Brendon felt like he was going to faint. The princess? Scary? Brendon could not be more aghast. Alex must've been the kindest person he'd seen for a long time yet. He feared her, yes. But not that he would be hurt, no no no... He just wanted to be good enough for her. The young man was at a loss for words. "I... I... N-no miss, I'm j-just... I'm..." Brendon was practically spluttering, trying frantically to figure out what to say. He took a deep breath before trying to speak again. His hands were shaking. "I meant not to come off that way..." Brendon choked out. "I jus-t I-I'm just trying to b-be re-res-respectful." He stammered, mentally tripping over his words. Brendon couldn't even notice the horse's energy, he was too caught up in his own mind.

Alex stopped Adahy and then leaned over and stopped Athena and looked at Brendon "Brendon… I want you to listen ok? I say this in the kindest way possible alright?" She said looking at him "You are not an exception" she said laughing an reached over taking his shaking hand and held hers next to his "See they both are from humans… and you know what says I'm better than you? A word a flipping word Brendon!" She said laughing "I mean heck if I was not born with a Royal title I would probably be a seamstress or something! Just because I'm a royal…" she shook her head "Brendon… I understand respect but I don't want you to be scared ok? Because fear is what causes war and fear is what made you a slave and it is something I'm not alloud to have… don't fear people here Brendon if I am around no harm will come to you"

Brendon looked over at Alex in shock as she spoke to him. He listened and listened. When she touched him, he flinched a little, but tried to remain composed. And when Alex said that they were both human, only divided by class, things suddenly made so much more sense to Brendon. He finally understood that this woman was not meaning any harm and she was to be respected, not feared. The Urie boy nodded and bit his lip. "I understand." Brendon murmured softly, letting the corners of his mouth curl up into a little smile. Just a small one. "Thank you."

Alex watched him trying to help him understand she only wanted him to know not to fear her she was no threat to him when he seemed to pause a moment then smile she smiled as well "good" she said watching him "I like your smile much better than seeing you upset" she said smiling "Now come on I need to finish showing you around the castle grounds" she said starting again through the orchard

Brendon blushed a bit and managed to smile a little bigger. He adjusted his classes and carded his hair. He followed Alex through the orchards, admiring the scenery as well as familiarizing himself.

Alex lead him through the orchard and around to the fields and the storage and livestock buildings before heading towards the trees on the far side of the property and leading him to a river where she stopped and slipped off Adahy to let the horse drink from the cool water and rest for a short while "You will probably get lost a few times but will eventually learn where you are… and if they have not already assigned you a room I can show you where you will be later"

Brendon admired the setting as he followed Alex. When she slipped off Adahy to let the horse drink, he figured he'd do the same, and he dismounted Athena. He let the mare drink and made a mental note of where all the places were before Alex spoke again. When she told him about his room, Brendon nodded. "Yes. Please... I would like that." He said respectfully. Brendon never had a room of his own before, so he pictured maybe a room in the barn with a few roommates and sleeping on hay bales. That was how things were last time.

Alex sighed "I must warn you though the sleeping arrangements may be diffrent than your last home…" she said a bit worried about what he would think of it "You will have to share with Cole… he is nice though so hopefully it won't be too bad" she said quietly and sighed looking down at her feet "Brendon… did you have friends or family before you came here?" She asked and sighed

Brendon had no problem with the sleeping arrangements. It seemed he'd only have one roommate this time, he just hoped the other guy was friendly. When Alex asked Brendon about his family, however, he was thrown a bit by the question. "Um..." He trailed off and thought for a moment. Brendon bit his lip and nodded. "Yes." He murmured softly. He didn't really want to talk about it.

Alex let out a shaky sigh and nodded "I'm sorry" she said quietly "You don't have to answer my questions if they make you uncomfortable" she said softly watching the horses drink and turned looking at him "If you want I can try to find them" she said hesitantly and quietly "Some prefer to not know where their family is and others want them as close as they can" she said and shook her head "I'm sorry Brendon…"
