Liam had not seen the shark but looked as Amethyst blocked him from something. By the time he realized it was a shark, it was too late. She had already been bit. Liam followed trying to get her to her father quickly and picked her up when she blacked out. He swam as fast as he could and laid her on the couch and went to get her father. He quickly explained what had happened and then led him to her. He was clearly worried about her but also had no idea what he could do to help. He did all that was asked but stayed close to her side as much as he could. He really cared a lot about her and did not want to lose her to something like this. He watched her closely hoping that she would wake up soon.

Amethyst's father swam out of the house when he saw his daughter got bit. He collected a lot of sea weed and some plants. He swam back to the house and wrapped the sea weed around Amethyst's stomach. "When she wakes up let her eat these ok." He handed Liam the plants and went to his room. There isn't much you can do when you get bit by a shark. Only a few mermaids and mermams have survived. He hopes his daughter will live.

Amethyst woke up after a while and looked at Liam. She moved her hand to touch him and did a very weak smile. Amethyst moved closer to him so she hug him. When she got close enough, Amethyst lightly hugged Liam. "T-t-thanks for b-bring me back...." she closed her eyes for a few moments then looked back at Liam.

Liam held her close. "Of course. I am just glad that you woke up. Your father said to eat this." He said and held out the plant for her so she could take them. He was really hoping that she would be okay. He was not wanting to lose her and was really worried that he would. He did not know what he would do if he did. He gently kissed her forehead. "I love you. You have to get better okay?" He said as he held her carefully so he would not hurt her.

Amethyst took the plants and ate them. "I love you too." She did a weak smile but held onto Liam. After some time it started to becoming lighter. "I-it's becoming day time." She became sad knowing Liam would need to go. "I-I promise I'll get better." She said to him and started to close her eyes. She felt weak and tired so she went to sleep. Amethyst's dad came out into the living room to check on his daughter to see if she is doing better. "How's she doing?" He asked Liam.

“Yes it is.” Liam said quietly to her. “Get some rest.” He said and held her hand gently. He was not planning on leaving when she was like this. He cared way too much about her. He let her fall asleep and looked over at her father when he walked in. “She is doing a little better. She woke up for a minute but then went back to sleep. If you don’t mind, I would like to stay here until she gets better.” He said and looked at her. He was so worried about her.

"I'm happy she woke up. Even for a few seconds. There isn't many mermaids and mermans who can survive a shark bite. But if they do wake up then it's a good sign that they will live. And yes stay as long as you like." He went over to the two and gently rubbed Amethyst's face. "I'm glad she has a friend like you." He smiled. "Oh, Liam are you hungry? I can probably find food that you like to eat." He looked at his daughter again. "I probably should find something to eat. So I'll be right back."

After some time Amethyst woke up again and saw Liam. "L-Liam?" She asked. She is a little surprise he stayed. "Y-you stayed." She did a weak smile. "I thought you would have gone back to land to be with your friends while I heal."

"That would be great. Thank you." Liam said and sat and watched her. He did not want anything to happen to her and he was so glad when she woke up again. "Hey, of course I am here. I am not going to leave you like this." He said looking at her. He smiled a little at her. "I really care about you and I didn't want you to be alone. Your dad said I could stay as long as I want so I will be here while you heal. You should rest though. I don't want you to hurt yourself worse by trying to stay up and talk to me." He said and gently brushed some hair off of her face. "I will be right here when you wake up." He said quietly. He would take good care of her. That was the kind of guy he was. His friends would get over the lack of communication eventually and he was not thinking about that right now. His mind was on her.

Amethyst closed her eyes and went back to sleep. After a bit her dad returned home and gave some food to Liam. "There you go." He did a small smile. "I think this is what humans like to eat." It was strawberries. "Amethyst really loves those. I thought maybe you'll like them as well." He left the room so Liam could be alone with Amethyst.

A few weeks later Amethyst was completely healed. She took the sea weed off of her and only saw a scar. "I'm healed." She said with a smile. Amethyst hugged Liam tightly and smiled. "Thanks for staying with me for so long." It was day time as well. She looked at the light water then back at Liam. "I bet your friends miss you. Maybe you should visit them." Amethyst looked down. "They are probably wondering where you have been." She sighed and hugged Liam again.

"Thank you. This is perfect for me." Liam said smiling a little as he took them. He ate them. Those next couple weeks were spent by her side. Even when he slept, he was on the ground next to her so he was close if she needed him. He smiled when he saw that only a scar remained and she was fine. He hugged her. "I am just so glad that you are okay. You are right. I should get back. I know that they probably have sent people to come looking for me. I will come back for you though, okay?" He said and hugged her. He had grown so close to her over these last few weeks. He kissed her. "I will see you again soon okay?" He said and left. He went up to the surface and got out of the water and dried off before going to see his friends. He had been right. They had been looking everywhere for him and had even called his parents. He calmed them down and called his parent and told them he had just taken a vacation and it was no big deal.

Amethyst sighed when Liam left. "He spent the last few weeks with me. Just to make sure I'm ok." Amethyst went to her room and brushed her hair, getting every tangle out. She went to her dad's room and hugged him. "I'm much better daddy." She said with a smile. Amethyst left his room and went out of the house to get food for herself. She is starving since it's been a long time since she ate. She found a patch of strawberries and picked them, then went back to her home to eat them.
