Brendon walked along with Alex and startled a bit when he heard the yelling and was pulled aside. When the hay bale landed next to him he chuckled a bit and looked up as the boy climbed down. He had a kid for a roommate? Brendon murmured a brief "hello" when they were introduced. Brendon watched and listened to the exchange between Alex and Cole. When Alex explained Cole's situation, Brendon shuddered a bit. He recalled all the times that was a way of life for him. The only reason he looked good now was because he had to be in prime shape to serve royalty. His former master would not send off a man incapable of working to serve a princess for goodness sakes. Brendon felt a pang of sympathy for the boy. He even took note of the boy's illiteracy. Brendon couldn't read all too good himself, but at least he knew what he needed to know. He never had proper schooling, but he was endlessly fascinated by books. Even though he wasn't allowed to, as a kid, Brendon always found a way to read. Even if he got punished. Maybe he and Cole weren't all too different?

Alex sighed and walked along towards the end o the barn where she exited the barn and turned heading towards a long building with a porch going all the way down the front but there were three doors and each had a window on either side she headed towards the middle door and pushed it open "Here this is where you will stay" she said the area was not fancy but could serve as a small house there was a small kitchenette with a table in the back left corner of the area and a few chairs and such sitting around the table and on the back wall was a book shelf and a desk but pushed to the left wall were two beds one already taken and the other bare with sheets and a quilt tossed over it between them was a dresser"Sorry it's not fancy but you will take the empty bed and the top two drawers in the dresser Cole already claimed the other two" she said "Other than that make yourself at home and Anna will bring out your food later"

Brendon followed Alex, looked around the room and nodded gratefully. But when she told him the empty bed was his, he was thrown. "Really?" Brendon murmured softly, staring at the bed. "I've never had one before." He tilted his head a little and just stared.

Alex frowned "you meet had a bed to yourself?" She said frowning "Well you do now alright? And the books on the shelf or anything else in here is free for you to use" she said "Next door it's pretty much the same thing but diffrent books so you can get some of them if you would like…" she sighed "Well I should go clean up fathe will expect me at lunch… I will see you later make yourself at home here and at the stables" she said turning to leave

"Thank you, so much..." Brendon squeaked, getting all choked up. "For everything..."

Alex smiled softly and looked at him "No problem… I will see you later" she said and went to go clean up at the castle for lunch

Brendon nodded, looking around the room and taking note of all that was in it. He'd had few belongings of his own, so he went to retrieve them where he'd been first taken when he came here. After that, Brendon put his things in the room and went back out to begin his duties that had been vaguely explained by that mean old man earlier.

Alex went in and cleane up then went down to lunch in the main dining hall she said quietly with her father and two younger siblings after lunch she sent Anna to the barn with lunch for the stable hands and gardeners as the rest of the staff ate at the castle where they worked she then went up to her study to work on finding out about Brendon's mother and sisters

Anna walked out towards the gardens then to the barn and set down a basket on one of the chairs "Lunch!" She called and went back to the as the soon returning with glasses of water and set them down

Finn, Derrik, and Cole all hurried to get their glass of water and sandwiches and sit down to eat their lunch and when one was left over Cole looked around for Brendon

Brendon hadn't happened to get the lunch memo, as he was so absorbed in his tasks. He kept on working and didn't hear the call. He didn't even notice anyone had been gone.

Cole saw him and walked over "Uh Brendon? Uh… l-lunch is here" he said keeping his head down and shuffled his feet nervously
