He sighed and went silent, knowing it was better to not talk and just keep to himself for now. He was good at that, especially back when he grew up outside. Silence and stealth was important for surviving. Its why he made no noise as he walked, a trait he had managed to pick up.
Scout hurried off suddenly, and he woke from his daydream in order to quickly move after her, so that he wouldn't be lost behind. While kneeling by her, he glanced around and tried to peek over what was left of the car
"Uhm.. lemme see.." he grumbled before lifting his gun and scanning the horizon. He spotted nothing so far and shook his head
"We're clear... for now.." he sighed while lowering his rifle and looking back to her. "Ah dinna know whot th' mutated fellas look loik.. so.. fill me in. We ken continue on fer now.." he said while nodding to the river

Scout patiently waits for Sniper to check the horizon to make sure their path was clear, "Wait, what?" She turns to face him and raises a brow in disbelief, "You've never seen one of them before? They've been around for years.." She tells him before sighing, "You'll know when you see one..they smell bad and they are noisy, you'll probably hear and smell one before you see it." Jess shrugs before getting up and cautiously moves back towards the river, she wasn't as quiet this time and tried engaging in small talk every so often, but that was until she heard it. A distant, thumping sound and well weak vibrations she could feelling from her feet, whatever it was, it was heavy. She guestures Mick to keep quiet as they slowed their pace, she scanned the tree line, but wasn't able to make anything out, but with his scope, the other RED could probably make out the mutant before she could anyways, "Do you see it?" She mutters.

He blinked and stopped when the Scout stopped him, and watched as she sat and questioned him.
"No.. ah havent.." he frowned before listening about what they were like. Apparently scary.. he wondered why he hadn't heard of them earlier
"ah've been secluded fer th' past.. some odd years."
He got up and followed suit for a little while until he felt it as well. He had no idea what it could be, and tilted his head before soon stopping.
He pulled his rifle up again and scanned the horizon, spotting something then. It was horrible looking.. he gagged and pulled the scope down before nodding and squeezing his eyes shut. He had to burn the image from his mind
"Yup.." he answered while looking over to her
"Inside th' trees.. its.. comin' thes way.." he said while gesturing back to the trees

Scout leads the former BLU towards cover in the bushes and didn't look pleased to have seen Mick's reaction after peaking through his scope, she was now certain one of them was up ahead before he even said so, "Not what I wanted to hear.." Jess sighs as she readied her scattergun in case things went down south for them, "Only use your gun if you have no other option, otherwise be prepared to have every single one of those things with a mile radius at your feet in seconds." Scout warns, she knew better than to fire her gun around a mutant, but she still kept in close in hand as it made her feel somewhat safe. She could feel each and every step the creature took, but she kept her calm, "I'm assuming this one is big...if we step out from here, will it see us?" She asks knowing they didn't have the best hiding place and that they would be trampled if they stayed put. They could try to sneak off to a more secure spot, but they also ran the risk of being spotted if they did so, "Okay..let me rephrase that..what are it's features like? Does it have eyes? Ears? Nose?" Knowing small details such as this would be vital on knowing how they could make their escape.

He shuddered and opened his eyes to look over at the Scout, watching as she grabbed her gun. What, was he supposed to lie? He didn't like what he had to see!
"Foin.." he growled and peeked over again at the mutated.. thing.. and pulled his rifle once more
"No.. nothin'.." he answered
This thing was ugly.. he saw so much in his life.. mutated.. deranged animals that needed help.
This was not like that he's seen
"Three arms.. four legs.. uhm.. big an' white.." he said before looking over to Jess for a plan.
"Whot.. ya gonna try an' book it? Ya do realize I aint a Scout. Ahm a sniper.."
He wasn't very fast, but he was hopefully fast enough to escape this thing.
Just because it didn't have eyes, ears, or noses didn't mean it couldn't feel vibrations like Scout did

Scout was relieved to hear that the mutant lacked basic features. Under normal circumstances she would have remained on egde knowing that the creature could easily track their movement by feeling the vibrations through its feet, but as of now, they were currently walking besides a raging river and that alone would have been enough to mask their movement, or at least that's what she believed, "You'd be surprised on how fast you could run when you have one of those things chasing after ya." Jess jokes teasingly before gesturing Sniper to follow as she cautiously moves away from the mutant's path. She hoped they could sneak by undetected this time, but one thing was certain..this fella wasn't going to be the first and only freak they were to run into, after all, it was a two day's trek to make it out of the Dead Zone and Jessie had been running on little to no sleep for the last several days as is. She trust that Mick could handle the hike just fine, but what did worry her was how he would be able to handle one of these things face to face.

He frowned and felt his mouth go dry, unable to figure a response to what she had said. This situation suddenly got a whole lot.. scarier.. and important. He needed to make sure to keep close to Scout the entire time, grabbing his rifle he soon moved after her slowly and softly.
He had practice with this sort of thing. If one wasn't truly paying attention, they'd never know he was there.
He stared at the ugly thing and his body convulsed, unable to keep his sandwich in. He quickly turned and knelt by the river in order to let the fluids of his sandwich wash down with the river.
"Bloody 'ell.." he grumbled while staggering after Scout, rubbing his lips and looking up as he heard a low hooting noise. At first he assumed it to be a bird, but his suspicions were tossed into the river as well as he spotted the ugly mutant bounding after them like an angry rhino
He screamed and bolted, racing past Scout and just following the river as he tried to escape the thing

Scout remained perfectly calm and collected as she patiently waits for the deformed creature to pass. She could see it clear as day now and it looked as if it was going to mosey on by without incident..but that thought was quickly wiped away when Sniper could no longer hold back the urge to vomit. Jessie swore her heart stopped at that very moment. When she turned her head in Mick's direction, she was surprised that he had already put a good amount of distance between himself and her, she of course hurries after. When she caught up, she tugs at his shirt and points towards the water, "Cross the river, they can't swim and usually avoid water..!" She tells him in a panicked voice before letting go him dives stright into the strong currents, Jess rather take her chances with mother nature than whatever that thing was capable of, she just hoped that he would do the same for this was the main reason why she had been traveling along side the river. It made for a convenient emergancy exit if things did go according to plan..like now.

He just wanted to run straight off the end of the world, but was pulled back to reality by the scout. He blinked and looked to where she was pointing, and knew that the water really was the only way out.
Scout dove right in, and he whimpered before looking back to see that the mutant was right on his tail. He squeaked and dove in after her, holding onto his rifle as much as he could as the currents swept him after Scout
He breached and slicked his hair back, seeing that the mutant no longer could figure where they had gone, and he laughed triumphantly
He swam a little in order to catch up to Scout to see what the plan was now.
"We lost it.." he announced
"Now whot?"

Jessie barely managed to pull herself from the fast moving current, but when she did, she had to sit on the shore to catch her breath and watches as that ungodly beast paces back and forth from the other side. Instinctively, she reaches for her cell in her pocket and frowns upon discovering that the contact with water and left the device ruined, Mekhl would no longer have her signal. Scout then pulls up her sleeve and examines her mechanical arm, the thing was now bound to rust up if she didn't reach civilazation soon, "We move forward and expect a ton more of these encounters." She simply states, she ran into a least several dozen mutants just on her way to the base not even a few hours ago and here she was making the same trip back, "Hope Engie wasn't tracking us, otherwise this won't look very good on his end." She jokes as she flashes her damaged cell before tossing it into the river, "Anyways..we should hurry and get out of here before that thing attracts more over here, last thing we want is one this is capable of jumping over the river.." The RED shutters before walking off alongside the river once again, she was already freezing in her wet clothes, but as of now there wasn't much she could do about it aside for prying that the sun would stay out long enough to dry up the damp fabric.
