his class. While he could retain knowledge, he was still a slacker when it came to social issues and modern politics which lost him a place in one of the top spots. It was enough though and he managed to get into a high ranking medical school where he spent the next few years learning. By keeping his head down and working harder than anyone, he managed to finish his studies two years earlier than normal and applied for his residency at a hospital near where his family lived.

Captain Tubon

Tripp signed off on the offered tablet, accepting command of the Corvus. The aide, job done, scrambled away, leaving Tripp to admire the sleek dark grey metal hull with white and red lettering. While the ship wasn't brand new, it was new enough to still be one of the fastest ships in the sector that they were assigned to work in. Tripp bent, picking up his duffel bag with a few changes of clothes and personal belongings before striding up the gangway to the ship. He paused at the airlock, holding his wrist to the sensor. He waited for the beep and flash of green light acknowledging his clearance before striding into the ship. Tripp had studied the inner schematics of the ship enough to make his way to the crew quarters without getting turned around- the Corvus was on the smaller side, although the four rooms assigned for the crew were identical. He turned in a slow circle, realizing the rooms were unassigned, and wondered which one he should take.

Eric Henson
Eric fidgeted, peering over the shoulder of the transport pilot to glance over the controls. He couldn't hear the conversation between him and control, but he could imagine it quite well, turning the familiar words over in his head. He felt the slight shift of the shuttle as it turned, cleared for entrance into the space station. He drummed his fingers on his armrest, leaning back slightly as he waited for the ship to dock with the station. Eric's eyes drifted over his two bags of belongings- one of clothing and the other of personal effects. He was sure there would be something broken to repair- cargo often drifted around during flight and didn't handle the return to gravity very well. Eric fidgeted slightly, glancing at his watch- the transport was supposed to have arrived ten minutes earlier, and he was supposed to somehow get himself to the other end of the base in five minutes to show up to the ship to sign in.

Miles Walker

Miles felt like a kid in a candy shop as he walked past ship after ship. Even during his time in the engineering program he had never been around so many ships at one time. He had a slight bounce in his step as he walked, taking in ever detail he could from the outside of the ships. He longed to get inside them and pick their engines apart, but he was already late for the sign in so he reluctantly moved on. When he saw the red and white lettering, he knew he had finally found the Corvus. He quickly eyed the ship, noting that it was a bit older then some of the models he had walked past. The age of the ship wasn't a problem, the specs were still good and it would still outpace some of the newer ships. He had spent hours pouring over the manuals and engine schematics so he was sure he could keep it running. He glanced around one last time before heading up the gangway towards the airlock. He had to set down his tool box and slip off one of his gloves in order to hold up his wrist to the sensor. As soon as he got a beep he shoved his glove back on and pick up his tool box. He knew he would be provided with basic tools on the ship but he had decided to bring his own along with his other personal belongings and clothes. Miles trusted his tools, they had never steered him wrong before. As soon as he stepped though the airlock, Miles realized he had no idea where the crew quarters were on the ship. He had meant to look it up on the schismatics but he got so distracted by the engine that he had forgotten. "Damn." He sighed, running a hand though his hair before picking a direction and heading that way, hoping he would come across another crew mate or the crew quarters.

Zed Kassman
Zed grumbled to himself as he moved quickly past a few people who were milling around. He had stayed at the hospital until the very last moment before heading here. They had needed his help and he hadn't been able to say no to the nurses who asked. He should have known better then to tell someone he was leaving, they had tried their very hardest to keep him from going. He just had to hope the crew wasn't waiting on him, that would be embarrassing, and not a good first impression to make. After all, he was going to be stuck with these people for the foreseeable future in a tiny space, getting along was going to be very important. "Breath." He sighed, taking a deep breath as he saw the ship come into view. He snorted at the name but didn't openly question it. The name of the ship wasn't important, as long as it didn't crash and kill him, he didn't care. Heading up the gangway, he held his wrist up but nothing happened. "Of course." He huffed, trying once again.

Captain Tubon
Picking the room on the left closest to the front of the ship at random, Tripp held his wrist to the door panel, confirming his choice for a room, and the door slid open with a quiet hiss. The room was on the smaller side, as was expected of the faster ships, and reminded Tripp of his dorm room at the military academy. The bed was neatly made, recessed inside a protective bulkhead that had a few cabinets for clothing and personal belongings above the mattress. There was a cushy seat bolted to the floor in one corner of the room, and after looking around Tripp saw there were two places to put the chair- the first where it was currently- facing the doorway, and a second set of raised screws were positioned so the chair could be by the end of the bed, facing a screen that took up most of the wall far wall. Tripp dropped his duffel bag at the foot of his bed and walked up to the screen, tapping it. The monitor came to life, displaying a settings menu that Tripp could configure to his specifications. Tripp always enjoyed treating the large screens like windows, so he set the screen to display an image of what was currently outside the ship, and put a small map of the ship in the lower corner of the screen, complete with dots showing him the crewmembers' locations. It looked like there were already two of the three other crew members on the ship- Tripp glanced down at his watch, noting the third was late.

Eric Henson
Eric dashed through the hallways of the space station, two bags bouncing off of his back and clutching a plant against his chest. The plant appeared to be wilting, long tendrils of white, green, and purple spilling away from its container and threatened to tangle themselves in Eric's legs. He wanted to get the plant back into zero gravity as fast as possible- even as is he might not be able to use this one- a coleus, in his research project now that it had been exposed to gravity. He followed the signs to where his ship was docked, and saw a tall man dressed in nice clothing step into the ship before the door closed behind him. Eric ran up the gangway, swinging his hand towards the sensor, barely waiting for the beep before throwing himself through the door. He dropped his bags at the entrance, scurrying forwards into the ship with his plant still firmly clasped in his arms.
"Excuse me! Coming through!" Eric said, darting around the nicely dressed man and making a beeline for the storage bay- a zero gravity environment where he could safely store his plant.

Miles Walker

Miles realized pretty quickly he had gone the wrong way as he headed deeper into the ship. While he didn't know exactly how to get to the crew quarters, he was pretty sure less stairs were involved. Shaking his head, he decided to just make a beline for the engine room. He would be spending most of his time down there anyways. Hell, he might even end up sleeping down here if he could get away with it. It took a few wrong turns but be eventually founder himself in front of the door to the engine room. Bouncing on the balls of his feet, he held his wrist under the sensor and waited for the beep. It took a moment and he almost panicked, but to his relief, a green light appear. Once he green light appeared he remembered it took a moment for the gravity to kick in due to the engine room not being listed as a priority room for gravity. Rolling his eyes at that, he pushed the door open and headed in. Whistling at the size, Miles took his time looking around the space that was much larger than he had expected. He had been prepared for cramped quarters down here but he actually had a fair bit of room to work. Engines in ships weren't nearly as small as the engines he had worked on in his father's shop, but already he was excited to get to work on this beautiful piece of machinery. Finding a safe spot for his tools was tricky, but he eventually found a small indent in the metal work that would work to keep his tool box from floating away once he left the room and the gravity shut off again.

Zed Kassman

When he finally got the sensor to work for him, Zed almost cheered. He hated these sensors, they were so tedious and annoying. At least back at the hospital he had been working at, they had more old tech then new. It was one of the reasons he had even decided to stay there in the first place. It wasn't like he hadn't had options after he finished his residency but the older tech of the hospital had been a comfort, so he decided to stay. Now though he was going to have to learn how to use these things properly and he wasn't looking forward to it at all. He had barely stepped through the airlock when he was almost run over by a younger man rushing by. He huffed and opened his mouth to yell a retort after him but the man disappeared before he even got a chance.
"Lovely." He muttered, turning and heading for the crew quarters in a timely fashion. It didn't take long to get there, and he glanced at the doors one at a time. One appeared to already be taken so he avoided it, turning to the right where the next door in the que was. He stepping up to the scanner which didnt work right away. After a minute of muted cursing and grumbling, he got the sensor to work and stepped into the room. He scanned the room with a critical eye, it was a spartan and clean, both things he liked. It was smaller then what he was used to, but thr bed and the one chair at least looked comfortable. There was also a computer which was something that while he had, he rarely used. Dropping his duffle bag on his new bed he unzipped it and started pulling things out. He had few personal belongings, most of what he brought was clothes. It would make unpacking easier and he didn't have to worry about something important being broken or lost.

Captain Tubon

Tripp sat in his cabin, flicking through information on his ship and his crew while he waited for the fourth and final member. First there was Mr. Miles Walker- an engineer, and from a quick glance at the map of the Corvus in the corner of the screen, he had already found the engine room. Dr. Zed Kassman filled the position of ship's doctor- it looked like he had taken up residence in the front right cabin. Finally there was Mr. Eric Henson, the pilot, who was finally on board, and judging by the map he had found his way to the storage room. Was he bringing a lot of things with him? Did a pilot need extra supplies to operate a ship away from a space station for a long period of time? Tripp didn't know, but sat back in his chair, thinking. It would be good to get a rough idea of who these people were, or as much information you could gain from personnel files. Tripp wanted to give them some time to settle into their cabins, and decided to wait fifteen minutes before making an announcement over the ship's speakers to tell the crew to gather in the recreation room.

Eric Henson
Eric barreled through the halls of the ship- already familiar with how to get to the storage bay. He practically hit the door panel with his wrist trying to get it to open, and then threw the plant inside the storage room. It floated off at a halfhazard angle, spinning slightly before bumping into the far wall and coming to a rest by the ceiling. Thankfully, there were a series of handholds, tethers, and poles scattered around the interior of the bay, as well as spare ship parts and medicines they were hauling that made it easy for Eric to follow his plant without getting stuck in the middle of the room. He still needed to secure it- who knows how many gravity assists they'd be doing, and he didn't want his plant getting tossed around like a loose cannon every time they had to speed up. Pushing off with his legs, Eric floated upwards towards his plant, catching the edge of it's container and tied it to a crate of medical supplies that was secured soundly against the floor by the entrance- that would allow him easy access to check on the plant. Content, Eric pushed off in the direction of the door and shut it behind him, returning to gravity easily. Eric sighed, content that the biggest hurdle was out of the way, and walked back to the entrance of the ship to retrieve his bags.

(Do you want to try and set up a bit of tension between Zed and Eric? That could be interesting, in addition to the whole Earth/Mars thing were discussing earlier that could play off of that. I was thinking of having Tripp call everyone into the recreation room for introductions, maybe have a post or two about everyone figuring out their workspaces (I was thinking a bridge of sorts where Tripp and Eric would sit most of the time, although there would be room for Miles and Zed to sit up there as well, and do things like man communications or science stations if necessary, what do you think about that?) then having Eric take folks out for a spin, and then during that spin maybe have the distress call come through? Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?)

(Hm, that sounds interesting and possible. I'm definitely up for it and interested to see where that goes and having the Earth/Mars thing play into it is smart. Having Tripp call everyone up to the recreation room is a good idea, I doubt they will all meet on their own otherwise so best to have him take charge and get them together. We could probably set the beginning of the tension between Eric and Zed during that meeting? Having Tripp and Eric in the bridge most of the time makes sense considering their roles but I do like the idea of Miles and Zed manning the other stations when required. It will force them to work together more and no disappear to their own areas instead. It gives them a reason to stay on the bridge more often then not. Also like the idea of them just going out for a test drive of sorts but ending up getting a distress call. That will get the plot moving and it feels pretty natural.)

Miles Walker

After doing a quick scan of the engine, Miles decided it was best to head back up to the main areas of the ship. He would have preferred to stay down in the engine room and run some tests to make sure everything was operating to his specifications but he needed the Corvus to be moving to get the most accurate results. So he was going to have to wait. Sighing a little, he patted the metal gently before heading for the door. Stepping out of the room as easy, since there was gravity on both sides though he did feel slightly disoriented since the hall was cramped compared to the room behind him.
Turning on his heels he headed back up the way he had come, his bag in hand. Going back to the entrance made the most sense, maybe he would run into someone there who could tell him where to go. It would be embarrassing to ask but if he wanted a bed to sleep on, he would have to swallow his pride and ask. He rounded the corner to the entrance and was slightly relieved to see someone there, grabbing their bags.
"Hey!" He yelled, waving his hand to get the guys attention. "Any idea how to get to the crew quarters?"
He did his best to sound friendly, but his ears still felt slightly warm from the embarrassment of having to ask how to get there. He was really wishing he had spent some time on the schismatics of the actual ship and not just the engine and machinery. It was really coming back to bite him now.

Zed Kassman

Zed finished putting the last of his clothes into the storage space provided above the bed. It seemed like an odd place to store clothes but Zed wasn't worried. As long as the clothes had somewhere to go and didn't get left on the floor, he was happy. Once finished with his clothes, he folded his scrubs and doctors coat before setting them on the chair. He would take them to the small infirmary that the ship had later when he had the time. He was interested to see what sort of equipment the ship came with. Judging by the age, it wouldn't be top quality but it should do its job. He just hoped he wouldn't have to use most of it. He didn't want to be constantly patching up his crew mates because they were accident prone, though there was bound to be one of them. Rubbing his eyes he took a breath and reminded himself that that was what he was here for. Minor injuries were bound to happen and it was his job to fix them and make sure everyone survived this with limbs intact and, preferably, alive.

Captain Tubon

After patiently waiting ten of the fifteen minutes, Tripp decided to go into the rec room ahead of his planned announcement. It took him a few minutes to find it- he got turned around in one of the hallways, but made his way into the room. For the ship, the room was large, with one side taken up by a small kitchenette and dining area, and the other side was a mixed jumble of sofas, a large screen, and some miscellaneous workout equipment. Tripp walked over to one of the armchairs, pushing it experimentally with his foot- bolted to the floor. The dining chairs were on rollers so you could move the chairs further away from or closer to the dining table, but were securely fastened to the floor. Strips of velcro lining the kitchen cabinets made Tripp wonder if the gravity was turned off in the rec room when they were responding to a call, or if this particular ship had a unstable or finnickey gravity generator. Tripp had heard stories of course of frustrating gravity generators that caused more problems than they solved, although they usually pertained to older ships that were traveling the stars before the invention of artificial gravity. With the five remaining minutes elapsed, Tripp strode over to the door pannel and pressed a button, activating the communications system.
"Good afternoon, this is Captain Tubon speaking. Please come meet me in the recreation room for introductions and a schedule for the upcoming day before we are put on duty." He said, pausing thoughtfully before removing his hand from the button- that would work.

Eric Henson
Eric straightened, slinging his bags over his shoulder and shifting slightly as the weight caught him slightly off balance. He turned towards the taller man approaching.
"Yep, they're down this way." He said, turning and moving at a fast walk down a hallway to his right, tossing a glance at the other man over his shoulder.
"I'm Eric by the way, who are you?" He asked, curious. This man was obviously one of the crew, however, all Eric had done was read up on the ship, not the crew members. He could recite the specifications, the stresses the ship could endure, the whole start up and shut down sequence for the engines and artificial gravity, how fast she could go, and so much more about the Corvus, but he couldn't name her crew or her captain. Eric frowned at this realization, realizing that he'd have to learn people as opposed to the ship- people were always much trickier. As they rounded the corner to the crew quarters a voice- apparently the captain's- came over the speakers, and Eric glanced at his companion.
"There's the back left and back right bunks available- which one do you want?" He asked, glancing between the two green lights on the doors closest to them.
