Brendon bit his lip and thought. He anxiously fidgeted with Athena's reins in his hands, opening his mouth and closing it as he thought for a moment. "My Mom and my sisters..." Brendon said ever so softly. He dug his heel in the grass, watching the horses drink. "We were separated from my Dad when I was ten, don't know what happened to him... I got taken from my Mom and my sisters when I was sixteen... Haven't seen them since." He choked out, wiping away a tear before it was visible. The young man shuddered a bit. "I miss them..."

Alex listened and could tell it was hard for him to speak of it "Ok…" she said quietly "What are their names and approximate ages?" She asked softly these were the two main things she needed to know if she was to find his family for him

"Well..." Brendon murmured thoughtfully and sniffled. "My Dad, his name was Boyd. He's probably... Hm... Sixty-three now? My mother, Grace Nani, she's sixty-one." Brendon sighed as he went on. "Then there's my older brothers, Matt and Mason. My sisters are Kayla and Kara..." He wiped away his tears. "Each of us were born three years apart. I'm the youngest, they're all grown up. Probably way out on their own now... My oldest brother is probably thirty-three now..." Brendon explained. He couldn't help but wonder where they all were now. If they'd settled down, found a better life, or if they were still slaving away their lives' work. Were they still together? Did they have families of their own now?

Alex smiled listening as he listed all their names "I will see if I can track them down you mother and sisters first and if they have families their families too… then your father and brothers" she said "You brothers may be hard to find because they are about the age most have families and I won't break up a family if I can help it" she said softly and sighs thinking a little bit to herself then shook her head "Anyways I will see what I can do" she said and pet the horses then saw it was getting to be around noon and knew she was expected for lunch "We should head back to the stables"

Brendon sighed and nodded, climbing up onto the mare. He couldn't help but to think his family was better off without him now. He would be terrified to see what had become of them. Brendon knew that if his family found out all that he'd been through, it would break out in endless grief. He hoped not to imagine it. He was here now, this was his new life, the next chapter in the young man's life. Brendon hoped they wouldn't be found. It's better to be in denial than to have a lifetime of regret.

Alex looked over at him as they headed back then suddenly she realized something then began thinking as they headed for the barn stopping when they got there she began to untack Adahy and take it all back to the tack room then came back to the horses and took Adahy to wash him down but saw Finn look up from sweeping "I can take 'em for ya and I'm sure Derrik won't mind takin' Athena" he said looking at the other rider Alex smiled "Finn this is Brendon the new Stable hand... Brendon this is Finn"

Brendon had followed Alex back on Athena, then climbed off the horse as they came back to the stables. He took off her tack and was about to brush her when he was introduced to Finn. "Hello." Brendon said shyly, running his thumb along the bristles of the brush. He extended his hand to shake hands with Finn, as a curt greeting.

Finn chuckled and shook his hand "Shy 'eh? Well ya will get to know us we ain't so bad" he said and Alex laughed seeing a man that loved almost identical to Finn come around the corner and walked over "Brendon this is Derrik" the man waved a little "Nice to meet ya" he said a bit calmer than his brother Alex took both horses and handed them over to the men and laughed "Your brother volunteered you to take Athena so I can show Brendon around" she said laughing at the glare the man gave his brother and motioned Brendon to follow "Come on I will introduce you to Cole and show you your room"

Brendon grinned a bit as he was introduced to the twins. He thought they were kind of odd, talking like they did and looking almost identical. He just hoped he could keep them sorted out in his mind. Brendon would come out of his shell soon enough. He said a soft "goodbye" to the brothers as he turned on his heel and watched Alex go along, he then followed in suit.

Alex chuckled and walked down the barn isle then heard a small voice yelling from above then "Heads up! Stall 5!" It yelled then Alex moved back pulling Brendon with her and a few moments later a haybale tumbled over the side of the loft Alex laughed "Cole come meet your new room mate!" Se called and not too long later a dark haired boy climbed down from the loft he was no older than 12 but he looked at them and waved a little "Cole this is Brendon he will room with you now if that is alright" the boy nodded "Hello Brendon" he said shyly and shuffled his feet a little Alex smiled "Cole would you mind showing Brendon around while I am at lunch in a little while?" The boy nodded "Alright..." He glanced at Brendon then at Alex and moved closer to her asking quietly if she could still teach him to read in the afternoons and Alex nodded"Of course" se said then motioned Brendon to follow "He came not too long ago and has never had any schooling… he was beaten up bad poor kid looked like a sack of bones and had bruises and scratches all over him"
