Alex pulled up a stool and sat next to him glancing at her brothers with Coal helping brush one of the horses before she looked back to him "Brendon… I was wondering if something else wa wrong… other than you being dizzy" she said softly and looked at her hands fidgeting "Uh I just… you seem kind of worried about something"

Brendon felt a little queasy as Alex put her hands on his and spoke to him. He wasn't sure what to say back. He didn't know how to put it. "Why would someone like you... Even talk to someone so insignificant as me?" Brendon shuddered a bit and looked to Alex with questioning eyes.

Alex sighed and tried to think of what to say for a few moments "Because Brendon… you are not insignificant and I am no better than you… I like talking to the workers at the castle I always have even when I was little because it's almost like having normal friends…" she said and sighed blushing a little bit as she paused a moment then spoke again "A-and I like you Brendon… you are just so timid sometimes it's hard to get to know you"

Brendon clenched his jaw, intently listening to Alex. "I like you, too..." He breathed out, staring down at the floor. "I can't help it, being shy. I just... I used to be punished for talking to anyone of a higher rank... I was never allowed to speak to my superiors because it was considered disrespectful. Being friends? For get it." He shrugged, sighing as he explained himself.
